After the Pantera reboot made its debut on January 31st, Ares Design announced plans to give another modern supercar a classic makeover. The revival of De Tomaso’s legendary model is based on the Lamborghini Huracan, while the Project Pony will be using the same underpinnings as that of the Ferrari GTC4Lusso. As for its bodywork, it will remind you of Maranello’s models from years before.
For Ares Design’s projects lined up for 2018, they will take inspiration from a trio of boxy grand tourers offered by Ferrari from 1972 up until 1989. These models include the 365 GT4 2+2, 400i, as well as the 412. Soon, Ferrari will bring these guys back to life in the Project Pony teased here in an official sketch. And by looking at the sketches, it seems like these models will be built with the full carbon fiber coach built body.
The Ferrari 412, the 400i, and the 365 GT4 were never the prettiest of Ferraris. And because not that many were sold, these models are now considered very rare, especially with their boxy design. While the V12-powered Mercedes-AMG G65 is considered as the most powerful factory-built unit that anyone can get with its 621hp output, the creation by Ares Design offers even more power. Certain tuners are known for wanting to break ground and test limits. For this upscale-looking beast, there’s Modena-based coachbuilder Ares Design to thank. This tuner was actually founded in 2015 by former CEO of Lotus, Dany Bahar.
Just recently, Ares Design revealed the X-Raid. It is a dramatic looking coachbuilt G-Class that produces 760 horsepower (566 kilowatts). That is almost 140 horsepower more than the factory built G65. The Ares X-Raid was based on the Mercedes-AMG G63, and it even uses the same 5.5 liter V8 by AMG. But it was tuned to perform even better than what it can already do. As for performance, the X-Raid has a limited top speed of 155 miles per hour (249 kilometers per hour).
As mentioned earlier, the X-Raid has quite an interesting design. Though it may look like a heavy car, the body panels were made with lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum, which cuts down around 440 pounds (200 kilograms) compared to the original factory version. It now sits on a set of 22-inch forged wheels especially made by Ares Design. And for the interior, it gets a custom made X-Raid steering wheel, and now has a “completely new cockpit”. Modena, Italy-based Ares Design is relatively a new company in the field of bespoke automotive design and modifications. But in the short time, Ares Design has demonstrated its capability of creating high-quality coach-built cars. Now, it is out to prove that once again, it can convert almost any vehicle into a bespoke creation through the new Project Wami.
Project Wami is Ares Design’s latest work, with the promise of becoming one of the most enticing roadsters ever made. However, there is yet no actual, final product at sight – the roadster has yet to exist. According to Ares Design, project is currently in its development stage. Nonetheless, based from the images released by the Italian tuning company, the Project Wami roadster looks gorgeous and holds a lot of promise.

The 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas in just around the corner (October 30 to November 2), and people are expecting special parts and equipment as well as concept builds to show up. Three of the builds that are going to the 2018 SEMA Show will be derived from the seventh generation of the Volkswagen Jetta, as announced by Volkswagen of America, Inc.
These Jetta builds are the H&R Special Springs Jetta R-Line, Air Design USA Jetta SEL and the Jetta S by Jamie Orr. All of them will be displayed at various locations in the Las Vegas Convention Center on the entire duration of the 2018 SEMA Show.
Wrapped in the Habanero Orange factory finish, the H&R Special Springs Jetta R-Line is a build that highlights the aftermarket suspension offerings from H&R Special Springs. It features H&R Street Performance Coil Overs and Trak+ wheel spacers that brought the Jetta closer to the ground. It rides on 19 x 8.5-inch Rotiform BUC wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tires. BMW will launch the fourth generation of its X5 SUV to the global market in March 2019. Its high-performance version, the X5 M, would follow but that would take some time. As there would be customers who want their new X5 looks sportier than usual, BMW is allowing them to dress up their SUVs in M style through M Performance Parts.
Just in time for the global launch of the new X5 (05), BMW will be offering an extensive range of M Performance Parts, as available through the Original BMW Accessories program. Just like any other M Performance Parts, the ones that will be available for the new X5 were developed through racing expertise of BMW M. All of these M Performance Parts have a functional purpose, such as enhancing the X5’s aerodynamics or contributing to its already intelligent lightweight concept.
A number of M Performance Parts for the new X5 are made from carbon fiber, giving the SUV a more striking appearance inspired by motor racing. A customer looking for a new Chevrolet Camaro is definitely up for the thrill. At the peak, this can be provided the Camaro ZL1, especially when installed with the 1LE package. But the Camaro ZL1 1LE is no match for the Camaro created by Specialty Vehicle Engineering, Inc. After all, this version of the Camaro – the 2019 YENKO/SC Stage II Camaro -- can deliver up to 1,000 hp of mind-boggling output.
This isn't to say that the Chevrolet Camaro isn't a fast car. After all, even in its “weakest” version, the Camaro is a sports car that still offers considerable 275 hp of max output and 295 lb.-ft. of peak torque from its 2.0-liter Turbo SIDI engine. This is the same engine found in the 1LT and 2LT versions of the Camaro, but with the addition of a number of features.
