ABT Sportsline has transformed a sporty 310-hp/228 kW Audi RS Q3 into a race-capable monster! Engineers at the tuner conducted extensive tests that showed that the crossover’s 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine could allow a permanent 32% uprating. Thus, they worked hard to transform the vehicle into the ABT RS Q3, which carries the same engine that provides 410 hp/301 kW of output and up to 530 Nm of torque.
ABT will present the power-SUV at the Geneva Motor Show in March in an “innocent” white shade with an impressive decor. All this became possible thanks to ABT Power New Generation. “This complex and gentle processes uses a specially developed control unit – ABT Engine Control – and a customized software,“ remarked Hans-Juergen Abt, chief executive of ABT Sportsline, which is considered as the largest tuner of Volkswagen and Audi cars in the world.
ABT also endowed the Audi RS Q3 with a height-adjustable sport-type suspension that provides a maximum of road feedback as well as dynamism. ABT also modified the looks of the Audi RS Q3 by fitting a new front skirt and grille as well as a sporty decor set and 21-inch ABT DR alloy wheels. The power-SUV also features a ABT rear skirt set that includes stainless-steel exhaust system and four tail pipes.Read the entire article Geneva Motor Show Preview: 2014 Audi RS Q3 by ABT Sportsline
The Audi RS Q3 was introduced back in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, but the high-performance crossover has just received a facelift. If the previous model used a 2.5-liter TFSI five-cylinder engine developing 310 hp and 420 Nm of torque, the RS Q3 Facelift arrives with 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque. As a result, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds, while top speed is limited at 250 km/h or 155 mph.
Comparing it with its predecessor, the RS Q3 is much faster because the old RS Q3 was able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds. Thanks to the RS exhaust system with switchable flaps, the sound of the five-cylinder engine is even more sexy.
Just like on the old RS Q3, the new model uses the seven-speed S tronic transmission which sends the power to the road via the permanent Quattro drivetrain and a new hydraulic multi-place clutch. 19-inch wheels are offered as standard, while bigger 20-inch are offered as an options.Read the entire article 2015 Audi RS Q3 gets a facelift, more power and updated design
The Audi RS Q3 is already an extreme crossover, but the tuning companies believe something else. After we saw the ABT Audi RS Q3, it’s time to take a look at the tuning programme from MTM. For those who don’t know, the standard RS Q3 is powered by a 2.5-liter TFSI five-cylinder engine that generates 310 hp and 420 Nm of torque.
As a result, the RS Q3 is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h or 155 mph.
The German tuner decided that this isn’t enough and thanks to the M-Cantronic module (3,357 Euro) and a new exhaust system integrated in the carbon fiber rear air diffuser (4,699 euros), the total output of the engine was boosted to an impressive 410 hp and 570 Nm of torque.Read the entire article 2014 Audi RS Q3 gets 410 hp from MTM, a 76,650 euros price tag
After few leaked photos, Audi officially unveiled the RS Q3 ahead of the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. As expected, the vehicle is powered by the 2.5-liter TFSI five-cylinder engine, delivering an impressive 310 hp and 420 Nm of torque. With these numbers, the RS Q3 is able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.5 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h or 155 mph.
Still, the 2.5-liter engine needs only 8.8 liters of fuel per 100 km (26.73 US mpg), which equates to 206 grams CO2 per km (331.52 g/mile). The engine is mated to the standard seven-speed S tronic transmission and drivers can choose between the D and S modes for automatic shifting of the dual clutch transmission. The Audi RS Q3 also offers the Launch Control function that controls the acceleration from a standstill in order to attain optimal traction. Due to the power increase, the RS Q3 also offers a sport suspension that lowers the body by 25 mm (0.98 inch).
The battery is located in the luggage compartment to achieve better weight distribution. Of course, the car has to stop in time and in order to do this, Audi installed brake discs that have a diameter of 365 mm (14.37 in), and they are gripped by eight-piston calipers painted black with RS logos. The RS Q3 is offered as standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, but the German manufacturer also offers as an option, 20-inch wheels.Read the entire article Official: 2014 Audi RS Q3 makes its debut
