Carlsson, the tuning company specialized in Mercedes-Benz vehicles unveiled today its latest masterpiece: the Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse. Based on the Mercedes-Benz GL 500, the new vehicle will make its official debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show. As you can see the most interesting part of this vehicle is the two-tone paintwork, a hallmark of the Carlsson Aigner range.
This new body kit includes a new larger front grill and sub-grilles feature chromed wire mesh, additional driving and fog lights set into the bumpers and LED daytime running lights, wider wheel arches visually linked by side skirts, a new rear bumper featuring chromed exit pipes of the freer-flowing sports exhaust system.
Under the hood the V8 engine was boosted from 388 hp and a torque of 530 Nm to an impressive 456 hp and 640 m of torque pushing the vehicle to 100 km in just 5.9 seconds (the standard vehicle achieves 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds).
The kit is completed by the 23 inch three-piece 3/11 UL forged alloy wheels fitted with 305/30ZR23 tires. A big surprise is the Carlsson electronic lowering kit which drops the ride height of the Airmatic suspension by 40 mm.
Inside the vehicle demonstrates the art of haute couture with the plush interior of the Rascasse. We find the finest leather and Alcantara respecting the tradition of Carlsson. Also an integrated fridge is available between the rear seats as well as hand-blown Carlsson-Aigner glasses.
The entertainment is assured with eight-inch screens integrated into the headrests of the front seats. Anyway if you were asking what Rascasse means -- here is the official info: "Rascasse is the second last bend of the Monaco Grand Prix Circuit as well as a famous street cafe located by the track.
In fact, the Rascasse name originally comes from the French red rascasse, a member of the Scorpion fish family that is an essential ingredient in Bouillabaisse, the most famous French gourmet soup." The most important thing: the Rascasse will be built in a very limited edition of just 20 units, so hurry up!
