Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda to use LG audio systems

2010 Vw SciroccoThree of Volkswagen’s brands — Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda – will use the audio systems of LG Electronics starting with the 2012 models. VW and LG recently signed the deal said to be worth $370 million. Reuters reports that the agreement is set to last about seven years beginning 2012.

The names of the models to feature the LG audio systems have yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, Volkswagen also announced that it has picked Deutsch LA to be its new advertising agency for its US operations. Deutsch LA will take full advertising responsibility for the Volkswagen brand and products effective November 1, 2009. Tim Ellis, Vice President of Marketing, Volkswagen of America, said that Deutsch LA was awarded the contract since it proved that it has a firm grasp on how to manage the complex challenges the company faces in achieving significant growth objectives. The marketing agency also managed to inspire VW with an idea that will“energize and motivate its passionate base as well as appeal to a broader group of people who have yet to consider VW as a relevant choice.
