StopTech Bmw M3: a car for the ambitious trackday pilots

Article by Christian Andrei, on August 26, 2010

APP Europe has revealed a tuning program for the current BMW E92 M3 model, enhancing both its appearance and its performance. This tuning program, which gives the car a sportier look, reduces its weight and improves its driving dynamics and engine performance as well as allowing for stable braking.

What the German-based StopTech High Performance Brake Distribution offers is a thoroughbred performance vehicle for the determined Trackday pilots.

The Stop Tech STR offers a high-performance brake system on each axis of the M3 of over 8 Kg. The system consists of forged aluminum and its front axle is fitted with anodized 6-piston calipers with two-piece 380x35mm discs - the rear axle with four-piston and 355x32 discs.

This system results to a sharp deceleration rate of -13.4 m / sec. Customers can chose from several multi-piece wheel designs to choose from. For this program, APP has chosen to use the light version of ATS "Race Light" 19-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 2 high performance tires.

The vehicle is equipped with a KW Club Sport sports suspension as well as the Titan of Akrapovic Evolution system, a titanium exhaust system with sport metal catalysts (which is lighter than the series by 23 kg). After collaborating with Collaction AG Widnau, the M3 V8 now delivers 450hp, a 30hp increase.

Torque has also been increased by 40 Nm. The car now also has a new film -- titanium silver / matt with metallic effect -- installed by CFC (Car Film Components), a film specialist that has long been the partner of APP.
