Volvo Cars of North America has named Tassos Panas as its new vice president for marketing and product planning, replacing John Maloney, who was promoted to CEO late last year. Moreover, Greg Swetoha has been named as the new executive vice president for sales operations, which is Panas' previous position. Swetoha is expected to oversee all of Volvo's sales regions, distribution and dealer network.

In 1989, Panas started his career with Ford of Australia. In 1993, he moved to Jaguar Cars of North America. In 2005, he joined Volvo, which was owned by Ford Motor Co. along with Land Rover and Jaguar.

For most of his 24-year career, Swetoha has been in automotive marketing and sales. His most recent position was director of the eastern region for Volkswagen of America. He entered VW in 2008 after 20 years with DaimlerChrysler and Chrysler.
