Volkswagen Group made sure that those who viewed its vehicles at the Beijing Auto Show won’t suffer under the heat and had installed two massive diesel-burning generators to power its airconditioners. So while other visitors became very uncomfortable, those inside Volkswagen’s pavilion avoided being broiled. VW opted for the generators because the electricity demand would have led to power outages. The downside is that VW’s hall wasn’t linked to the others through the convention center’s network of covered walkways. If it rains and visitors insisted on getting to VW’s pavilion, they would be soaked for sure. Another incident that was noticed about the show is that when the first press day ended, a group of youngsters were going around to collect exhibitor badges. It turned out that the next day, these same people attempted to earn some money by selling these exhibitor badges in front of the main entrance of the Beijing show.
