Virgin Racing VR-01 was finally launched today and promises to mage quite a buzz in the 2010 F1 championship. In the meantime, let's take a look at the details about the car. Car designer Nick Wirth said that the development of the new car, which is secured by design company Wirth Research, was made entirely via CFD. There was no work done on the wind tunnel. Wirth said that he wanted to pay tribute to everyone at Wirth Research who contributed to create the VR-01. He boasted that after having worked with the best designers in F1, he said that he knows what it takes to be successful in this sport. He expressed surprise about the skepticism surrounding its all-CFD approach. Furthermore, Wirth admitted that due to the CFD approach, the team will cause some issues with the new car when testing begins. He said that he aims to have all these issues resolved after the 12 days of testing scheduled prior to the season opening round in Bahrain.
