It appears that Volkswagen has big plans and wants to build some powerful Golf Cabriolet models. After we saw the Golf R Cabriolet Concept, the German manufacturer also unveiled today at the same Worthersee Tour 2011 the Golf GTI Cabriolet Concept. Honestly to tell you we love the car and we’d like to see it on the streets. As you can see from the photos, the Golf GTI Cabriolet Concept features new front and rear spoilers, inspired by the GTI Hatchback, as well as a new front lip spoiler, side sills and rear lip spoiler taken from the motorsport world.
The design is completed by the 19-inch Glendale wheels wrapped in high-performance tires, while behind these them we find Tornado-painted brake calipers featuring the black GTI logo. Under the hood we find the same 2.0-liter TFSI engine capable to deliver 210 hp.
The Golf GTI Cabriolet Concept can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 7.0 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h or 149 mph. It is too early to speak about a production version of this car, but if built, the Golf GTI Cabriolet Concept will definitely become a bestseller!
