Morgan Motor Company celebrates 110 years with four 110 Anniversary models

Only a few carmakers can boast of being in existence for more than century. One of these is Morgan Motor Company, a family-owned British carmaker that founded by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan. Based in Malvern, Worcestershire, Morgan will be celebrating its 110th year anniversary next year (2019) and it will do so with a loud band – by releasing a new range of ‘110 Anniversary’ models.

Currently, Morgan has four vehicles on its range -- the 1.6-liter 4/4, 2.0-liter Plus 4, the 3.7-liter V6-powered Roadster and the 3 Wheeler. It used to be five, but Morgan discontinued V8-engined Plus Eight earlier this year.

The range will include four ‘110 Anniversary’ models, each featuring distinct celebratory badging to indicate its importance as a 110 edition vehicle. According to Morgan, each 110 edition model will feature a specially selected performance as well as styling options that come at no extra charge.

2018 BMW M3 30 years American Edition is up for grabs for $130,110 in Los Angeles

We first saw the 30 Years American Edition of the BMW M3 (F80) at SEMA last year. This model was created to celebrate three decades of the sports sedan in the United States. And if you were tuned in at that time, you would know that only one car was ever made and it was dressed in a snazzy Frozen Red II Metallic hue that is combined with19 inch front and 20 inch golden M Performance alloy wheels.

And believe it or not, when it first made its debut at Las Vegas, the said model came with a price tag of $128,635. That is double the price of a standard M3 that costs an average $66,500.

Today, the said model has a value of $130,110, and this one off M3 with all the extra cool bits has been put up for sale by a dealer in Los Angeles. This model comes equipped with the optional Competition Package, together with a six speed manual gearbox.

BMW unveils the M4 Convertible (F83) Edition 30 Jahre

Back in 1988, the Bavarians of BMW M decided to chop the roof off one of their cars to create a high performance M3 convertible. And now, the automakers feel the need to celebrate that moment. That being said, check out this new BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre, following other anniversary models like that of last year’s 7 Series, 2016’s M3, and 2014’s M5.

The special edition M4 Convertible comes equipped with the M Competition Package and some other M goodies. This includes an adaptive suspension with sport mode, a sport exhaust system, and an active differential. Under its hood is a biturbo inline-six 3.0 liter engine that has been tweaked to bring out 450 horsepower (331 kilowatts), thanks to the very same package.

The automaker did not mention anything with regards to the car’s speed and acceleration though. But the standard model can hit the 62 miles per hour sprint in 4.6 seconds before hitting its top speed of 155 miles per hour.

Lexus brings special edition 10th anniversary models of the GS F and RC F to Chicago Auto Show

To celebrate 10 years of its high-performance F cars, Lexus plans to come out with a couple of special edition models. These will include a 2018 Lexus GS F sedan, together with an RC F Coupe, and both will be dressed to make them stand out when they’re on display at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. Both models will be given the same gray suit with blue accents inside and out.

This may already sound familiar to you, as the automaker actually has already brought them to the Tokyo Motor Show late last year. But what we know at that time was that those models will be exclusive to the Japanese market only – apparently, that has changed.

And yes, we are right about that. Though it will just be a limited model in the US, with only 340 units, the good news is that it will be available, and it will likely be very difficult to get one. Only 240 anniversary versions of the RC F coupe will be built, and 100 units of the thinner GS F sedans will get the special treatment. Each Lexus dealer in the US will only carry one unit of the coupe.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Smart brand in the United States. The company aims to celebrate this milestone by launching a special edition 10th Anniversary Edition of the Fortwo Coupe Electric Drive sometime this year.

The Anniversary Edition will be painted in an exclusive shade of blue which they call the Sapphire Blue Metallic, while the exterior will be getting 10th Anniversary badges to give the car some accents. It will be sitting on a set of 16-inch Brabus Monoblock VII wheels, painted in Matte Anthracite Grey to give it a little contrast. Overall, we think that it has a cool colour combination, with the dark blue body and the wheels that stand out.

Most of the changes for the special edition car can be found on the exterior. Though there are changes in the cabin, they may not be as significant. And the only obvious ones include the Brabus-supplied parts for the shift knob and floor mats. Unlike the regular model, the 10th Anniversary Edition model will be getting the Sport Package as a standard. This means that it will be getting brushed stainless steel pedal covers and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Believe it or not, the first time Chevrolet produced a truck was 100 years ago, and to celebrate their 100th year in 2018, the automaker will make special-edition trims for the Silverado and the Colorado. To make it even more exclusive, both models were painted in Centennial Blue, and have exclusive heritage-styled bowtie emblems and badges that spell “100-year” that were inspired by Chevy trucks from 1918 and beyond.

The Centennial treatment for the 2018 Colorado will be offered on Z71 trim levels in either Crew or Extended-Cab configurations. The 100-year-badge can be found on doors, while the heritage bowtie logos can be found on the front and rear, a spray-in bedliner, rubber floor mats with the same bowties. The Colorado will be riding on 18-inch wheels including chrome trim for the tow hooks and other exterior trim.

