When it comes to a Wimmer RS tuning package, fans have to come to expect that emphasis will be on the performance and not its appearance. This is evident in the tuning firm‚ latest projects, including the Porsche GT2 Speed and the Ferrari F430 Spider. The stock GTI is capable of 210hp and 280Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque but this goes up to 386 hp and 455 Nm (332 lb-ft) with a top speed of 166mph after it is given a 2.0-liter turbo unit. The boost in performance is said to come from an optimized turbo, the use of a sports CAT, a modified intake system and fuel pump as well as a reprogrammed ECU, among others. In addition, Wimmer RS gave the car a sports clutch and a height-adjustable HR sports coilover suspension system. The buyer has the choice of 18-, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance tires.
