Would you believe that the tuners at Edo Competition modified a stock Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG wagon to offer more power than the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe? Edo installed a high-performance exhaust system, high-flow catalytic converters, exhaust headers, new air filters, and a revised ECU. Edo estimates that with these add features, the wagon could now deliver 591 hp and 501 lb-ft of torque.
Meanwhile, the “normal” C63 AMG has an output of 451 hp and 443 lb-ft, while the Black Series coupe makes 510 hp and 457 lb-ft. Edo claims that the vehicle can now accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds, slightly faster than Benz’s claims for the C63 AMG Coupe. However, it is several seconds slower than the Black Series model.
Edo wasn’t satisfied with just that. It took out the top-speed limiter and this vehicle could now hit a top speed of 211 mph. It is also now fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves within the exhaust system so that it offers a pleasant sound.
The valves instantly open to improve the exhaust note when a level of back pressure is attained. Edo also gave the wagon a set of 19-inch, multi-piece wheels covered in Michelin high-performance tires. Its interior uses a generous helping of carbon fiber trim.
