Upcoming Dodge crossover showed by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

Dodge Crossover Patent Drawings
We now see a glimpse of the new Dodge crossover well before its official launch date, courtesy of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Under Chrysler's five-year plan, it will launch a full-size crossover in the fourth quarter of 2010. The vehicle is a seven-passenger CUV, with an all-new design, a swanky interior, showing a "character consistent with the new Dodge." These USPTO drawings show a large crossover sporting a front fascia, hood, and fenders patterned after the current Ram pickup.
The character lines appear to be unique but there's one drawing that shows that the new Dodge is built upon the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The two vehicles share a common rear hatch stamping. The Dodge's rear doors and overhang also seem to be longer than those on the Grand Cherokee, suggesting that the vehicle has been stretched to accommodate a third row of seating.
The name of this crossover is still undisclosed. There's speculation that Dodge could revive the Magnum nameplate for this vehicle. Sources say that the vehicle has been seen wearing Durango badges in the past. Expect the crossover to be unveiled and launched by the end of 2010, likely to be made at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show.
