Acura has unveiled the latest iteration of the Acura NSX at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in Moneterey, California. The 2019 Acura NSX is still as powerful as before, but the luxurious sports car is now a better performer. It also boasts of new colors both on the exterior and interior, as well as a number of new design cues.
The 2019 Acura NSX unveiled at The Quail is finished in a new premium paint option – the Thermal Orange Pearl coat. This new finish is a tribute to 30 years of Acura motorsports vehicles with orange accented liveries. In addition, orange calipers are also available for the optional carbon ceramic metallic (CCM) brakes. Likewise, red calipers can be fitted to the standard iron brakes.
Moreover, the front grille garnish for all 2019 Acura NSX models are now body-colored instead of silver. The front grille surround, front air intake mesh as well as the rear bumper outlet mesh have received high-gloss treatments, and so are the available Carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler and Carbon Fiber Exterior Package. This package includes a front chin spoiler, side sill garnish and rear diffuser – all in high-gloss treatment.Read the entire article 2019 Acura NSX offers better performance, new colors and more standard equipment
Acura is starting a new campaign titled NSX Originals. With this, customers who have purchased the 2017 NSX will get a digital and customized film showcasing their highly distinct and made-to-order supercar. The brand revealed that customers in the U.S. have been sent their own customized film. Through this particular campaign, the brand hopes to celebrate how original the concept was for the New Sports eXperience or NSX.
In total, there are 7 unique film versions with each one exhibiting not only the power offered by the NSX but the beauty and dynamism as well. Indeed, each film sent to the owners has been personalized to meet the exact specifications and the various options of their own NSX. Each film even contains the unique serial number of each of the models. The film also shows both the manufacturing process and the technology involved in bringing the NSX to life. Specifically, 7 processes are shown. These are the space frame construction, advanced paint robotics, NSX Rolling Dynamometer, NSX custom hand assembly, Precision Robotic Weld technology, Three-Motor Sport Hybrid power unit, and Zirconium Bath.

The second-generation Acura NSX certainly no longer looks much like the first design. After all, this is what you’d normally expect as many generations have passed before the new Acura NSX was finally introduced.
But there may be a number of iconic features from the first gen that some of you might be wishing were still there. Let’s picture that for a moment. What if Honda had not replaced them? Do you think the new Acura NSX would be just like the original? Perhaps this is also what rendering artist Peisert Design had in mind when they came up with their latest project.
Obviously, Peisert Design rendered the new Acura NSX closer to the image of the first-generation model. As you can see right here, the rendering artist had almost changed the rear end entirely back to its original form. Since the new model has a curved blade air intake along the edge of the greenhouse that goes down to the beltline and extends all the way to the door panel, Peisert needed to remove most of these parts for him to achieve the old look.Read the entire article Peisert Design takes inspiration from original model in its rendering of new Acura NSX
It looks like famous rap artist Ludacris has finally replaced his 1993 Acura Legend with a new one. The rapper recently received his freshly delivered supercar--- over six months after the new Acura NSX was initially launched. The new Acura NSX comes with a $156,000 starting price and is powered by a 573 hp, 3.5litre V6 twin turbo engine. Mated to a 9-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, it can deliver up to 476lb-ft of torque, allowing it to go from 0-60mph under 2.7 seconds with a top speed reaching 191 mph.
Christopher Brian Bridges aka Ludacris is also known for his role as Tej Parker in the Fast & the Furious. Just last December, the rapper’s social media account revealed the new NSX complete with red interior. So this must be the Christmas present he bought for himself. All these years, the dude has been driving Acura Legend’s 1993 model. That was even before he became a recording star.
Given his style and type of genre, Ludacris is often seen in music videos driving supercars. It only makes sense that he’s got one for personal use. In fact, he’s so open about his 1993 Acura Legend and has always been proud to drive it around. Only last year, the rapper met a minor accident while driving his now famous supercar. But since Ludacris loves his car to death, he had it fully restored by Acura. To set the record straight, he’s clearly not getting rid of the Legend for its sentimental value.Read the entire article Ludacris got a new Acura NSX
You will likely see two new models for the NSX going around the racing circuits this 2017. One of which is the Acura NSX-GT, which will be joining the Supercar GT Series in Japan. The other variant, which is the NSX GT3 will probably take part in the Pirelli World Challenge or the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship. But there is something about the monstrous NSX-GT that will scare the hell out of any car in the series. Yes, including Nissan’s GT-R and Lexus’ latest LC500.
Honda’s NSX-GT is probably the most over-the-top version of the regular coupe’s design. While the NSX GT3 racecar looks insanely gorgeous, the NSX-GT we think, is “dressed to kill”. However, we know it’s too early to tell if it will win the race. Still, the Acura NSX-GT is destined to get most of the attention. Well, that’s because the larger than life front splitter, wide fenders, side sills and rear diffuser are just too hard to overlook.
