The Audi Q3, also known as the smallest crossover option in the United States, is getting a new upgrade, with an overall sportier look. This is because the automaker will introduce a new Sport trim to the lineup next year. Though it is a “Sport” trim, do not expect it to perform better because the sporty upgrades are only limited to the exterior. Having said that, it focuses more on convenience features and styling.
For those who are interested, the 2018 Audi Q3 Sport Premium can be had for $34,875 (including $975 destination fee). That makes it $1,000 more expensive than the standard Q3. You are probably wondering what upgrades you will get with the additional $1000. Well, this trim includes new exterior treatments like 19-inch 10-spoke wheels and brushed matte aluminum inlays. This goes with a power tailgate, mirrors that automatically dim, and proximity key with the $1,350 Convenience Package equipped.
The higher trim, which is the Sport Premium Plus, on the other hand, costs a little more at $36,775 for 2018. If you will include the optional technology package, that will cost you an extra $1,200. This trim features a Bose audio system and other fancy things. And for those who would like to go for the sporty luxury option, there is the range-topping S Line Competition Package that comes loaded with features as well as blacked out design touches. But naturally, this costs a little more too.Read the entire article 2018 Audi Q3 will receive Competition Package, Sport trim in the United States
During the 2016 Beijing Motor Show, Audi finally launched its latest Connected Mobility Concept based on the Q3, which comes with smartphone integration. But guess what, it also gets an electric longboard in the rear bumper. The longboard primarily serves as an alternative mode of transportation, making mobility more creative and convenient.
The Q3 Connected Mobility Concept basically looks like the Q3 crossover— both exterior and interior. No modifications have been employed aside from the enhanced connectivity and mobility. Through the Audi MMI connect app, the Q3-compact-crossover-inspired concept can be synced to a smartphone calendar, enabling the vehicle to know where the driver is going. In addition, it can also be linked to the vehicle’s infotainment system. Moreover, the concept can determine the fastest routes. When the fastest route no longer needs the vehicle, the driver can easily hop on the longboard and scoot the rest of the way after the app has found a perfect parking spot for the Audi.
The 3.44-feet electric longboard can run up to 7.40 miles and accelerate up to 18 mph on a single charge-up. Moreover, the scooter has a spot for the smartphone on the handlebars to make it more convenient for the user to access the Audi MMI connect app. When not in use, the electric long board can be placed back at its rear bumper storage tray, where it automatically recharges.Read the entire article 2016 Audi Q3 Connected Mobility Concept Comes with Electric Longboard

Expect a more fuel-efficient Audi Q3 next year as the carmaker is making true plans to endow the revised crossover with more efficient powertrains. Audi did not only enhance the output of its gasoline-powered TFSI engines, but also installed a fuel-saving cylinder deactivation technology called “displacement on demand” system.
This system shuts down two cylinders when not needed, making the powertrain around 7 percent more efficient. The upgrade is part of the Q3’s mid-cycle refresh, which entails a revised design and more standard features. Audi will roll out the Q3 in Europe in February 2015 and later in the United States.
The Q3 currently stands atop Europe’s premium crossover segment, followed by BMW X1. Audi sold 5-percent more Q3s in the first half of 2015 to 40,730 units, helping the overall European premium crossover segment to post a 9-percent jump in sales in the period to 232,075 units, according to JATO Dynamics.Read the entire article Fuel-efficient Audi Q3 crossover promises to keep the lead over BMW X1

Audi has made no decision yet on whether the compact Q3 crossover will be brought to the U.S. However, Johan de Nysschen, president of Audi of America, said that this may take place within three years after a midlife facelift. De Nysschen explained that the company first has to assess economic feasibility and whether it can reach targets.
Price is one “big obstacle,” de Nysschen adds. It has to be low to appeal to buyers but then, it also has to be profitable.
Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi AG board member for sales and marketing, believes that there’s a market for the Q3 in the U.S. He said that the U.S. is prepared for a car that’s positioned below the Q5, according to Autonews. Audi has been offering numerous customization options for the A1 and now, it offers the same for the Q3. Contrary to what Audi wants customers to believe, its interiors aren’t quite that edgy or exciting. In fact, they use a lot of grays and blacks on their sedans for executives and families. But now, Audi wants to liven up its little crossover by using platinum or truffle beige inlays as standard.
The Colour and Trim Team have developed additional options for owners that want a boost.
A dark brown larch wood inlay is the first new trim piece. Team member Rosalie Schrader said that Audi seeks to give a “strong aesthetic” to both the exterior and interior.
