MTM had given the engines of the 2010 Audi S4 Avant and Audi S5 Cabrio the special treatment. The engine expert based in Wettstetten, Germany, was able to give the power a considerable boost by installing its approved control device M-Cantronic.
These two cars, which are both powered by the 3.0 TFSI engine, became powerful sports cars with an impressive power reserve. With this power boost, the MTM S4 became a real contender to be the successor of the Audi RS4. In fact, the V8 of the existing RS4 back in 2009 had only a 10 bhp advantage over the MTM S4.
Aside from the engine control device M-Cantronic, MTM also gave the series production car S4 a set of 4 rear pipes silencers with throttle valves. The result was an impressive 430 bhp (317 kW), 515 Nm of torque, and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds with the 6 speeds manual gearbox.
From a maximum speed of 250 kph, it was then able to go as fast as 285 kph with a V-Cantronic as well as the M-Cantronic. The S4 wasn’t the only model that was powered by the 3.0 L engine and the latest compressor technology. The factory-built engine was also used for the S5 Cabrio. It then made sense for MTM to modify the S5 Cabrio which provided a tremendous power reserve.
MTM tuning experts suggested various performance levels. It began with 380 bhp (280 kW) and 480 Nm of torque, which is actually 47 bhp more than the series model. With the installation of complementary exhaust systems with throttle valves in 4 rear pipes optic (4 x 80 mm), the vehicle was able to tap into a power improvement of 430 bhp and 515 Nm.
Of course, the MTM S4 Supercharged then had to get brake system improvements. It was then given 380 x 34 mm disk brakes, incorporated with 8-pistons calipers. As a result, the S4’s deceleration improved.
MTM didn’t do any body work except for new lowering springs to lower the car up to 40 mm on the front axe and up to 45 mm on the rear axe. MTM’s package also included 19” rims in the original Bimoto design with dimensions 255/35 ZR 19. MTM offered the 20” rims as an option.
