After undergoing a rigorous review, Interpublic Group of Cos.' Deutsch, Los Angeles, has been named as Volkswagen of America's new national and regional creative agency. That Deutsch has gone digital was said to be a crucial part in VW's choice of the marketing agency. Deutsch won over finalist Omnicom Group's Goodby Silverstein & Partners that proposed a scheme centered on a social networking strategy. In a statement, Tim Ellis, VW's vice president of marketing, said that Deutsch LA proved they have a firm grasp on how to manage the complex challenges we face in achieving our significant growth objectives. Ellis said that Deutsch gave a big, compelling, creative idea that will boost and motivate the VW base as well as draw a larger group of people who have not looked at VW as a relevant choice.
