McLaren has already commenced the production of the McLaren Senna sports car this year. On the other hand, Aston Martin will start building the much-anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in 2019. There is no doubt that there is overwhelming interest in these limited-series production cars, and the top honcho of Italian sports car maker Lamborghini won't let such opportunity pass by.
Stefano Domenicali, chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini, has disclosed to Autocar that the Italian sports car maker is seriously considering building an “extreme aero” limited-series production car that would compete against the like of the McLaren Senna and Aston Martin Valkyrie.
According to Domenicali, Lamborghini’s possible new limited-series production car would be “in the vein of Centenario and Veneno,” which are both limited production hypercars that fetched millions of Euros in price. Lamborghini only built 40 examples of the Centenario, of which 20 are coupes and 20 are roadster. The upcoming Aston Martin Valkyrie is definitely one of the new cars that the automotive world is waiting for. With a total output of whooping 1,130 hp from its immensely dynamic powertrain, the Valkyrie is touted as a hypercar from the gods, and Aston Martin is making a case of it by posting official images of this new creation on Instagram.
Aston Martin released not just one but three official images of the Valkyrie on Instagram. One of these images show the Valkyrie as viewed from top, while another presents the hypercar from the side. Aston Martin was also kind enough to offer a glimpse of the interior of the Valkyrie. The British carmaker said the cabin of the new Valkyrie is minimalistic.
As the image show, the interior of the hypercar is dipped in carbon fiber. Not many people got a chance to own one of the limited-run Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar. And if you are one of the few lucky ones, Andy Palmer of Aston Martin has a message to give you, and you better take him seriously.
On July 5th, Andy Palmer posted on Twitter making it clear that Valkyrie buyers should not even attempt to sell their build spot for some extra money, as these people will lose the car, and will be banned. And it doesn’t end there, as they never be able to get another special vehicle. He made it clear that they will be able to identify those who tries to flip their reservation slots. Andy Palmer wrote this as a response to a certain @woodsypedia on Twitter with regards to the proposed built slot seen on PistonHeads Classifieds.
This action by Palmer was triggered when a listing by a seller named Knight International cited an “Aston Martin Valkyrie 2019 Build Slot”. On the website, you will find “Price on Request”. However, the tweet that Palmer responded to shows a £9,999,999 ($12.9 million) price tag. Aston Martin and Red Bull’s AM-RB 001 hypercar project is moving along quickly. This time, the project partners have already commissioned a number of technical partners that would help in the development and creation of a new mobile unit that is bound to challenge the current hypercar Trinity.
Nearly a year since Aston Martin, Red Bull and AF Racing announced the project, the partners had the chance to shop for more key technical members that could provide the expertise to achieve utmost success. According to Aston Martin and Red Bull, these key technical partners – Cosworth, Ricardo, Rimac, Multimatic, Alcon, Surface Transforms, Bosch and Wipac – were chosen because of their unrivalled expertise as well as their willingness to further push performance boundaries. These companies will work alongside Adrian Newey and David King, Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer and Aston Martin’s VP and Chief Special Operations Officer, respectively.

Even when Aston Martin has been mum about the upcoming AM-RB 001 hypercar, Marek Reichman at least has something new to say. In a recent interview with Australia’s Motoring, the chief designer talked about the AM-RB 001’s 250mph top speed as well as its impressive 4.5 cornering G-force.
Aston Martin’s RB-001, according to Reichman, will have the 1,000hp naturally aspirated V12 with up to 6.0-7.0-litre engine displacement. More so, it will come with Xtrac’s single clutch sequential gearbox.

Here is good news for those who were lucky enough to place an order for the only 10 exclusive examples of the Apollo IE hypercar. Apollo Automobil, in collaboration with technical partner HWA AG, is already testing, developing and preparing the all-new Apollo IE for production.
Apollo revealed that they have been conducting tests for the new IE. The latest of these tests is a multi-day endurance test at the Lausitzring Circuit in Germany. Tested on the circuit were two factory prototypes -- in both road and race configurations.

