McLaren brought its all-wheel-drive MP4-12C to the German track as part of its assessments. A video is also available, wherein people from around the world can see engineers making final adjustments prior to the MP4-12C testing. The test was started after a discussion between McLaren brass and test driver Rudi Adams. This was not an official run. Although a time is displayed at the end, one doesn't get all seven minutes.

What one can get, however, is the sound of the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that provides 592 hp at 7,000 rpm. The McLaren's lap time is behind those of the Gumpert Apollo Sport and the Porsche GT2 RS, and just in front of the Carrera GT and Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The MP4-12C has a weight of 3,161 pounds. It is built mostly with aluminum and carbon fiber. The run was made on the optional Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. The company said that these tires improve its record for the 0-to-124-mph and 0-to-60-mph runs. The McLaren MP4-12C is priced from $229,000.
