Details of Techart’s latest individualization program for the Porsche 911 Turbo have just been released. Techart said that there are two stages for the engine performance kits: TA 097/T1 and TA 097/T2. The German tuning specialists claim that these engine performance kits offer excellent acceleration figures and enable the Porsche 911 Turbo to hit a top speed of 333 km/h.
The Porsche 911 Turbo can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds when it is fitted with the TA 097/T1 kit as now boasts to have 70hp more over the series model.
In fact, not until the vehicle reaches 324 km/h (201 mph) does the forward propulsion stop. The improvement in performance is attributed to the optimized engine control and the addition of a Techart Sport air filter.
Meanwhile, the Techart TA 097/T2 kit boosts the output of the 911 Turbo to now deliver 620 hp and a maximum torque of 820 Nm (605 Nm). As part of the engine conversion, the following were installed: a Techart Sport air filter, Techart manifolds and the Techart exhaust system “Sport.”
In a statement, Techart said that through the reprogrammed engine management, the modifications are “perfectly attuned to each other.” Techart asserts that this is why the Porsche 911 Turbo is able to achieve performance characteristics that make it deserve the title as one of the fastest sports cars globally.
With Techart’s kit, the sportscar now has an acceleration time of 2.9 seconds when running from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) and it’s able to reach the 200 km/h (124 mph) hurdle in 6.4 seconds. Its top speed with a 3.8 l engine is 333 km/h (207 mph).
The most dynamic production Porsche 911 has a characteristic feature, its front apron that has big cooling air intakes plus LED direction indicators in a bar shape. It also includes new features like the titanium-colored louvers within the side air intakes and LED driving lights in place of conventional fog lamps.
For the first time on the latest Porsche 911 Turbo, optional dynamic bending lights enhance illumination of curves along the road as the headlight module follows the course of the road by rotating up to a 15 degree angle. The sophisticated design of the double-lens projection system most certainly confirms the dynamic and striking character of the new 911 Turbo.
The new design has double-arm exterior mirrors that give a better view towards the rear and offer enhanced aerodynamics, in which the mirror glass is more protected from dirt.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo comes standard with 19-inch Turbo II wheel integrated with forged technology plus twin-tone looks that give an appealing touch with regards to design and style. Its rear view is muscular and more powerful not only because of its classic split wing but mostly because of its rear lights that are newly designed with LED technology as well as the tailpipes that are much larger.
The new generation of Porsche 911 in the range also includes new generation steering wheels. Models that have the manual gearbox come standard with a new 3-spoke sports steering wheel in a modified design. For the first time, Porsche cars with the Doppelkupplungsgetriebe are available as an option to the PDK steering wheel, which features its proven shift buttons plus a new, optional 3-spoke sports steering wheel accompanied by gearshift paddles.
These sift paddles are firmly fitted on the steering wheel with the right paddle serving to shift upward and the left paddle serving to shift downward.
In combination with the Sport Chrono Package Turbo as an option, the paddle and PDK steering wheel alike have push buttons as well as included displays. When the button is pressed, the light of the "Sport" or "Sport Plus" will switch on. This function is shown as well when the driver activates Launch Control.
The PDK steering wheel has these displays accommodated in another binnacle on top of the airbag module. The new sports steering wheel comes with gearshift paddles in the right and left spokes.