On the other hand, the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado Centennial pack will only be available on the LTZ Z71 trim in Crew Cab configuration. Similar to the Colorado, the Silverado will be wearing the various exterior badges, floor mats, bedliner, and extra chrome trim. It will then be sitting on 22-inch chrome-trimmed wheels and the steering wheels will get a chrome bowtie badge too.

A pickup truck that is soon celebrating its 50th birthday has the right to be invincible, especially if it has conquered various terrains and weather conditions not only in one part of the globe, but around the world – including the North Pole and the slopes of Icelandic volcanoes. Building on this, the Toyota Hilux celebrates its half-a-century of existence in the global pickup truck market with the unveiling of a special edition model at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Dubbed as the Toyota Hilux Invincible 50, this special edition show car marks 50 years of the pickup truck’s dominance in the global market. Toyota Hilux Invincible 50 marks the iconic status of the pickup truck around the world.

Toyota first released the Hilux in 1968, and commenced its sales in Europe a year after in 1969. After eight generations and nearly 50 years, more than 18 million units have found their way into customers’ hands, not just in a few markets, but in more than 180 countries and regions around the world. This is why the Toyota Hilux can be seen on the roads and even the off-roads of Europe, North and South Americas, Africa and Asia. In fact, the iconic pickup truck has already conquered a number of challenging places and events, like in Antarctica, the Dakar Rally and the Top Gear program of TV channel BBC.

Luxury automakers often come up with something special or limited when celebrating special events like anniversaries or when they reach a milestone. And this year, McLaren celebrates their 50th F1 anniversary. So the first thing you’ll probably ask is, what special edition model are they going to unveil? Well, it isn’t an F1 car, but a road bike instead.

The street bike is a product of McLaren and Specialized as they work together to build a bike that would blend in with any road race, while celebrating fifty years of historic grand prix and Formula One racing. They call this the S-Works McLaren Roubaix, a road bike with a handful of collaborations between both brands, after the Venge, the S-Works Tarmac and the Venge ViAS.

Looking at it from afar, it looks like it had been painted in yellow. But it is actually finished in a custom Heritage Orange that mimic the automaker’s race cars and modern street legal vehicles, accented with matte black parts. The road bike uses McLaren’s own data logging software that works hand in hand with the Rolling Efficiency Simulator, which is the software they use when designing a part of the bike.

BMW will be releasing a limited edition 7 Series in the same way that the 3 Series and 5 Series models got their own anniversary editions from the previous years. The BMW 7 Series Edition 40 Jahre, which is limited to only 200 examples, will be manufactured at BMW’s Dingolfing plant in Germany. Interestingly, this is also where the 7 Series was born and has been produced since 1977.

In line with the celebration of its 40th year, BMW is offering two special paint variants exclusively available from its very own Individual catalogue. Customers can choose between the Petrol Mica metallic (7 Series’ original body color) and the Frozen Silver metallic body paint. Its array of enhancements will include the brand’s high gloss Shadow Line trim, a new set of BMW Individual light V-spoke alloy wheels, as well as BMW’s M Aerodynamics Package. All limited-run 7 Series 40 Jahre also come with specially marked B-pillar coverings and door pillars to underline the segment’s 40 years of existence.

BMW’s Individual package is prominent as well inside the cabin such as the brand’s soft premium leather upholstery. The choices available are either in Smoke White/Black or Smoke White/Cohiba two color combinations. Any color scheme selected comes with a pair of limited edition comfort cushions in Smoke White which includes floor mats and Alcantara headliner of the same color. Depending on the choice of upholstery combination, the floor mat’s edging can be had either in brown or black while the accents can be availed either in Piano black lacquer or Smoke brown woodgrain.

Fifty years ago, engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher left Mercedes-Benz and decided to rent a barn in Burgstall an der Murr just by Stuttgart where they created the “AMG Motorenbau und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH”. To keep you enlightened, “AMG” comes from the initials of their surnames, while the “G” comes from the initial of Grossapach, that was Aufrecht’s hometown back then.

A decade after AMG has been established by the two, the headquarters was moved to Affalterbach, but development of race car engines remained in Burgstall. In 1993, AMG became popular when people knew that they were the ones upgrading Mercedes models. This was the beginning of a new collaboration between both companies, and the C36 was the first mass-market car launched to compete against the BMW M3 (E36).

On January 1, 1999, Daimler-Chrysler bought 51 percent of AMG shares, then renaming it Mercedes-AMG GmbH. And by January 2005, Mercedes-AMG has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG.

If you fancy owning any automaker's limited edition releases then the Land of the Rising Sun is the place to be. The German automaker will be releasing a one of a kind G63 AMG 50th Anniversary Edition to celebrate Mercedes-AMG's 50 years in the automotive biz. However, Mercedes G63 will only be limited to Japan.

