Audi A6 (C8) is still quite fresh in the market but already, artists have been rendering the said model, with variants of their own. Recently, we saw a hot RS6 makeover of the sporty saloon, but now, artist Tobias Buttner gives us his take on the German luxury saloon, giving it a more rugged theme. As you could see in the photos, this is a rendering of the A6 Allroad model. Like all the Allroad models, it adopts new body cladding and a higher ride height, both in an effort to enhance off road practicality.
The standard styling cues of the standard A6 are carried over, of course, but there are also a number of unique variations to note. For instance, the grille, while still large and imposing, features vertical chrome inserts as opposed to the horizontal design found of the standard model. The accenting vents have been made more subtle, and there is a silver running board located just below the grille.
Expect the ride height to be a little higher, and there’s plastic body cladding around the wheels that assures that it will be able to take on tougher roads, without leaving the paint of the fenders scratched. The previous model is just a bit taller, with its height raised by just 3.5 centimeters (35 mm) over the standard sedan, with an available one extra centimetre (10 mm) of lift available at low speeds. Expect similar figures for the new model; that is, if Audi chooses to build it.Read the entire article Tobias Buttner renders a rugged, more capable 2019 Audi A6 (C8) Allroad
The highly advanced, elegant, and practical Audi prologue allroad is set to make its world premiere at Auto Shanghai. This show car has five doors and its body has been raised, giving it a tougher stance. Digital interaction between the driver and the passengers is possible in this concept. All of Audi’s allroad models do not disappoint. The same is true with the Audi prologue allroad. It can be recalled that fifteen years ago, Audi released the allroad Quattro, a new class of automobile that broke a lot of boundaries. This car features the dynamics and comfort of luxury cars but with optimum variability and a superb off-road ability.
What Audi shows off at the China show is a fresh version of its allroad theme, giving us a glimpse of the brand’s future in terms of design. The Audi prologue allroad measures 5.13 metres and features a long front-end and a roofline that quickly drops again. Its very flat D-pillars make its profile more athletic and showcase the allroad concept’s dynamics and elegance in a fresh manner.Read the entire article Audi Prologue Allroad Concept set to launch at Auto Shanghai

Audi officially introduced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show the Allroad Shooting Brake Concept, a vehicle that actually previews the next-generation TT sports car. The Audi Shooting Brake Concept is powered by a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine rated at 292 hp and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque.
The engine operates together with a disc-shaped electric motor via a decoupling clutch; the electric motor outputs 40 kW of power and 270 Nm (199.14 lb-ft) of torque. The electric motor is integrated in the six-speed e-S tronic, which delivers the power to the front wheels. A second electric motor is available and mounted on the rear axles. Delivering 85 kW and 270 Nm (199.14 lb-ft) of torque.
If the hybrid management system decides that all-wheel drive makes sense, then the second electric motor is used. In such situations, e.g. on a slippery road or in light off-road conditions, this essentially makes the Audi allroad shooting brake an e-tron quattro. A lithium-ion battery is also available and located just forward of the rear axle.Read the entire article 2014 NAIAS: Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept previews next-generation TT

Audi introduced a new variant of its Allroad wagon at the Detroit Auto Show. Set to arrive in showrooms in the spring, the Allroad is built on A4 underpinnings and will be the replacement of the Avant variant in Audi's U.S. lineup for the 2013 model year. Audi hasn’t offered the Allroad in the U.S. since 2005. The wagon is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine, which has an output of 211 hp and 258 pounds-feet of torque.

Audi has announced that the Allroad, its jacked-up all-wheel-drive station wagon, will go back to the U.S. The A6 is the lone Audi Allroad model left that’s available in the U.S. Since that time, Audi had discontinued the A6 Avant altogether, which makes a lower-volume upgrade trim such as the Allroad quite unfeasible.
However, Audi is now working on making the Allroad come back but it will be smaller. It’s likely that the A4 Allroad would be the model that will be revived and will feature the gray bumpers, wider track, and extra ground clearance.
The A4 Allroad is offered in Europe with the 2.0-liter turbo four that’s on the A4, as well as 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter turbo-diesels. It’s also likely that there would also be a 2.0T gas engine. This coincides with the current A4′s mid-cycle facelift.Read the entire article Audi to bring the A4 Allroad to the United States

Audi always causes suspense for its customers in the US every time it comes up with an upmarket model since it does not immediately release the availability of their cars for that market. This is what happened with the R8 V10 which still remains to be announced whether the 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro will make it to the North American shores.
In a matter of seven years from 2000 to 2006 the company has sold an A6 variant of the Allroad only to halt sales when it dropped to 2,429 units in the last year in the North American market. There were no justifications for the importation of the second generation of the car which remained selling in the European market.
Audi now has introduced a smaller variant that may be an appropriate replacement for the SUVs which are fast declining in popularity in the US. When Audi launched the A6 it was a high time for big SUVs and it was difficult for a new concept to rival the popularity of the SUV back then.Read the entire article 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro to make U.S. debut
