Dacia Duster Pikes Peak Racer

When the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb kicks off on June 26, the one-off extreme Dacia Duster aptly named the ‘Duster No Limit’ will be more than ready to participate in this race. After it was introduced last week, two short videos have arrived to demonstrate what the vehicle is capable of. The Duster No Limit is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that’s based on the VR 38 DETT block used by the Nissan GT-R.

When this engine is fitted on the Duster, it delivers 850hp and is attached to a sequential six-speed Sadev transmission. This model will compete in the Unlimited class of the Pikes Peak Climb that doesn’t put any limits on what can be done to the engine. Jean-Philippe Dayraut will be driving the Duster in this race. He pointed out that it’s only in this form of motorsport that cars of this caliber are “authorized” to join.

The Pikes Peak Climb started in 1916. This year marks the race’s 89th edition. Dozens of cars and drivers will start at 9,390 feet and will go 12.42 miles to end at the mountain’s top at 14,110 feet.
