Aston Martin’s On Ice is making its comeback early next year in Crested Butte, Colorado Rocky Mountains for the second season of a two three-day adventure and luxurious driving. The event was a huge success this year, and Aston hopes to replicate that in 2015 in one of the most rugged and demanding environments that drivers could experience in the United States.
Drivers are given the big opportunity to drive Aston’s sports cars in a program that boasts of a 10-acre surface in Colorado constructed over some 250 man-hours for the purpose of entertaining and informing its participants.

In order to celebrate its 65th anniversary the Abarth 500 is now available with a bespoke Abarth Track Experience. Only 65 lucky customers will be able to get the new value package that includes a Record Grey Metallic colour, rear privacy glass, 17-inch 10-spoke Diamond Finish alloy wheels, yellow brake calipers as well as the Abarth Track Experience.
The race tracks available to customers include Oulton Park, Donington Park and Brands Hatch. Abarth 500 comes as standard with a new 7-inch TFT instrument panel, sport buckets, a satin steel twin exhaust and the Blue&Me Bluetooth hands free communication system activated via steering wheel controls.
Under the hood, we find the same 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 135 hp and 206 Nm. If you love fast cars and want to learn how to drive them, we have great news for you as Lamborghini has just announced that it will host the first-ever North American performance driving school from September 14-17, at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
As expected, this year’s Lamborghini Accademia will focus on the brand new Huracan LP 610-4. Only 24 participants will be able to receive a certificate form Lamborghini Squadra Corse after completing morning exercises such as slalom, acceleration, braking, drifting and section training at Laguna Seca’s key corners such as the famous Corkscrew.
In the afternoon, the participants will be able to learn full-course lapping. In October, the Lamborghini Accademia returns to Hockenheim, Germany on October 1-2. Ford is pouring over $1 billion to revive its Lincoln brand, with focus on creating a luxury car-buying experience that will entice younger, better-educated and wealthier buyers. To implement the magic, Ford its teaching its dealers the tricks by having them undergo training at the Lincoln Academy. The academy aims to raise dealer’s consciousness and sharpen their senses with exercises like sampling cheese.
The training was indeed challenging. One of the trainers asked dealers of the age of their customers, several of them relied with numbers in the 70s and 80s. Doug Fiedler, a Lincoln Academy trainer who consults for firms like Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Norwegian Cruise Lines, responded that people who “literally live their whole lives to aspire” to buy a Lincoln. He said that this is not a good business model.
Lingering questions over the state of Ford’s luxury brand were answered through the launch of the Lincoln MKZ luxury sedan – the first of four new or redesigned models in four years. Cadillac has opened to the public its Cadillac V-Series Academy at Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, paving the way for enthusiasts to participate in one- and two-day immersions to learn more about high performance driving in the Cadillac CTS-V. The Cadillac V-Series Academy located just outside Las Vegas boasts of over four miles of racetrack and 125 feet of elevation change.
The Cadillac V-Series Academy at Spring Mountain curriculum will have participants tackle a combination of car control exercises and on-track performance driving – designed to explore the capabilities of Cadillac’s V-Series family. Race car driving icon Ron Fellows, a class winner at the 24 Hours of Daytona and Le Mans, designed the curriculum for the Cadillac V-Series Academy.

Mercedes-Benz revealed further details about the Driving Academy for American teens that it first announced last month. This Driving Academy, which is intended to make the brand more popular and to teach teens the proper way to operate a car, will open first in Los Angeles this October. The Academy will offer the modern style of teaching, with online, classroom and behind-the-wheel training. Carolyn Duchene will head the local branch of the Academy.
She has been with Daimler for a long time and she has been involved in numerous Mercedes projects in training and education. What Mercedes-Benz has prepared for its Los Angeles branch is one of the most comprehensive training programs currently available.

The highly coveted first batch of production Mono sports cars has been delivered to RS Academy, a very exclusive track-driving car club in Europe that’s already famous for its current fleet of supercars.
Starting in early May, the members of the RS Academy will get the chance to drive the two new cars at selected dates and venues. According to RS Academy managing director, Rob Stanbury, the club had been working on this project for several months as they knew that they wanted the Mono concept on their fleet on sight. The Mono sports cars are very quick and are extremely well-engineered.
It’s likely that these track cars will provide members with enjoyment on some of the world’s greatest motor racing circuits. Nissan in Europe and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) will unite to run a third installment of the popular GT Academy in 2011. The competition combines the real and virtual racing worlds, offering the winner the chance to realize the dream of becoming a certified racing driver.
The stakes are high with places at the GT Academy Race Camp to play for and a fully-supported drive in a Nissan 370Z GT4 car in the Dubai 24 Hour International race as the grand prize.

Mercedes Benz’s 2010-2011 edition of the AMG Driving Academy has started. It intends to push drivers to the edge by letting them experience the real nature of an AMG car. The program, which was initiated three years ago, consists of five courses: Emotion, Basic, Advanced, Pro and Masters.
The courses are taken at popular race tracks, including the Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps in Europe and Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta in the US.
There will be 32 participants for the Emotion course, which brings the drivers and AMG-supplied cars on several public routes. They will be touring the AMG plant in Affalterbach and they will participate in a DTM racing weekend or the Bregenz Festival. WBA World Heavyweight Champion David Haye has signed up with the Jaguar Academy of Sport as one of its ambassadors. Haye has taken time off his loaded schedule to confirm his new stint as the Ambassador of the Jaguar Academy of Sport and to start promoting the Best of British sports in the United Kingdom (UK).
18-year-old boxer Jeff Saunders joined the boxing champ at the announcement made at the Jaguar Boutique in London. Haye took the opportunity to share with Saunders his experiences on the ring and even gave him a piece of advice.
Basically, the Jaguar Academy of Sport seeks to celebrate and recognize the best and the success of British sports. If you are going to own a new 2010 Nissan GT-R, you should at least know how to drive it. Thus, Nissan is treating pre-sold buyers of the latest edition of the Godzilla to a driving course at some of the well-known circuits in the world, including the Nurburgring in Germany and Silverstone in the United Kingdom.
Silverstone International instructors have already crossed the threshold of the final phases of a Pan-European driving course – known as the "Best in Class" Nissan Academy -- to further unravel the mystery of the new 2010 Nissan GT-R to no less than 1,300 pre-sold buyers.
The Nissan GT-R driving experience was introduced in August at the home of the British Grand Prix – the Silverstone circuit – where more than 500 owners got a first-time hold on the super saloon vehicle. The first experience was held over 14 days in August. Then, the driving experience shifted to Nurburgring in Germany.
