Vath V63 Supercharged based on Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe

Article by Christian A., on June 30, 2012

If the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series is not powerful enough for you, Vath has a solution. Specialized in tuning high-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles the tuning company unveiled the V63 Supercharged, an updated version of the exclusive C63 AMG Black Series. For those who don’t know, the standard model is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine delivering 517 hp and 620 newton metres.

After the visit to Vath, the C63 AMG Black Series got a new compressor system together with individual precise tuning of the engine electronics. As a result, the V8 engine now delivers an impressive 756 hp and 800 Nm, enough to push it from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds and to a top speed of 350 km/h or 217 mph.

In order to obtain this upgrade you will have to pay €38,500 ($48.746). Moreover, the car also received a VA stainless steel exhaust-manifold system called M156, at a price of €2,890 ($3,660). Stainless steel catalyst device that is meant only for export costs €1,890 ($2,390).

The sport rear silencer without tailpipes but with flap control costs €3,540 ($4,482). A new suspension was also added and according to Vath this can lower the car by up to 60 mm. The price for the new suspension is €2,490 ($3,150).

As expected, a new braking system was installed, featuring 405 mm breaking discs on the front axis. For the adapter and mounting kit including steel flex lines you will pay €5,490 ($6,950), while the gear-oil cooler device costs €1,490 ($1,886).

A new set of wheels is available for €7,450 ($9,432), while the new radiator grille costs €650 ($820). The interior received a new steering wheel in leather/leather and also in carbon or with woodwork on demand for €1,450 ($1,835). The extension of the speedometer up to 400 km/h costs €1,890 ($2,390).

While it initially has that strong, wide, and low stance, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupé Black Series also gives the appearance as if it is preparing to pounce. One look at this new model and there is no doubt that this has been made to run a closed-off race track. Design-wise though, it brings to mind the SLS AMG GT3 sports car which best represents the technology transfer from the motorsport world.

This, of course, has been the main guiding principle, for 44 years now, of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. Indeed, this latest offering is the best example of the ultimate driving dynamics, excellent design, and utilizing technology from motorsport, combined. No wonder many are saying that this is also the best example of the new Driving Performance claim of AMG as there has been no other model like this.

It may well be the most powerful C-Class vehicle ever. Under the hood is the 6.3-liter AMG V8 engine which displays excellent pulling power, large torque, and high-caliber performance. Maximum power is measured to be 517 hp (380 kW) with peak torque of 620 Nm. With these figures, the C63 AMG Coupé Black Series can go from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.

Driving fun is guaranteed due to a mix of the high-performance AMG compound braking system, AMG coil-over adjustable sports suspension, and of course, other features that are included as standard.
