M&D Exclusive Cardesign creates highly tuned Audi S7 with PD700R wide-body kit

As many of us know, RS versions of any Audi’s vehicle models are more powerful and more dynamic than their S counterparts. Thus, for the Audi A7 model family, the RS7 is definitely a much better performer than the S7. But this is not applicable in the case of the Audi S7 tuned by M&D Exclusive Cardesign. This tuned S7 should leave the RS7 behind the dust.

One of the primary reasons why the Audi RS7 has more performance than the S7 is the engine. Both the Audi S7 and the RS7 are powered by the same engine that is differently tuned for each model. The 4.0-liter turbocharged TFSI V8 engine on the latest S7 (2017 model year) could provide 450 hp of max output and 406 lb.-ft. of peak torque. This level of power pales compared to a better tuned TFSI V8 engine that delivers 560 hp of max output and 516 lb.-ft. of peak torque for the 2017 Audi RS7. A higher performance variant of the RS7 boasts of having 605 hp of max output and 553 lb.-ft. of peak torque at its disposal.

However, the Audi S7 tuned by M&D Exclusive Cardesign isn’t the 2017 version – but the 2013 model is used instead. The 2013 Audi S7 – as standard -- features a V8 engine that could provide ‎420 hp of output and ‎406 lb.-ft. of torque. M&D Exclusive Cardesign fine-tuned this V8 engine to now deliver a whopping 690 hp (515 kW) of max output and 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of peak torque.

2012 Audi S7 Sportback: full details, specs and photos

The Audi S7 Sportback is powered by the new 4.0 TFSI, which is the engine used on the S6 and S6 Avant. It delivers 309 kW (420 hp) and 550 Nm (405.66 lb-ft) of torque on the S7 Sportback. The five-door coupe is powered by the twin-turbo V8, enabling it to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.9 seconds and to reach a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph).

With a fuel consumption rating of 9.7 liters per 100 km (24.25 US mpg), this cultivated eight-cylinder uses Audi's "cylinder on demand" technology under part load. This impressive efficiency is mostly due to its lightweight body of hybrid aluminum construction. Its weight is about 15% lower than one with an all-steel body.

One of its lightweight parts is the long rear hatch that opens and closes electrically as standard. Under it is a luggage compartment with a volume of 535 liters (18.89 cu ft). When the rear seat backs are folded down, the space increases to 1,390 liters (49.09 cu ft).The Audi S7 Sportback’s power transmission comes from the dynamic seven-speed S tronic and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system that has a self-locking center differential and torque vectoring. Audi’s optional sport differential distributes the power in different proportions between the rear wheels. The S7 Sportback is available as standard with the adaptive air suspension sport and the Audi drive select dynamics system.

2012 Audi S6, S6 Avant, S7 and S8 unveiled ahead of 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show

Audi and Bentley have jointly developed a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 direct-injection engine that will be powering four of Audi all-wheel-drive S models at the Frankfurt Motor Show. These new S models include the successors to the S8, S7 and S6 sedans and the S6 Avant. All these models, except for the S6 Avant, will arrive in the U.S.

These models are expected to be launched in the late spring of 2012. The S8 replaces the predecessor’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 with the most powerful version of Audi's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. It can reach peak power of as high as 512 hp, with torque raised to 479 pounds-feet.

The boost in reserves is distributed to all four wheels via a specially adapted eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox that aids automatic stop/start and brake-energy recuperation. The sedan can go from zero to 62mph in only 4.2 seconds and it has a limited maximum speed of 155mph, similar to all of Audi's new S models.