This monster comes with a huge 2L turbo-charged 4 cylinder with direct injection capable of producing as much as 590hp. This will be mated with a paddle shifted constant mesh gearbox that keeps on revolving. Instead of the usual mid-mounted V6 biturbo hybrid, the NSX powerplant was redesigned to comply with the Super GT specifications.Read the entire article Honda gets ready for 2017 season with furious-looking NSX-GT race car
Cars being displayed at different auto shows are usually displayed on the floor just by themselves. However, since the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show or 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosts the unusual, we can expect some carmakers or tuners to make use of bizarre methods display their show cars. And that is just what Acura is doing at the 2016 SEMA Show for its highly anticipated Acura NSX GT3.
Instead of sitting by itself ever lonely, Acura NSX GT3 sits on a custom trailer seemingly towed by a 2017 Acura MDX. Both are customized works and so is the trailer. Initially developed by Acura’s Japanese race engineering team, the NSX GT3 has been developed to prove that the NSX – while serving as the pinnacle expression of Acura Precision Crafted Performance – could perform basically as well as in GT3 racing.
The new Acura NSX GT3 and the NSX actually have a number of similarities, although the race car has been made distinct enough to enable it to compete in the GT3 class. For instance, both have the same overall design with similar fascias. Both have the same headlights as well as the same precision crafted front grille.Read the entire article 2017 Acura MDX tows new Acura NSX GT3 at 2016 SEMA Show [Live Photos]
Auto shows are hosted every year to showcase various products from automakers and aftermarket specialists alike. These events are the best outlets to market creations ranging from concept cars, to production models, and even to upgraded version of previous models. One particular event is the SEMA Show, an aftermarket trade show that has been annually held in Las Vegas.
For those who do not know, SEMA is an acronym for Specialty Equipment Market Association which consists of more than 6,000 companies worldwide including aftermarket specialists, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), media, car dealers, specialty equipment distributors, installers, retailers and restoration specialists.
An annual SEMA Show is held during the first week of November, in line with the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week. This is where automotive aftermarket trade groups display their newest creations along with educational seminars, networking opportunities and product demonstrations.Read the entire article 2017 Acura MDX arrives as with custom NSX GT3 Trailer at the 2016 SEMA Show
Carbon fiber has become a trend for cars nowadays. It is like the “diet pill” for cars. The car’s weight can be reduced greatly when certain parts or even entire bodies are made of carbon fiber. Other than that, it just simply makes cars look stunning and enhances those that already boast a stunning physique. Sprinkling a little bit of raw carbon on road cars adds an extra bit of kick. This dash of magic has been seen on the door sills of the BMW i3 as well as the entirety of a Ferrari Enzo. Even Honda’s luxury line Acura is following this trend on their all new Acura NSX GT3.
Earlier this year, the most awaited Acura NSX went on sale and we thought it couldn’t get any better than that. But Acura still had a powerful card up its sleeve that even when the NSX was still good as new they just had to release an even better and faster version. Lo and behold, the Acura NSX GT3 made its first appearance at the 2016 New York Auto Show.
The NSX GT3 will be Acura’s entry to the FIA GT3 class this year. It was tested in several race circuits in Europe as well as Japan and was recently tested in California under the supervision of Honda Performance Development race engineering group. The NSX GT3 has a lot in common with the road-legal NSX in terms of overall design, the fascia and headlights as well as its “ultra rigid” and lightweight body. It is slightly different from the standard NSX in terms of features, i.e. new hood with larger vent and taller air dam to assist engine cooling, and larger spoilers are a few of those, while sporting an extensive roll cage and a carbon fiber racing seat. It uses the same engine design as the standard NSX and is powered by the same twin-turbo 3.5-liter DOHC V6. Unlike the standard NSX, power will be sent on the rear wheels of the NSX GT3 using a six-speed, sequential-shift racing transmission. Expect the performance figures to change for the NSX GT3 and for the prices to be significantly higher than the standard NSX, somewhere near the $479,216 base price for the Porsche 911 GT3 R.Read the entire article Acura NSX GT3 is pure madness in bare carbon fiber
The new Acura EV Concept will be fielded in the Electric Modified Class at the 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, as powered by an evolved version of the all-electric, four-motor Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) powertrain that made a dominating case in the 2015 Pikes Peak Challenge Exhibition class.
Inspired by the NSX supercar, the Acura EV Concept will be piloted by Tetsuya Yamano at the 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Yamano remarked that the team has been working on the Acura EV Concept for several weeks at Pikes, thereby significantly advancing the prototype’s performance. He said it will be an honor to pilot the Acura EV Concept at the 100th year of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Yamano piloted the CR-Z-based electric prototype in 2015.
