Gemballa reveals GT Aero Kit 2 package for the Porsche Cayenne (958)

Article by Christian Andrei, on July 1, 2012

Tuning company GEMBALLA is now offering an extension of the AERO 1 package for the Porsche Cayenne 958. The new kit, dubbed as AERO 2, builds on the components included in the AERO 1 package that was introduced in 2012 and offers enhancements to the sports car’s aerodynamics while giving the premium SUV a bigger presence on the road.

The Porsche Cayenne 958 can be considered a piece of art, boasting a chic design that is actually larger but gives the appearance of being compact. To further enhance the Cayenne’s vaunted individuality, GEMBALLA uses a modular system, which also allows owners to add AERO 2 to the entry-level AERO 1 kit at any time.

When the AERO 2 kit is selected, owners could avail of wheel arch extensions and connecting side sills that further highlight the car’s width. Since GEMBALLA uses the modular system, any addition from the AERO 2 kit can be done easily.

For instance, if a Cayenne owner already has the AERO 1 Kit fitted, he or she could install wheel arches from the AERO 2 kit as the next step. Also available in the kit is a set of unique 22-inch wheels from GEMBALLA, which could help boost the Cayenne’s appeal.

GEMBALLA’s wheels keep unsprung weight down to about the same level as the standard 20-inch wheels. GEMBALLA also offers a cast version of the wheel design for customers who might not have enough money to pay for the 22-inch wheels.

GEMBALLA manufactures all AERO 2 components only from the highest quality carbon fiber in Germany. Since the company’s components are all designed to fit the Cayenne’s original mounting points, there is no need to cut or drill into the car.

To make sure that all its components precisely fit the base vehicle, GEMBALLA uses state-of-the-art digital measuring equipment. GEMBALLA chief executive Andreas Schwarz remarked that the company’s design process guarantees the highest fitting accuracy, which means that any repair or removal of the kits will be straightforward and cost effective.

Nature’s way is to perfect its creations step-by-step. GEMBALLA has developed its AERO packages for the Porsche Cayenne 958 using a similar evolutionary process.

The AERO 2 package is an extension of the AERO 1 kit introduced at the beginning of 2012, and further increases the presence of this premier SUV, while taking its aerodynamics to the next level.

The second generation Porsche Cayenne is a more elegant design than its predecessor, and appears more compact despite its greater overall dimensions. GEMBALLA uses a modular system to enhance the Cayenne’s individuality, while enabling owners to add to the entry-level AERO 1 package at any time.

The new AERO 2 kit includes all the components of its ‘little brother’ to which are added wheel arch extensions and connecting side sills that emphasise the Cayenne’s width, giving it an even more purposeful appearance.

As with other GEMBALLA styling conversions, all the AERO 2 components are made in Germany from the highest quality carbon-fibre. GEMBALLA aero components are designed to fit the original factory mounting points so no cutting or drilling is necessary. GEMBALLA ensures the precision fit of all its components, with tolerances controlled by state-of-the-art digital measuring equipment. “Our design process ensures that the highest fitting accuracy is achieved. This also makes repairs, or removal for subsequent sale in the case of a leased vehicle, straightforward and cost effective,” explained GEMBALLA CEO, Andreas Schwarz.

The modular system also allows various combinations and permutations by owners. For instance, someone who already has the AERO 1 Kit fitted, can install the AERO 2 wheel arches as the next step.

A distinctive set of alloy wheels always transforms a car, and GEMBALLA’s 22-inch wheels make a huge difference to the look of any Cayenne. These immensely strong 22-inch forged wheels keep unsprung weight down to around the same level as the factory 20-inch wheels. For those on a tighter budget, a cast version of this wheel design is also available.

GEMBALLA builds cars that look sporty, and feel light and responsive to drive, This lean and mean philosophy is entirely in line with the principles of evolution.