For those who wanted more, the carmaker is offering the Chevrolet Camaro 1SS and 2SS. They are powered by a 6.2-liter V8 DI engine that can provide up to 455 hp of output and up to 455 lb.-ft. of torque. Here comes a 6x6 pickup truck that can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. It isn't only mean and fully capable, but is also menacingly fast. We are referring to the all-new Hennessey Goliath 6X6, the latest creation of North American automotive tuner Hennessey Performance (HPE).
The new Hennessey Goliath 6X6 is essentially HPE’s follow-up to the VelociRaptor 6X6, which was unleashed in 2017. While the VelociRaptor 6X6 sounds faster than the Goliath 6X6, the latter is actually quicker on the sprint.
HPE created the Hennessey Goliath 6X6 from a Chevrolet Silverado, in particular from a Trail Boss Z71 model. This version of the Silverado was already a capable machine off the road. Sir Stirling Craufurd Moss is a real legend in the world of motorsport. Winning 212 of the 529 races he entered, he is considered as the greatest driver never to win the World Championship. One of his racing highlights came while driving a Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione. This equally legendary car gave Sir Stirling three wins, including the 1960 Goodwood Tourist Trophy.

The new Ferrari 812 Superfast is wrapped in a dark blue (Blu Scozia Opaco) paintwork with a white stripe and roundels, similar to the livery of the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione driven by Sir Stirling. Finally, someone thought and succeeded in reviving back to life one of the legends of rallying -- the Lancia Delta Integrale. This comes months after another rallying icon – the Lancia Stratos -- was resurrected by Manifattura Automobili Torino from the skeletons of a Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Now, Automobili Amos is introducing the heavily reworked Lancia Delta Futurista.
The Lancia Delta Futurista is derived from a 1989 Lancia Delta Integrale. Eugenio Amos and his company Automobili Amos embarked on a project to create a car that is “pure, analogic, raw, and essential,” in contrast to today’s vehicles that heavily employ computer.
Amos’ pet project employs the chassis of the 1989 Lancia Delta Integrale as the base. From there, the company worked to make the Delta Futurista stay faithful Lancia heritage in terms of overall. While keeping in line with Lancia’s iconic looks, the Delta Futurista has nearly everything updated. With a starting price of around $163,000, the new BMW i8 Roadster (I15) is one of the most expensive offerings on the market from the premium German carmaker carmaker. It is around $20,000 more expensive from its hard-roofed twin, the i8 Coupe. Yet, such a high price doesn’t mean more elements can be added. In fact, renowned German tuner AC Schnitzer have a number of things to offer for the new i8 Roadster.
To sum up the overall effect of these add-ons and to provide clients a good picture of how their BMW i8 Roadster (I15) would like when the extra components have been installed, AC Schnitzer built a sample car. This i8 (I15) by AC Schnitzer looks meaner and more aggressive than a typical i8 Roadster, thanks to the number of added aerodynamic elements, new wheels, lower ride height and a sportier interior.

When Mil-Spec Automotive unveiled the Launch Edition of its own makeover version of the Hummer H1 in May this year, the restoration/modification shop managed to attract not just the attention of the few. From its exterior to its interior, the Mil-Spec H1 Launch Edition definitely takes the Hummer H1 military-based civilian four-wheel drive utility into a new level. Now, the company is upping the tempo by releasing Truck #002 of the Mil-Spec H1.
The Mil-Spec H1 Truck #002 is essentially a follow-up to the H1 Launch Edition. The H1 Launch Edition was very impressive to the point that a customer eventually called Mil-Spec and asked the ute restoration/modification shop to build an iteration that suits his tastes and preferences. For this customer, ordering a Mil-Spec H1 truck seemed to be the next logical thing to do. A classic Porsche evolved and optimized by modern engineering techniques and technologies – this is the Singer DLS Porsche 911. Taking part at the highly prestigious 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new Singer DLS Porsche 911 is a bespoke creation by Singer Vehicle Design and Williams Advanced Engineering that boasts of more power yet lower weight that the model it was based on.
It all started when a customer named Scott Blattner approached Singer Vehicle Design and asked the company to not just restore but also re-imagine his 1990 Porsche 911 (964 Generation) as a more powerful yet lighter sports car. Sensing it needs help for this one-of-a-kind project, Singer approached Williams Advanced Engineering. The collaboration between Singer and Williams to come up with a bespoke creation started around two years ago. Eventually, Singer and Williams, along with former Porsche engineers Norbert Singer and Hans Mezger as well as other technical partners, worked hard to re-imagine the 1990 Porsche 911.
