Aston Martin DB11 AMR delivers 630 horsepower and 208 mph top speed

Aston Martin’s newest DB11 AMR, which sits at the top of the grand tourer range, is a marriage between high-speed capability with luxurious surrounds. It is equipped with a 5.2 liter V12 that packs an impressive 630 horsepower, which is a 30 horsepower boost over the standard DB11 V12 that the AMR replaces. Still, torque remains at 516 pound feet (700 Newton metres).

With that additional horsepower, the grand tourer can hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.7 seconds. That makes it 0.2 second quicker than before, while its top speed is up to 208 miles per hour (335 kilometers per hour), now 8 miles per hour (13 kilometers per hour) faster than the regular DB11 V12. The AMR also features an exhaust that’s a bit louder than before, which is pretty obvious.

Of course, the company boasts that the DB11 AMR is more engaging to drive too. Aside from the added tweaks, the development team revises the shift calibration for the eight speed automatic and tweaks the suspension setup for sharper handling.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Volante arrives with $216,495 price tag

As seasons change, temperatures rise and fall. The changes affect our preferences when it comes to driving cars. Therefore, Aston Martin introduces the new DB11 Volante or convertible, and it looks like a combination of the coupe’s gorgeous lines with a soft top that can be lowered in only 14 seconds.

When the DB11 is released in the market, customers will only have one option - that is the Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0 liter biturbo V8, paired to an eight-speed automatic that brings power to the rear wheels. Similar to the coupe, it enables the convertible to produce 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts) and 513 pound-feet (675 Newton-metres) of torque. A standard limited slip differential improves traction as well.

In just 4.1 seconds, it can finish the 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) sprint, before continuing to its 187 mile per hour (300 kph) top speed. Though it has the same maximum velocity as the coupe, the convertible is a tenth of a second slower to 62 mph.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 gets a Mercedes-AMG V8 engine

Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz have recently joined forces, and the first fruit of their collaboration has finally been revealed. The Aston Martin DB11 is equipped with a 4.0 liter turbocharged V8 powertrain as an option.

This is the first model to benefit from the deal since Daimler AG, Mercedes’ parent company, and Aston first joined forced in 2013, when the German multinational company bought five percent of the British company’s shares. Both companies go hand in hand like adding cocoa powder to a cup of dark hot chocolate.

The V8 is a familiar sounding term to many, and yes, it is the same V8 that you may be thinking of. In fact, it is the same engine that you will find in most Mercedes models, just like the 503-horsepower AMG GT S. To ensure that the DB11 still reminds you of an Aston Martin, the engineers did a little bit of calibration, reprogramming, and ECU-relates items so that the car still feels and sounds like an Aston Martin.
