Upcoming Hyundai Veloster will be based on i20

According to the latest reports from AutoTelegraaf, it appears that the upcoming Hyundai Veloster coupe will be based on the i20. The new coupe will use a custom i20 platform due to the costs, because a car based on the i30 will definitely be more expensive. The new car will make its official debut in March 2011 and is set to take on Vw Scirocco and looking at the ascension of the Korean manufactureron the market we might think that the new Veloster will be a perfect rival for the German coupe. Regarding the engines, the Veloster will receive a 1.6-liter engine offered in two versions, an atmospheric and a turbocharged capable to deliver around 190 hp.