The Acura EV Concept is regarded as a definitive personification of the all-wheel-drive Electric SH-AWD powertrain that features the first technology in the world that allows for four-wheel independent torque allocation. As a point of interest, the Electric SH-AWD powertrain in the Acura EV Concept could provide three times the total system output of 2015 electric prototype. Honda’s "super handling" technology has been in development for over two decades as the carmaker’s R&D seeks to achieve ideal vehicle handling.Read the entire article Acura EV Concept debuts at 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Built to redefine supercar capabilities that provide intense acceleration, powerful brake system, and unparalleled handling, the Acura NSX is truly a cutting-edge design. Still, Andreas Ezelius had a better idea and created an absolutely impressive NSX Concept. Still, we dont think it is better than the latest model and here is why.
The 2017 model is made with various materials using various construction methods and languages to support its enhanced rigidity. The 2017 Acura NSX is mainly improved with the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, which excites the torque vectoring at all driving conditions.
This new system maximizes the capacities of the vehicle’s electric motors in order to produce a yaw moment under any given circumstance. As a result, the Acura NSX can deliver better precision in an instant. Furthermore, with the Super Hybrid SH-AWD solution, drivers can execute exceptionally precise line tracing as they aim to deliver the best performance whether on the track or on the highway.Read the entire article Andreas Ezelius creates a badass Acura NSX Concept
Acura introduced the NSX GT3 racecar at the 2016 New York International Auto Show where it grabbed attention for doing away with technical complexities and staying with the hard-hitting essentials. The company also revealed its plan to start a campaign in North America for a twin-turbocharged supercar by 2017.
At present, the NSX GT3 is undergoing testing and the company expects that by fall, it will be certified as an FIA GT3 class racecar. In addition to customized bodywork, aerodynamic components have been placed in the NSX GT3 such as the underbody diffuser and large deck wing spoiler.
The hood vents have even been enlarged in order to make engine cooling even more efficient. Powering this supercar is the twin turbocharged DOHC 75-degree 3.5-liter V-6 engine. While this engine is indeed powerful, the design specifications are the same as those featured on the production version of the 2017 Acura NSX.Read the entire article Acura presented no-frills NSX GT3 racecar at 2016 New York Auto Show
Acura has revealed that it will start the serial production of the Acura NSX supercar. It is expected to start sometime in late April and will be done at the company’s Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC). Customer deliveries are expected to begin after. The PMC is designed to be a state-of-the-art mix of technology and people. By being able to blend technological innovation and human craftsmanship, PMC is able to use a new method when it comes to constructing the vehicle, assembly, paint, and quality assurance.
The goal is to make sure that the company is able to give customers its DNA of Precision Crafted Performance. In addition, the PMC will also be exclusively manufacturing the NSX supercar. Similar to the NSX, the supercar will be manufactured in the PMC in-house. It will follow what is known as clean-sheet development. What this means is that the facility was designed based on the distinct Multi-Material Body of the NSX as well as its aluminum-intensive space-frame design.
PMC has also been optimized in order to meet the low-volume production of the high-performance specialty vehicles. The engineering large project leader of the PMC is Clement D’ Souza, who was also tasked to oversee the creation of this facility. According to Mr. D’ Souza, all the hard work and innovative thinking that went to the construction of this hi-tech facility have allowed the company to meet its goal of making a supercar in the U.S.Read the entire article Acura to start serial production of NSX supercar in late April
It took $1.2 million, a record breaking amount for a vehicle auction at Barrett-Jackson, to earn the distinction of owning the first-ever next generation 2017 Acura NSX supercar to be produced. Rick Hendrick, who owns Hendrick Motorsports and the founder of Hendrick Automotive Group, will go down in history as the owner of the first production model of this highly anticipated newest member of Acura’s famous NSX line.
In fact, it has been assigned the vehicle identification number (VIN) 001. Two foundations, the North Carolina-based Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Georgia-based Camp Southern Ground which is a sponsored project by Grammy Award winner music artist Zac Brown, will receive full proceeds of the auction.
Acura general manager and vice president Jon Ikeda lauds the spirit of generosity and passion for the new NSX as shown by Mr. Hendrick. He added that driving and owning the first new generation NSX as well as touching the lives of thousands of children are both well-deserved sources of pride and satisfaction for someone as generous as Mr. Hendrick.Read the entire article First 2017 Acura NSX fetches $1.2 million at Barrett-Jackson auction

The order book for the Acura NSX sports car will be opened this summer, although the carmaker has yet to determine which dealers will have the privilege of selling the much-awaited vehicle. “We’re still putting together the requirements necessary to service the car,” Acura General Manager Mike Accavitti told Automotive News.