The 50th Anniversary Edition G63 will have only 50 units, and will be painted in Mauritius metallic paint that will give an even more premium look to the G63. The roof, fenders, contrast, mirrors and even the side trim will have the classy gloss black finish. To match the shadow look, a set of 20 inch AMG five spoke wheels is also fitted. Red callipers are also attached behind the black wheels that show off the large brakes.

Not to be left behind when it comes to swanky designs, Mercedes created an interior that boasts of high class Designo leather with diamond stitching. The interior of the G56 is also offered in 4 2-tone shades. In particular, 24 units will be produced in Porcelain white, 15 will have a black interior, 6 boasting of a Mocha Brown interior, and the last 5 will have a Saddle Brown toned interior. 3 of them will be bearing black leather for a 2-tone design. This one takes the cake for the ultimate customer service. A centenarian treats himself for hitting the 100 year mark by purchasing a £100k Lexus. Upon hearing of the purchase, Lexus decided to make the celebration a bit more special, by customizing the luxury car the centenarian will never forget.

Who is the gentleman in question? He is Barry High OBE who hails from Blockley and is duly recognized as a loyal customer to the Japanese automaker.

Barry High joined the Royal Engineers in the Army when he left school, and by the time the World War 2 concluded, he has risen up to the rank of Major. Afterwards his main trade was construction. He reportedly bought as many as 25 automobiles from Lexus Cheltenham for the last 16 years. Sixty-four years ago, Chevrolet introduced the very first Corvette. And to celebrate its 65th anniversary in 2018, the company decided to launch a special edition C7 at the upcoming auto show in New York.

Only 650 units of the Carbon 65 Edition will be produced - and that number does not need further explanation as it is pretty obvious why. Though the American package is limited to 650 units which will be sold globally, it is not as limited as the Japan-only Heritage Edition Grand Sports, at only five units. The Corvette Carbon 65 Edition will be available on the 2018 Grand Sport 3LT and the Z06 3LZ.

June 30, 1953 was when the very first Corvette came to life. Built at the Flint factory in Michigan, all 300 units were finished with white exterior paired with a red upholstery. But Chevrolet is veering from this colour scheme (for this model, at least). And for the 2018 special edition, the colour palette will be way different from the original Corvette.

The renowned Shelby Super Snake is now 50 years old! As we greet the Super Snake a “happy birthday” or a “happy anniversary,” Shelby itself is celebrating half a century of this ultra-high performance muscle car with a new generation car.

Just like its 1967 and 2007 predecessors, the 2017 Shelby Super Snake is based on the Ford Mustang. For the latest generation of the Shelby Super Snake, the base was the 2017 Ford Mustang GT Fastback. A number of tweaks have been made to transform the 2017 Ford Mustang GT into the 2017 Shelby Super Snake. Shelby American and Ford Performance worked hand in hand to deliver the latest generation of the Super Snake, with the cooperation of partners like Borla, Michelin and Wilwood.

At its finest form, the 2017 Ford Mustang GT – powered by an already powerful 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine – could provide 435 hp of output at 6,500 rpm and 400 lb.-ft. of torque available at 4,250 rpm. However, as powerful as it is, the Mustang GT is no match for the Shelby Super Snake. The numbers say it all. The now supercharged V8 engine in the Shelby Super Snake is rated to deliver 670 hp, or around 54 percent more power than on the Ford Mustang GT.

According to Alpina, the 4.4-liter V8 engine will deliver 600 hp (441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, making the B5 Bi-Turbo and B6 Bi-Turbo their most powerful models ever developed.

The company says that the heavily-revised engine found on both models received two Alpina-developed water-cooled intercoolers close coupled to the turbochargers, a large-capacity oil radiator and suplimentary coolant radiator, a large-volume air-cooled intercooler located behind the bespoke front spoiler, new light-weight pistons, a high-capacity fuel system and other unique upgrades.

In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the McLaren F1 GTR victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, McLaren Special Operations introduced a limited edition model based on the 650S. Dubbed the McLaren 650S Le Mans, the new edition will see a limited production of just 50 units, all coupes, that will be available globally.

Designed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) in consultation with Peter Stevens a.k.a. the designer of the legendary McLaren F1, the new McLaren 650S Le Mans features a number of styling enhancements from the iconic race-winner.

The most noticeable is the roof-mounted snorkel air intake that channels airflow to the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, but also the ‘Le Mans Edition’ lightweight wheels (19-inch front/20-inch rear) inspired by the motorsport rims found on the 1995 racers.

Back in May 2014, BMW introduced the 30th anniversary Edition of the M5 called “30 Jahre M5”, a model which would see a production of just 300 units, with only 30 of them reaching the United States. 29 units were sold immediately, but the last one has been auction at an event organized by Barrett-Jackson.

The high-performance German sedan was auctioned for a staggering $700,000 and the lucky buyer is NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrik. Still, what’s even more interesting is that the money will go to the BMW Club of America Foundation. For those who don’t know, the BWM M5 “30 Jahre M5” is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that generates 600 hp (441 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

As a result, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, while top speed is 155 mph (250 km/h) or 305 km/h (189 mph) when equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package.
