UK pricing of 2011 Volkswagen Amarok revealed

2011 Vw Amarok

Pricing details for the three trim levels of the new pick-up, the Amarok, have recently been released by Volkswagen’s UK division. The base Startline model equipped with a 2.0-liter TDI 122 hp engine is priced at £16,995. The Trendline, which comes with a higher performance of 163 hp from a BiTDI version of the same diesel engine, is priced at £18,995. The range-topping Highline has a starting price of £21,575. The new four-wheel drive is offered with the choice of two refined two-liter diesel engines. All models can be equipped with the more powerful 2.0-liter BiTDI 163 hp engine, while the entry-level 2.0-liter TDI 122 hp is only available on Startline models.

The Startline base features an extensive list as standard features, including 16-inch alloy wheels, electric front and rear windows, semi-automatic air conditioning and single CD / radio. The Trendline level features additional two-zone automatic air conditioning, RCD 310 radio / CD player, cruise control, multifunction computer and a leather-trimmed steering wheel, handbrake and gear knob.

Notably, buyers can also opt for the Highline models to have 4MOTION Permanent. This permanent four-wheel drive system lowers the payload but provides a more car-like driving experience, with improved ride and refinement. The 4MOTION Selectable four-wheel drive system is offered on all models and gives Amarok owners a choice between rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and low-range four-wheel drive via a button mounted on the dashboard. The models that have been installed with this adjustable system have a gross vehicle weight of 3,170 kg (3988 lbs) and more robust suspension which totals to a payload of more than 1,045 kg (2303 lbs).
