Bugatti has released more details about the new Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse – an open-top version of the Grand Sport that delivers 882 kW (1,200 hp). This has the same output as the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, which has been very successful. The new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is powered by the 7.9-litre capacity of its W16 engine that has an outstanding maximum torque of 1,500 Nm (at 3000–5000 rpm).

It is able to reach its maximum output (1,200 hp) at 6,400 rpm. These figures enable the car to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds. With a top speed of 410 km/h (255 mph), the four-wheel drive (just like all Veyrons) Grand Sport Vitesse is the fastest production roadster ever. This model’s output is 199hp higher than that of the Grand Sport.

It was attained with the use of four larger turbochargers with new intercoolers. To handle the tremendous power that the Bugatti model is capable of, all of its drivetrain components have been extensively reinforced. It has been equipped with bigger turbochargers and has overall reduced back pressure, resulting to the slight reduction of its fuel consumption even as its power output is greater.
