Talks are progressing between Volvo UK and Polestar for the 500bhp Volvo S60 Polestar Concept to soon enter production. Volvo UK’s managing director Nick Connor said that with the advancement in the negotiations, it’s possible that the S60 would be a reality. Of course, Volvo S60 Polestar numbers would be very small but then again, they’re not making any attempt to conceal the fact that it would be a marketing exercise. When it does enter production, it will be priced higher than £100,000, according to Autocar. It will also keep the power of the concept supercar, stemming from the 3.0-litre turbo’d inline six-pot, and four-wheel drive system. Originally, Polestar came from the team that handled Volvo’s ’90s BTCC efforts. In addition, the manufacturer link continues to be strong. However, Connor reveals that while motorsport and touring cars can’t be ruled out, there’s no immediate plan yet since it’s not a major area of investment for now.
