ABT Sportsline gives 370 hp to the 2014 VW Golf 7 (VII) R

If you are not satisfied by Volkswagen’s Golf 7 (VII) R and its 296 hp (221 kW) engine we have great news from you as ABT Sportsline has a solution to boost the power of its hot hatch. Thanks to the ABT Engine Control unit especially developed, the 2.0-liter TSI engine found on the Golf R was boosted to no less than 370 hp (272 kW) and 460 Nm of torque (standard model delivers 380 Nm).

As a result, the Golf R by ABT Sportsline hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited at 265 km/h or 164 mph.

The standard Golf 7 R sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds when using the six-speed manual transmission and in 4.9 seconds when using the DSG dual-clutch gearbox, while the top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph or 250 km/h.

Despite the power increase, the ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Golf R has a fuel consumption identical to the standard model, meaning that it needs 6.9 litres of fuel per 100 km when using the optional 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG).

Moreover, ABT Sportsline also updated the looks of the car with a new front grille, a front spoiler with an integrated blade, headlight covers, mirrors caps with the ABT logo, side skirts, a rear wing, tail gate and rear skirt add-ons. The exterior design is completed by the dark ER-C wheels.

There are no details regarding the price, but we do know that the standard Golf R costs 38,325 euros. So, be prepared to spend something if you want a hot hatch like this one!
