Wiesmann MF4 Roadster unveiled in Geneva
Wiesmann, the niche German sports car manufacturer, celebrated its 20th anniversary recently and to mark the occasion the company released a series of special ‘20th Anniversary Editions’ models in a matter of a year. The first of these special cars was revealed as the MF4-S GT, and this week at the Geneva Motor Show, the company introduced a new convertible model, the MF4 Roadster.
Derived on the mid-level MF4, the Wiesmann Roadster will receive the same BMW-supplied 4.0-liter V8 unit together with the GT. The maximum power yield is maintained at 367hp (270kW) and drive is channeled to the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission option (the same drivetrain configuration as the BMW M3). Expected to be opened also is a special edition MF4-S Roadster which will feature a more powerful 4.8-liter V8 that can generate 420hp (309kW). The new Roadster will come with a €128,900 price tag. The 6-cylinder MF3 Roadster will continue production also. The new cars will be exclusively limited for sale in Europe only although plans to raise production to 350 units yearly may point to a future sales in other markets as well.
