O.CT. Tuning releases new performance kit for the VW Golf, Touran and Tiguan

Article by Christian A., on August 25, 2010

At last! O.CT Tuning, the Austrian tuner, has finished modifications on power upgrades for cars with the new ECU class MED 17 using the OBD II connection. All power parts are digitally copied to the OBD connection using Intelligent Programming (or IPRO). As in all O.CT improvements, the new MED 17 kits are personally developed by O.CT and are custom-made to each engine's specifications, ensuring maximum strength and performance. There is no longer a need for opening the engine control unit.

All customers can have power upgrades carried out by one of their many brokers, including models with the MED 17 ECU. The 1.4 TSI engine by Volkswagen is one of the first cars that utilizes this system that O.CT has improved. This engine is available in two types from 140 hp to 170 hp. Versions with an additional 122 hp or 125 hp is also available for a number of Vw cars. Using a radical concept of direct injection joined together with a supercharger and turborcharger, Vw has squeezed outstanding performance from this 1.4-liter engine, while greatly improving the reduction of fuel consumption and emissions.

O.CT tuning, however, still perceive the possibility of more improvement. The result was that O.CT created a 193hp power upgrade. Mixed with the increase in torque of up to 65Nm, the engine currently provides obvious improved acceleration of 0-100 km/h (62 mph), 1.2 seconds much faster than the 140 hp series version.

What is more remarkable is the difference of 180 km/h (112 mph). The O.CT 1.4 TSI modified vehicle hits this speed at an exhilirating 12 seconds faster. This is equivalent to the length of 110 cars! What is more important is that this performance quality enhanced comfort and safety when overtaking slower vehicles on the highway or a country road. Speed increases from 205 to 225 km/h (140 mph) while being as economical with fuel as the standard car. O.CT has also power upgrades through OPB for the 150, 160 and 170hp variants of the award-winning 1.4 TSI engine series.

O.CT gave special attention to the 150 hp VW Tiguan 1.4 TSI 4 Motion. With an increased 40hp and 40Nm of torque, the small SUV races to 100 km/h one whole second quicker and hits 180 km/h an enormous 10 seconds quicker than the standard vehicle, about an advantage of 86 car lengths. With O.CT tuning the small sports utility vehicle changes into a big performer. All performance information is recorded and therefore representative. They are not copied from makers data sheets.

Thie guarantees that our customers can and will realize the performance thus advertised. Performance upgrades via IPRO for almost all VAG products are also available through O.CT. Pure driving pleasure is guaranteed by the O.CT through its 1.4 TSI power kits. Power upgrades for 1.8 / 2.0 TSI / 2.0 TFSI versions and smaller 1.4 TSI models are in the works and will surely be available soon.

The network of O.CT dealers is expanding continually, guaranteeing that power upgrades through OBD using IPRO are within easy reach. IPRO helps O.CT partners to enhance any engine's performance in six quick steps. Tuning data is transferred to IPRO through the internet and are then uploaded to the control unit of the engine.
