Many reports regarding Porsche's baby-Boxster a.k.a. 'new 356' appeared on the web and it seems that this tradition continues today. According to Autocar, the German manufacturer is working on a new entry-level sports car which will be based on the upcoming Audi R4, set to be launched in June 2011. The new Porsche is expected to arrive in late 2012 and is expected to be quite different comparing it to the R4. Also, it will be the first model from Porsche featuring a forced-induction flat-four engine that is currently under development. The R4 and 'new 356' will share many costly sub-systems such as the electrical architecture, climate control system, basic suspension layout, electronic chassis systems and innumerable hidden parts like seat frames and door locking mechanisms. We could also see the same transmission on the two cars because the one used on the 911 and Boxster is too costly.
