Vw Scirocco takes Top Gear’s “Car of the Year 2008” award

The Top Gear 'Car of the Year 2008' award was given to Volkswagen's new Scirocco. The board of judges was comprised of members of the road test team and journalists from Top Gear publication, the country's largest selling motoring and most broadly read men's magazine, and it's corresponding website, topgear.com, which claims an average of 2 million visitors monthly. The Director of Volkswagen, UK Chris Craft, said that 'The Scirocco has received a fantastic reception since its launch earlier this year and to be named Car of the Year by such a tough and well-respected group of judges is a real honor.
