Audi will be offering a TDI engine as an option for its next-generation A4 sedan in the United States as it extends its target to sell more diesel engines in the country. Audi will be rolling out a new version of the A4 in 2014. Audi skipped the current model in November 2012 when it disclosed plans to offer four more TDI models in the US.
Scott Keogh, president of Audi of America, said that dealerships in the US will receive the Audi A4 with a two-liter TDI engine after the new generation arrives. Audi’s decision to offer a TDI engine-powered A4 in the US reflects a strategy to meet rising corporate average fuel economy standards without jeopardizing torque.
Although diesel is more expensive than regular unleaded gasoline in the US, brands like Jeep, Chevrolet and Mazda have recently launched diesel-powered models to take advantage of their better fuel economy. Keogh said that Audi decided to wait on plans to roll out a TDI version of the A4 to the US until the model’s redesign.Read the entire article Audi to offer TDI engine as option for the 2014 A4 sedan in the US

As you may know already, Bmw will unveil later today the redesigned 3-Series sedan and as expected, these are some bad news for its main rival Audi and its aging A4. Why? Well, it’s simple as the new vehicle will hit the dealerships in early 2012, two years before Audi redesigns the A4.
And the bad news continue for Audi, as the revamped 3-Series sedan will help Bmw increase its lead over Audi with 43% in 2012 according to an IHS Automotive forecast.
The forecast is based on the fact that the 3-Series and 1-Series accounted for 49 percent of BMW's sales last year. Now, Bmw redesigned both models. "The 3 series renewal improves sales volumes and pricing power, creating an immense margin advantage," said Stefan Bauknecht, a DWS Investment fund manager in Frankfurt.Read the entire article 2012 3-Series sedan to widen Bmw’s lead over Audi and its aging A4
Audi has announced that the Allroad, its jacked-up all-wheel-drive station wagon, will go back to the U.S. The A6 is the lone Audi Allroad model left that’s available in the U.S. Since that time, Audi had discontinued the A6 Avant altogether, which makes a lower-volume upgrade trim such as the Allroad quite unfeasible.
However, Audi is now working on making the Allroad come back but it will be smaller. It’s likely that the A4 Allroad would be the model that will be revived and will feature the gray bumpers, wider track, and extra ground clearance.
The A4 Allroad is offered in Europe with the 2.0-liter turbo four that’s on the A4, as well as 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter turbo-diesels. It’s also likely that there would also be a 2.0T gas engine. This coincides with the current A4′s mid-cycle facelift.Read the entire article Audi to bring the A4 Allroad to the United States

Audi always causes suspense for its customers in the US every time it comes up with an upmarket model since it does not immediately release the availability of their cars for that market. This is what happened with the R8 V10 which still remains to be announced whether the 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro will make it to the North American shores.
In a matter of seven years from 2000 to 2006 the company has sold an A6 variant of the Allroad only to halt sales when it dropped to 2,429 units in the last year in the North American market. There were no justifications for the importation of the second generation of the car which remained selling in the European market.
Audi now has introduced a smaller variant that may be an appropriate replacement for the SUVs which are fast declining in popularity in the US. When Audi launched the A6 it was a high time for big SUVs and it was difficult for a new concept to rival the popularity of the SUV back then.Read the entire article 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro to make U.S. debut
As you may know already, the Audi A4 is the most popular model from the German manufacturer and that's why, STaSIS, an American tuner decided to make it a little more powerful in order to show some difference on the road. The power yield of its 2.0T 4-cylinder engine was raised to 255 hp and 294 lb-ft with an acceleration rate of 5.3 seconds from standstill to 60 mph.
STaSIS claims this is faster than the Bmw and Mercedes-Benz. It can finish the quarter-mile in 14 seconds at 97.8 mph (157km/h). These performance numbers are off the company's modified B7 A4's own but due to the European CO2 requirements this is still within normal.
To handle the new power the B8 A4's suspensions, wheels and tires were also upgraded. The next level, the Challenge Edition, gets all the improvements of the Signature Series, but comes with 20x9 wheels in high-grip Yokohama Advan street rubber in combination with STaSIS tuning on the Ohlins SL coilovers that can produce 0.99 g on the skidpad.Read the entire article Audi A4 by STaSIS
