Tuning specialists Novitec Rosso has transformed the 8C Spider to become the most powerful and fastest Alfa Romeo in the world. The vehicle has an output of 600hp due to an advanced supercharger system as well as the stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system.
It also puts in a total of 588 Nm of torque at 5,400 rpm. A cogged tooth belt drives the system directly from the crankshaft while its maximum boost pressure has been reduced to 0.37 bar. Novitec also put in a new water to air intercooler and custom injector, so an ECU recalibration is to be expected.
The Novitec Alfa Romeo 8C Spider boasts of having a top speed of 305 Km/h (an increase from 290 Km/h). Meanwhile, the vehicle is now able to accelerate from new 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) in only 3.9 seconds. The tuner has also given the car a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system, a custom-tailored tire/wheel combination with 21- and 22-inch diameters and a height-adjustable sport suspension.
The optionally available NOVITEC stainless-steel sport exhaust system that’s available for the Alfa Romeo 8C provides not just power. It also has an integrated flap system that varies the exhaust note depending on the engine speed whether the driver wants sporty to racing-like.
The exhaust system, which has four tailpipes, is meant to perfectly fit into the standard cutouts in the rear apron. The engine and cosmetic changes can be sold separately, while the compressor conversion is priced at €19,900.
The new 8C Spider, developed in detail by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, strongly promotes the brand’s excellence in this segment, as demonstrated by Spider with its reputation as one of the most beautiful cars in the automotive history. Such cars include the 50s Giulietta Spider and the famous Duetto of the 1967 film "The Graduate” starring the young Dustin Hoffman. Now is the time for the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider to be the centre of interest and to continue towards the future, the technological and emotional values belonging to the Alfa Romeo heritage.
The latest vehicle undeniably gets the winning features of the Coupè edition. These include the setup of two sport seats plus the interesting exterior lines with distinguishing sculpted, finely designed bodywork that clad the model’s automotive and mechanical excellence.
In depth, the vehicle’s striking dynamics is given emphasis by the horizontal groove included in the bonnet at wheel level. Its oversized wheels plus strong muscles of the rear mudguard highlight the model’s character and force, without lessening the elegance of these fluid lines. Rather, they emphasize the formal beauty of each external feature: front LED lights, teardrop fog light set resembling precious jewels in the front mudguard, the important door handle and the synthesis of technology and rationality.
Moreover, the distinguishing Alfa Romeo stylings are found in the front with a fresh interpretation of the shield and whiskers. It should be kept in mind, though, that this state-of-the-art range anticipates the proportions and elements of future Alfa Romeo cars, with full respect for the brand’s historical legacy.
It is worth stressing that the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider has started to use solutions that are not limited to the form’s design to reach top levels of aero-dynamic efficiency.
All profiles and surfaces of the windows and uprights, alongside the positioning and form of the rear view mirrors, have been enhanced with the help of computer models and tests in real-life environments and wind tunnels. This leads to air flows around the vehicle following its natural path, not blocked by corners or irregularities. The final result is a negative lift coefficient (LC) that adds to stability at very high speeds just like competition vehicles.
What makes this vehicle peculiar is the hooded top integrated with electro-hydraulic automatic control (which can be controlled through a button on the dashboard). The Alfa Romeo 8C Spider’s hooded top consists of two sheets that overlap. In particular, the external one is made with a multi-thread textile that can survive the elements while the internal sheet contains sound-proofing qualities. In addition, the hooded roof-top comes in different colors and has been perfected aesthetically, aerodynamically as well as for sound comfort. It has also been enhanced to be more functionality, with specially made film-reels to cause it to become more rapid, agile and secure.
The Alfa Romeo 8C Spider ensures a sophisticated ambience in the interior, owing to the composite materials widely used in the internal panels and dashboard plus carbon-produced anatomical seats that can be adjusted to fit the driver’s characteristics (a feature only included in racing cars). Moreover, to personalise the interior at the most, clients can choose from the variety of environments as well as aesthetic solutions. Everything is distinctive due to the particular attention given to details plus the artisan workmanship done on the color tone, exclusive matching and contrasting stitches. The bucket seats are clad in Frau flower leather upholstery (exclusive and innovative weave treatment), wherein the leather is fastened to a natural fibre, resulting to a look that gives greater visual impact.
