SpeedART PS9-650 based on Porsche Panamera Turbo

These are the first live pictures of the SpeedART Porsche Panamera PS9 tuning package that will be unveiled at the upcoming Essen Motor Show.

Aside from the performance upgrades and power kits for the Turbo model, SpeedART also gave the Panamera an array of PS9 aerodynamic and interior add-ons.

The PS9 power kit consists of larger turbo chargers, sport exhaust and cats plus ECU upgrades. There are four versions available: 520, 550, 600 and 650-horsepower and up to 890 Nm (656.5 lb-ft) of torque.

The top-of-the-line version that boasts an output of 650hp enables the car to go from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in 3..5 seconds and to attain a top speed of more than 320km/h (200mph). The package also has exterior modifications that would be considered aggressive.

There's a new aero kit, which includes a front spoiler with an integrated brake cooling system, side skirts, engine hood air vents, a rear diffuser, a pair of twin-tailpipes, air outlets on the rear bumper and a fixed rear spoiler.

All the versions of the modified Panameras will get 22-inch wheels with a unique design. The 650hp version will feature a new brake system with modular 380 mm discs and 6 piston brake calipers.

The Porsche Panamera packs five technological features that are each being introduced for the first time in a production luxury sports car. First, a start-stop system is incorporated with its automatic transmission. Second, a Sport Chrono package is implemented where automatic adjustments to the engine, transmission, suspension and other components are possible via push button to achieve a more dynamically sporty ride.

Also, Porsche’s Gran Turismo now has a double-clutch gearbox -- the first car of its class to get this feature. Fourth, this sports car will also have the first adaptive air suspension with variably controllable spring rate in this segment.

Lastly, active aerodynamics is featured, with automatically adjusting rear spoilers for the optimal air flow angle. A Launch Control feature also works with the PDK transmission system to enable unbelievably rapid acceleration from an idling state.

All Porsche Panamera variants represent the new ideal for luxury sports cars when it comes to efficiency as well. These cars are all relatively lightweight, with the flagship Turbo model as the heaviest, being no more than 2,000 kilos (4,410 lbs. DIN norm) even with its complete set of standard features.

Another feature common to all Porsche Panameras that decreases fuel usage and CO2 release is the Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe transmission system. This uses an Auto Start-Stop feature that turns off the engine whenever the car stops, as on intersections or when the brakes are used to keep the car from moving. The engine automatically turns on again when the brakes are released. Fuel efficiency is thus further improved especially in city driving.

Adaptive Air Suspension Enables Sporting Performance with Great Comfort

The Porsche Panamera can definitely be considered to have the best blend of dynamic performance and great comfort compared to its competitors. The all-new Adaptive Air Suspension is standard on the Panamera Turbo and available as an option for the Panamera S and 4S versions.

This technologically advanced system acts as an adjunct to the conventional steel suspension and supplies more air to each spring. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) further enhances the suspension by regulating damper forces.
