Abarth developed the Tributo XSR Concept car to mark the release of the Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth motorbike. This motorbike is the first product to be released by the two brands, both well known for creating dynamic motoring models.
Having the same style as the Yamaha XSR, the Tributo XSR is finished in red and grey livery. Looking at it, it is clear that various parts are made of carbon fiber, highlighting its kinship with that of the Yamaha XSR, particularly with the seat cover, bumper and mudguard in the front, as well as its fairing.
The similarities between the Yamaha XSR and the Tributo XSR do not stop at the style as the two also utilize the same Akrapovic ultra-light exhausts. This particular feature was first made for the racing industry and was fitted in the two as a way to enhance the performance, sonority, and personality. Confirming that the two indeed share a bond is the XSR logo that has been placed on the tailgate.Read the entire article Abarth releases Tributo XSR Concept inspired by Yamaha XSR 900 motorbike

German tuner Zender marks its return to the industry with a comprehensive kit for the Fiat 500 Abarth that it presented at the recently held Frankfurt Motor Show. Zender had gone bust in 2008 but now with the debut of the Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale at the IAA, it announces that it’s truly back. Zender presented the Corsa Stradale in concept form.
It features a highly aggressive body kit and is fitted with a set of 18-inch alloys covered in Pirelli P Zero Black performance tires that measure 215/35 ZR 18. The package also includes a lowered adjustable sports suspension and a customized interior cabin with stainless steel pedals, illuminated door sill strips and custom sport seats.
In the engine department, Zender gave the 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine a boost of 76 bhp (57 kW) over the regular Abarth 500 so it now delivers 236 bhp (176 kW) and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm) of torque. Zender achieved this output by installing a larger turbocharger, modifying the fuel injection with a bigger fuel pressure regulator, as well as by updating the engine management.Read the entire article Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale Concept by Zender
Fiat documents seem to support rumors of a new model slotted between the standard Fiat 500 and the Abarth. The company’s filing with the NHTSA and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) indicate a plan to present a 500T Sport for the 2013 model year. Just in case you were wondering, the T in 500T stands for “turbo.”
This new model is equipped with a weaker version of the U.S.-spec Abarth’s 160-horse turbo four. The chart that Fiat submitted to the NHTSA provided information on how to decode VIN numbers. It shows that a “500T Sport” is listed under Fiat’s 2013-model-year offerings. Fiat listed the trim levels for the base 500 as Pop, Sport, and Lounge.
However, the 500T Sport is listed separately from those and is set apart from the 500C convertible models. It also marks the first time that an Abarth is listed among the convertibles. This isn’t too surprising as there really is such a car but Fiat hasn’t confirmed its arrival to the U.S. yet. The introduction of the 500T is supported with CARB paperwork shown last month. Every engine that will be offered for sale in California gets its own certification even if it will be fitted in numerous vehicles.Read the entire article Fiat 500T Sport, Abarth 500 Convertible coming to united States
The sporting Abarth 500 was named in the top three lowest depreciating cars in the UK, according to a new survey. This proves the effectiveness of the brand’s strategy for its cars to have long-term value. Valuation specialists CAP, who conducted the survey, published the results in the Auto Express edition that came out on March 21.
The Abarth 500, which can go as fast as 128mph, came in at third place behind the Audi Q5 and Skoda Yeti. The survey found that the Abarth 500 has an average resale value of 60% of its list price, based on three years or 30,000 miles use.
This recognition is indicative of Abarth’s efforts to hold off depreciation as much as possible. Since its July 2008 launch, the performance arm of Fiat Group Automobiles has promptly earned a reputation as an appealing brand that consumers wish to own and drive and not just for a short period or only with heavy discounts. Ivan Gibson, head of Abarth in the UK, said that from the beginning, the Abarth brand was designed to offer long-term value.Read the entire article Abarth 500 is one of UK’s lowest depreciating car
