A new variant of the new Polo is in the works at VW and could hit markets in two years, together with a beefier replacement of the Beetle. VW acknowledges that they are giving due consideration to a mini-MPV. They understand that people do not necessarily prefer one type of diminutive or another.

They pointed out as fact that some carmakers who have a strong supermini range have weaknesses with mini-MPVs or crossovers and this is true the other way around. However, if this is properly implemented, they can be supportive of each other. VW claims to have a full product plan, considering that the markets are quite fickle now in contrast to previous years. The carmaker is not planning on reducing R&D since economic recovery is expected anytime soon. Meanwhile, work is ongoing on the next Beetle. The new Beetle will appear more masculine and aggressive so that customers of the male gender will not be put-off from purchasing it. It has been observed that women like to buy men’s cars, but men doesn’t like cars that appear to have been made for women. Photo gallery after the jump!