While all of Acura’s dealers could sell the NSX, some are expected to opt out due of its service requirements. Dealers are also expecting their sales in the United States to surge this year as Acura rolls out the redesigned ILX entry-level sedan and the RDX compact crossover.
Acura is also restructuring its leasing program to make it more attractive, Accavitti said. Acura’s dealers are also training sales associates who will educate buyers on the benefits of leasing.Read the entire article Acura to start accepting orders for NSX supercar this summer
Not long after unveiling the new Acura NSX supercar at the Detroit Auto Show, executives at the premium carmaker are already mulling to add more offerings as part of the brand’s revival plan. "The opportunity for us would be to maybe add another arrow in the quiver, another model in the lineup," Erik Berkman, head of the Acura Business Planning Office said at the show.
He noted that compared to Acura’s rivals, there are some categories in which the premium unit of Honda is not competing, like coupe and compact crossover segments. He added that they are considering an upmarket version of the Honda HR-V compact crossover underpinned by the Fit platform.
But getting the higher ups at Honda’s main headquarters back at Japan approve those offerings is another story. Acura’s executive could consider a lot of things, but only a few may make sense to their bosses in Tokyo, especially if the premium brand is selling well in the United States.Read the entire article Acura execs already mulling new models after NSX supercar
The highly anticipated 2016 Acura NSX supercar arrived today at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and as expected, the new vehicle looks absolutely amazing. Clearly inspired by the NSX concepts that we’ve seen, the new 2016 Acura NSX is powered by an all-new mid-mounted, 75-degrees, DOHC V6 engine with twin turbochargers bolted to an Acura-developed 9-speed DCT transmission.
In addition, there is a rear direct-drive electric motor located between the engine and transmission, which supports acceleration, braking and transmission shifting performance. Furthermore, the NSX’s front wheels are driven by twin independent high-output electric motors, which provide an instantaneous “zero delay” launch performance and handling response.
Handling is also enhanced by the Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) system. Compared with the previous concepts, the production vehicle was lengthened (+3 inches) and widened (+1 inch), in order to accommodate the new longitudinally mounted twin-turbo V6 and 9-speed DCT.Read the entire article NAIAS: 2016 Acura NSX officially revealed with longitudinally mounted twin-turbo V6
Acura officially announced that the production version of its highly anticipated NSX supercar will be revealed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. There aren’t too many details but we do know that the vehicle will be powered by a three-motor, twin-turbocharged Sport Hybrid power unit. The NSX will use a mid-mounted, direct-injected V6 petrol engine paired to Honda’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system.
In addition, the powertrain will be installed with a distinct 2-Electric Motor Drive Unit that comes with bilateral torque adjustable control system that will provide positive or negative torque to the front wheels during cornering.
The interior of the NSX displays intuitive and simple controls and shows off excellent forward visibility. The seat offers ergonomics that is ahead of everyone else in its segment. It also leads in holding performance and offers outstanding comfort while delivering easy egress and ingress. NSX Interior Design Project Leader Johnathan Norman revealed that the NSX was designed beginning on the inside and going outside and come with that uncompromising attention on the driver.Read the entire article Production version of Acura NSX supercar will be revealed at 2015 Detroit Auto Show
As you may know already, a prototype version of the upcoming Acura NSX caught fire yesterday while testing on the Nurburgring, Germany. An Acura spokesman confirmed the fire, like he had other choice, and said that the company is investigating the cause. Still, he didn’t want to give any more details as the vehicle is still under development, but he did say that no injuries occurred.
The fire doesn’t mean that the NSX will not be the best sports car, as several cases happened before. What we do know is that it will be powered by a V6 engine combined with Acura’s Sport Hybrid all-wheel-drive setup, a three-motor high-performance system.
According to the company, one of the motors will be integrated with the V6 engine and the new dual-clutch transmission that deliver the power to the rear wheels, while the other two electric motors will send the power to the front wheels.Read the entire article Acura NSX catches fire on Nurburgring, company refuses to share any details
Chief engineer Ted Klaus told Autocar about how thrilled he is about the new hybrid supercar, the 2015 Acura NSX. He said that it is expected to start selling in 2015 and that it offers the “excitement of the [Ferrari] 458 at the price of the [Porsche] 911.”
Klaus didn’t unveil additional information about the 2015 Acura NSX, explaining that it’s much more than a set of impressive statistics. He said that while its power figure “won’t grab headlines”, it boasts qualities that are more important, like “driver involvement and pleasure.”
Klaus has stated in the past that his team intends the 2015 Acura NSX to be a benchmark against six supercars: the Audi R8 GT, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, Nissan GT-R, and the Porsche 911.Read the entire article Acura NSX will deliver the excitement of a Ferrari 458 with the price of a 911
