A.R.T. GL Mammut based on the Mercedes-Benz GL

Article by Christian Andrei, on August 27, 2010

Desire for strength and atavistic instincts are brought to light by the characteristic new exterior that A.R.T. developers have presented this top quality class SUV. In the front skirt, large air inlets, a ground-breaking front-grille and a broader total area demand the earned respect from observers.

A Triple Beam Lamp Set with an extra Xenon high-beam headlight, daylight lamp in LED technology and a double-function unit for corner light and fog lights improves the charm of the vehicle's front while giving the driver that extra passive safety for nighttime driving. The maximized, balanced new widened front fenders each integrate a gill.

The modified A.R.T. BiXENON Headlamp System NERO offers the finishing touch to the aggressive front appearance of the already tough vehicle. In the rear section, the vehicle also makes an impression with its widened fenders with gills.

These integrated red rear LED lights are automatically turned on every time one of its doors is open. An ultramodern 5-part rear frame consisting of an integrated roof spoiler brilliantly improves the design and offers more passive safety with its wide LED brake light strip.

The A.R.T. rear skirt with an incorporated diffuser provides the GL MAMMUT an obvious width advantage and, in combination with the A.R.T. four-pipe sports exhaust, makes an even more powerful appearance on drivers behind. The high-shine hard-chromed 100 mm tail pipe with A.R.T. emblems in the tailpieces show the seal of quality.

Two stainless-steel high-quality rear mufflers guarantee that the sound is perfect. The limited edition A.R.T. STEPLIGHTS channels light across the running boards whatever the lighting conditions may happen to be and distinctly marks the point of entry to the vehicle even when the doors are shut.

Then, beams of blue parallel light segments shine out through the filigree openings in the extremely brilliant stainless steel. The light-blue lighted Entry Ledges with the A.R.T. emblem created from smoothly polished and brushed stainless steel provides a well-groomed look and facilitates quick and easy entry into the vehicle.

To put you ahead: The A.R.T. engine performance for CDI versions provides electronic performance maximization of the motor control. It generates more than 20% of speed out of those already powerful series motors. Performance maximization will be offered soon for the V6 and V8 petrol motors. Additional performances, superior dynamics, especially in the low speed series, provide lower fuel utilization.

Two unconquerable reasons for tuning the performance of your diesel engine: your wallet and our environment. The electronic A.R.T. suspension system for the range Airmatic chassis decreases the vehicle's height by 35mm and can be separately tweaked up to 60 mm. All other built-in chassis control functions remain the same.

For the wheel concept, A.R.T. suggests its 22-inch monoART1 light-alloy wheels for the GL MAMMUT, with a special coating to fit the vehicle's color scheme. Appropriately fitting tire sizes are offered in dimensions up to 315/30R22.

The A.R.T. sports steering wheel is are designed and shaped for maximum comfort and highlighted with perforated grips. An excellent selection of possible blends: leather/fine wood, leather/leather, leather/alcantara, or leather/carbon fiber provide numerous variations for the inside design of the GL cabin.