Following its well-anticipated unveiling at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017), the Mercedes-AMG Project One went into intensive development behind closed doors for several months. AMG’s transnational project team engineered the Project One digitally to ensure that goals can be met when the hypercar is put on the road.
To ensure that the high-performance drive unit intended for the Project One is ready for series production, hundreds of testing hours were spent on dyno testing the whole powertrain, including all of its hybrid components. Since 2016, Bugatti has been synonymous to Chiron. After all, the French sports car maker only has the Chiron in its stable since 2016. There is the Chiron Sport, but it is essentially just a track-focused version. There is the Divo, but this hypercar is also track-focused and is produced in very limited number (40 units). Many have been wondering whether Bugatti would offer another model. But just recently, it was confirmed that Bugatti is now ready to build a second model in addition to Chiron.
This confirmation was made not just by anyone from Bugatti Automobiles SAS, but by its top honcho, chief executive Stephen Winkelmann to CarAdvice. During an interview, Winkelmann remarked that he sees Bugatti as ready to do more than one model. This basically steers Bugatti – a part of the Volkswagen Group – into a new direction. The Chiron will still be offered, but a new model could be in the making.
Nonetheless, while Bugatti is ready to develop and launch a new model, it can’t do so right away. After all, the development of a model involves a lot of money. As such, a large investment is required. But Bugatti can’t hope to get such large investment from the VW Group right away – it needs to help. It has been a year since Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Mercedes-AMG Project One at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. So far, there has been no or little update from the German premium carmaker. Nonetheless, Mercedes is expected to unveil the production-ready version as well as the final moniker of the Project One next month at the upcoming 2018 Paris Motor Show.
During the year after the Project One was revealed, there has been rumors that Mercedes is also intending to create two more versions of the hypercar. One of these would be an open-top roadster version and the other would a track-only variant that can’t be legally driven on the road. According to TheSupercarBlog.com, Mercedes was planning to build between five to 10 units of the Project One roadster, as well as between 25 to 50 examples of the track-only version.
Of course, Mercedes really had to look into whether developing two more versions of the AMG Project would bring a good case. These two versions – the Project One roadster and track-only model – were evaluated, but evaluations weren’t so positive for them. The Nurburgring Nordschleife has long been considered as a benchmark for performance in the automotive world. Because of its complicated course, carmakers and tuners have been trying to prove the worth of their creation by driving through the so-called Green Hell. Now, Mercedes-AMG could try to prove the performance of its Project One hypercar by challenging the Nurburgring.
In an interview with Autocar, Mercedes-AMG chief executive Tobias Moers remarked that it was "reasonable to speculate" that the new Project One hypercar would challenge the lap time record at the fabled Nurburgring lap time record. Right now, the lap time record for the Nurburgring for a production car is being held by a Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991) driven by Larns Kern. With a lap time of six minutes 47.30 seconds, this Porsche 911 GT2 RS had set a new record at this challenging course.
Interestingly, Moers is looking beyond the lap time record by a production car at Nurburgring. The AMG Project One will also try to challenge the overall lap time record at the Green Hell. The Bugatti Chiron is probably one of the sportiest cars in the planet, thanks to its overwhelming power output of 1,500 hp and its hypercar design. If there is one car who could claim to be sportier than the Chiron, it is another creation from the French manufacturer – the new Bugatti Chiron Sport.
Bugatti’s formula for creating a sportier version of the Chiron doesn’t entail any increase or boost in power output or torque. The French high-performance carmaker didn’t need to tinker with the quad-turbo, 8.0-liter W16 engine to come up with the Chiron Sport. This means that power ratings for the Chiron Sport remain at 1,500 hp of max output and 1,180 lb.-ft. (1,600 Nm) of peak torque as transmitted to all wheels. Likewise, this means that Chiron Sport could complete a sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds, and achieve a top speed of up to 260 mph (420 km/h) – the same as the Chiron.
Aside from retaining the superb power and performance of the Chiron, the new Chiron Sport also features the same ease and convenience of driving. Instead of focusing on these elements, Bugatti decided to dramatically improve the handling of the new Chiron Sport and enhance its lateral dynamics on winding roads.
