Volkswagen is preparing itself for an extremely difficult year in 2010, citing that various developments are anticipated for the global markets. In a statement by sales and marketing chief Detlef Wittig, the company is said to have had a 19.1% in group vehicle deliveries in November and puts it on track for a slight gain in sales this year. However, VW is bracing for tough markets as it expects a marked decline on the European market. It does predict that the upward trend in China, its largest market, will continue but apparently, that isn´t enough for the company to be able to give the all-clear. VW's global sales in November increased to 531,300 from 446,000 in the same month last year. From January to November of this year, group sales went up 2 percent to 5.85 million. With expectations being exceeded this year, Wittig said that it only shows that its brands are on the right tract. In particular, VW is proud of its environmentally-friendly model range tailored to the specific needs of the markets. VW sales rose 72..9 percent in China to 133,700 last month. Scrappage schemes in Germany had boosted sales up 18.6% to 102,000 units.