In the process, the partners decided into inject into the project car a number of alluring features. Thus, from a standard two-wheel drive 1990 Porsche 911, born was Singer DLS Porsche 911. The DLS stands for Dynamics and Lightweighting Study, which appropriately conveys the fact that the DLS Porsche 911 is more powerful and weighs lighter than the original model. As it is, the 1990 Porsche 911 is powered by an engine that delivers 247 hp, and weighs around 3,031 lbs. The 993 generation of the Porsche 911 (Porsche 993) is already considered as an icon. Gunther Werks, a company from Southern California, has dedicated itself into re-mastering this icon by embedding modern technologies and features. Its Gunther Werks 400R is seen as a modern yet classic masterpiece, and the company has already commenced the limited production run of this bespoke 993 conversion.
The Gunther Werks 400R is essentially a high-performance, bespoke vehicle that pays tribute to the naturally aspirated Porsche 993. Featuring both the silhouette and soul of the classic 993, the 400R is lighter yet stronger and more rigid than the original model. This is thanks to the use of carbon-fiber composite for the body panels, roof, deck lid and spoiler.
Gunther Werks ultimately decided to limit the production run of the 400R to 25 examples. However, each example is completely bespoke. Providing their own 993 as a base, customers could choose from a limitless palette of exterior finishes and even personalize the interior according to whims, choosing their choice of colors, patterns and materials. Even the suspension setup could be configured to the preferences of each Gunther Werks client. This car is certainly a Nissan GT-R, judging from a number of design cues typical of the legendary Godzilla of the automotive world. However, it looks distinctly different; it is as if this GT-R was released from its limits. A product of the collaboration between Nissan and Italdesign, the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is all set to be unveiled in metal in Europe in July 2018.
For now, GT-R fans and enthusiasts could feast on the video and images released by Nissan and Italdesign. This ultra-limited GT-R prototype commemorates the 50th anniversaries of both the Nissan GT-R and Italdesign.
Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president for global design, remarked that the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign celebrates two big moments that intersect at the same window of time -- 50 years of Italdesign shaping the auto world as well as 50 years of Nissan delivering excitement with the GT-R. About a year ago, Swedish professional skier, Jon Olsson shared his bespoke Rolls-Royce Wraith, which he named “George”. The monster has an insane 810 horsepower under its hood, and now, he is selling it for a not so budget-friendly price.
The very first time we learnt about this was at The Netherland’s Auto Leitner, with its selling price of around $324,000 (275,000 euros). When looking at the car, it seems that nothing has changed as it remains to have the exterior upgrades and its heavily tuned engine.
Some of the Wraith’s exterior upgrades include Olsson’s signature camouflage wrap, lowered suspension, and the plethora of LED lights. It sits on a set of 24 inch Forgiato matte black wheels fitted with Pirelli Pzero Nero 285/30 ZR24 tires. It also has a jet powered, carbon fiber surfboard that weighs 18 kilograms (40 pounds). Pagani Zonda will not allow the spotlight to be away from it, even years after the Huayra has been introduced. Now, there is a very special one on the road that is specially hand painted by the well-known artist Shalemar Sharbatly. The design is so vibrantly beautiful that it is going to be difficult to keep your eyes out of the supercar.
The project began with Foglizzo, an Italian luxury leather company, who has the desire to show off their huge range of dyes for customizing the colour of their hides. The first thing they did was to wrap the supercar in white, and for four days, Sharbatly took her time to unleash her work of art.
When looking at the finished product, you can see that the artist has used different colours on different sections on the Zonda. To point that out, the front part is a combination of blue and green with purple touches, the driver’s side then has shades of sapphire and cerulean, and the passenger side looks better with some red, orange, and maroon. The rear end of the car, where the tail is, then indicates a mix of these colour motifs. It is a beautiful look for the already stunning supercar. If The Hulk were to be a car, what would it be? Well, you might want to check out this Mercedes-AMG GT R that is just as green and powerful as the angry monster. But before we get to that, let us first talk about the standard Mercedes-AMG GT which is available in a handful of variations. The standard version is the GT Coupe, pumping out a respectable 469 horsepower (349 kilowatts).
There is also the GT C, which focuses more on performance and has as much as 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts). Meanwhile, the range-topping model would be the track-ready GT R, with the ability to deliver 577 horsepower (430 kilowatts). And last but not the least is the four-door GT. But even with those options, one German tuning shop thinks that the AMG GT could use more power.
So going back to the mean, green AMG GT R that Renntech offers as an upgrade. They enabled it to deliver between 612 and 825 horsepower (456 and 615 kilowatts), depending on the trim. The latter of the two is dubbed as the AMG GT R825. This does not only have more power, but also has a torque of 626 pound feet (850 Newton metres). The extra power is attributed to the larger turbo, paired with a software upgrade, blow off valves, and high flow air filter, among others. H1 is the first-ever model Hummer developed for the civilian market. The four wheel drive utility vehicle was originally made for the military, to conquer all types of terrains and obstacles. This is why it has got a tough and rugged exterior.
Back in 1992, the H1 suffered backlashes during its production, mainly because it had an uncomfortable cabin and a shortage of power from its engine. Despite its negative traits, the Hummer continued to sell for years, until the automaker called it quits in 2010.
