Vw Golf GTI Street revealed at Wörthersee

Vw Golf GTI StreetAfter the Polo GTI and Golf GTI, news has been pouring in from the Austrian Worthersee GTI conference and this time it about the latest Golf GTI VI study that came about from a shared project of five VW apprentices, namely Stefan Becker (22), Mehmet Cosgun (20), Saskia Muller (20) and Michael Riefenberg (19).

The car study, which is called the Golf GTI Street, a modified hot hatch, highlights a number of mechanical and styling improvements consisting of a more potent variant of the 2.0-liter turbocharged powerplant that has been adjusted to yield 301hp up from 210hp from the standard model. The four-cylinder unit is coupled to a six-speed manual. The handling of the Golf GTI has been improved by tuning the suspension that is currently equipped with a hydraulic height adjustment element together with the addition of a larger stopping system carried over from the Golf R32. The car sits atop 190inch BBS alloy wheels clothed in tires measuring 225/35 R19 by Pirelli. In addition to these improvements, the Golf GTI Street was finished in a two-tone black and white color theme with two white rally stripes on the hood, the roof and on to the rear section. Furthermore, the car comes with a revised bumper at the front, a rear spoiler, tinted rear windows and a new exhaust system that comes with two tail pipe ends. Photo gallery after the jump!
