During the 2016 Beijing Motor Show, Audi finally launched its latest Connected Mobility Concept based on the Q3, which comes with smartphone integration. But guess what, it also gets an electric longboard in the rear bumper. The longboard primarily serves as an alternative mode of transportation, making mobility more creative and convenient.
The Q3 Connected Mobility Concept basically looks like the Q3 crossover— both exterior and interior. No modifications have been employed aside from the enhanced connectivity and mobility. Through the Audi MMI connect app, the Q3-compact-crossover-inspired concept can be synced to a smartphone calendar, enabling the vehicle to know where the driver is going. In addition, it can also be linked to the vehicle’s infotainment system. Moreover, the concept can determine the fastest routes. When the fastest route no longer needs the vehicle, the driver can easily hop on the longboard and scoot the rest of the way after the app has found a perfect parking spot for the Audi.
The 3.44-feet electric longboard can run up to 7.40 miles and accelerate up to 18 mph on a single charge-up. DS Automobiles has unveiled its latest exclusive offering for customers in China at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show – the new DS 4S premium hatchback. This car represents the brand’s latest offensive in the Chinese compact car segment, hoping that the France-designed, China-built DS 4S would kick off a strong sales momentum.
The 2016 Beijing Motor Show serves as the perfect venue for DS Automobiles to unveil the new DS 4S, which should further demonstrates the refinement, comfort and dynamism typical of DS branded vehicles. Audi is introducing its latest road machines at the Beijing Motor Show – the highly potent Audi TT RS Coupé and Audi TT RS Roadster. These newest iterations of the Audi TT RS Coupé and the Audi TT TS Roadster are powered by a new aluminum five-cylinder engine that provides up to 400 hp, or around 60 hp more than their predecessor.
This power plant in focus is the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder that boasts of higher power output and performance despite the unchanged capacity of 2,480 cc. This power plant – named “Engine of the Year” six consecutive times – is now of lightweight construction and features lower internal friction and higher power delivery.
This allowed the engine to deliver 17-percent more output than its predecessor while developing up to 480 Nm (354.0 lb.-ft.) of torque available between 1,700 and 5,850 rpm. With these specs, this five-cylinder turbo engine allows the TT RS Coupé to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, while the Roadster can reach this speed in 3.9 seconds. Hyundai Motor Co. has unveiled its ix25 small-sized SUV concept at the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. The ix25 represents another strategic pillar for Hyundai in China with the production version set to arrive in the country later this year. The small-sized SUV concept previews a premium look derived from Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy.
The concept measures 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,630mm in height with 2,590mm in wheelbase. Hyundai is aiming the ix25 particularly at young buyers who are looking to combine style and practicality. The South Korean carmaker is already planning various marketing activities to appeal to its target market.
The launch of the Nu 2.0 engine-powered ix25 in the second half of 2014 will complete Hyundai’s SUV line-up in China -- ix25, ix35, Santa Fe to Grand Santa Fe – as the carmaker targets to dominate the country’s growing SUV market. Land Rover has unveiled its Range Rover Hybrid Long Wheelbase at the 2014 Beijing auto show. The vehicle is touted to offer an excellent combination of premium luxury, interior space, outstanding fuel and emission numbers as well as Range Rover’s trademarked all-around capability. The Range Rover Hybrid Long Wheelbase, along with the Range Rover Sport Hybrid, will the first diesel hybrid model to be offered in China.
The Range Rover Hybrid Long Wheelbase cements Range Rover’s reputation as one of the most successful premium vehicle ranges in the world – as proven by over 100 awards accolades received by the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in the past 18 months.
The derivative will benefit from the insights that Land Rover learning from its Silk Trail expedition last year, when a fleet of hybrids travelled 16,000 km from Solihull, United Kingdom to Mumbai, India – proving their durability and all-terrain capability. Back in March the new-generation Chevrolet Cruze was caught undisguised but today the new vehicle was officially introduced at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014. According to the official press release, the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was developed by GM's global R&D team and the goal was to set new benchmarks in the segment in terms of fuel economy, handling and intelligent technology.
The 2015 Cruze is inspired by the Chevrolet Tru Concept, which was unveiled at the Auto China 2012, and comes with coupe-like flowing lines that support enhanced aerodynamics. The front end features a dual-mesh grille that extends to the stylish headlights, LED daytime running lights and new hood that shows aggressive design lines. From the side, we observe the chrome-plated trim that stretches from the outside rearview mirrors to the rear seat windows.

Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show the all-new Concept Coupe SUV, its answer to the BMW X6. Dubbed MLC in its production form, the Concept Coupe SUV is based on the M-Class and is set to go into production in the second half of 2015. As you can see from the photos, the new concept SUV from Mercedes-Benz shares little with the M-Class and comes with a prominent front grille fitted with the three-pointed star logo and with stylish LED headlights inspired by those seen on the smaller CLA.
Viewed from the side, the Concept Coupe SUV features the Mercedes-Benz so-called ‘dropping line’, just like the other vehicles found in company’s lineup. For those who don’t know, this ‘dropping line’ was introduced by the second-generation CLS. At the rear, everything is new and the Concept Coupe SUV follows the same design lines seen on the S-Class Coupe such as a rear window rounded off at the top and slim taillights.
The concept car is 4935 mm long, has a width of 2044 mm and a height of 1739 mm. It is believed that the production version will retain these figures. As a result, the upcoming SUV will be 58 mm longer, 61 mm wider and 49 mm higher than the BMW X6. Besides the DS 6WR, Citroen also brought the C-XR Concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014. This new concept car is a contemporary take on the SUV and previews the first SUV developed by the joint venture between Citroen and Dongfeng Motor Group.
The new CX-R Concept design is highlighted by the wide chrome-finished grille that links the chevrons to the headlamps, LED daytime running lights, headlamps that feature a double module and indicators, a C-shaped side signature that provides a visual link between the roof bars and chrome-finished waistline and 3D-effect rear lights as well as chrome-finished dual tailpipes.
Moreover, the C-XR Concept has large 17-inch wheels but also a raised ground clearance in order to offer optimum comfort and safety. As it promised, Lamborghini brought at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014 the Aventador in the special Ad Personam configuration Nazionale. As you can see from the photos, the Aventador Nazionale is offered as coupe version and comes with a dedicated color and trim composed by light exterior colors in combination with the Italian flag.
The vehicle unveiled in Beijing has a Bianco Opalis exterior color, while the painted Italian flag livery runs as a stripe from the front bonnet over the roof and parts of the engine bonnet, all the way to the rear wing. Inside, the flag continues as a leather stripe on the central part of the roof and rear bench.
Moreover, the interior is characterized by the highly exclusive Ad Personam configuration that combines the Nero Ade and Blu Cepheus colors. The 2014 Beijing Motor Show also saw the debut of the 2015 Peugeot 408, an executive sedan that featuring an elegant and dynamic design. Set to take on the upper Chinese C segment, the 2015 Peugeot 408 follows the company’s new design philosophy highlighted by the lion placed in the middle of the grille, which is an important indication of price and membership for the brand, according to Peugeot.
The 408 was especially developed for China and emerging markets such as Russia and will take on vehicles such as the Ford Focus but also the Volkswagen Lavida. The 408 shares the same styling with the Peugeot 308 a.k.a. the 2014 European Car of the Year, but from the B-pillars back it is completely new.

The all-new 2015 Ford Escort was officially revealed at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014, as the American carmaker decided to revive one of its most famous nameplate. The 2015 Escort has been designed for the Chinese customers this time, as it is part of the company’s plan to introduce 15 new models in China by 2015.
Looking almost identical with the Escort Concept that was unveiled back in 2013 in Shanghai, the 2015 Ford Escort is built on Ford’s C-car platform. The new Escort will join the Ford Focus in order to provide more choices for consumers in China's compact car segment, which is expected to grow to 7.2 million vehicles by 2017, which means bigger than the total auto market in Germany, the U.K. and France combined.
The front end of the vehicle comes with elongated, jeweled headlamps and a stylish inverted trapezoidal grille. From the side, we observe that the designers pushed back the A-pillar in order to create more athletic proportions. At the rear we find taillights that echo the headlamp design. Earlier this week we revealed you the first sketches, but today the all-new VW Golf R 400 Concept made its official debut at the Auto China show in Beijing. The new concept car is based on the flagship Golf R hatchback and was developed by the Volkswagen R GmbH. Just like the Golf R, it is powered by the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine (Type EA888), boosted from 300 to 400 hp and an impressive 450 Nm of torque available from 2,400 to 6,000 rpm.
Bolted to a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, the engine delivers the power to the four-wheel drive system and can push the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds while the top speed is 174 mph or 280 km/h.

If you thought that the rumored TT crossover was just a joke, you’d better think again as Audi has just unveiled the TT Offroad Concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014. The new concept car is 4.39 meters (16.2 ft) long, 1.85 meters (6.1 ft) wide and a wheelbase of 2.63 meters (8.6 ft). This means that it resembles the Audi Q3 compact SUV.
Showing a Sonora Yellow exterior, the TT Offroad Concept features clearly drawn lines and muscularly taut surfaces in order to produce a dramatic design. As you can see the vehicle actually follows the same design philosophy as the recently introduced 2015 Audi TT. The front end shows the Singleframe grille and stylish Matrix LED headlights.
When viewed from the side, the relationship between the concept and the Audi TT is even more apparent. At the rear, we can see the taillights inspired by those found on the TT as well as two round tailpipes connected through a blade with a Quattro logo. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show its new Pinnacle Travel Phantom, which has been conceived both to celebrate the Chinese love for travel and the success of the carmaker’s Bespoke program in the country. China was regarded as the largest outbound travel market in 2013, spending an estimated $125 billion on travel, according to the World Tourism Barometer published by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
To cater to this growing interest in luxury travel, the Rolls-Royce Pinnacle Travel Phantom offers opulent color scheme, lavish materials and superb hand-crafted inlays. The Pinnacle Travel Phantom features a two-tone exterior color scheme of Madeira Red-Silver Sand, hinting what a traveller can expect inside the luxurious cabin.

Volkswagen has just unveiled the 2015 Touareg Facelift just in time for the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014. As expected, the 2015 Touareg comes with a redesigned front fascia consisting of larger headlights now offered as standard with bi-xenon, a new radiator grille with four horizontal fins instead of two and new front bumper.
At the rear, we see the redesigned bumper that provides a wider look, a new rear diffuser and LED rear fog lights integrated in the bumper. For the 2015MY, Touareg is available with new door mirror caps, new wheel designs as well as new paint colours. Insider, the SUV gets the option of new colours for the standard leather upholstery, but also new design accents and lightning.
As standard, Vw Touareg offers the automatic post-collision braking system, bi-xenon headlights and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The automatic transmission uses the SUV’s kinetic energy when driving downhill or when acceleration is not needed. Back in January, we announced you that Volkswagen was preparing a Golf R Evo for the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, a hardcore version of its popular hatchback that will have around 400 hp. Today, the new vehicle was officially announced as the VW Golf R 400 Concept. Set to make its official debut on 19 April, at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014, the new vehicle is actually a more extreme concept version of the Golf R hatchback.
As a result, the Golf R 400 comes with a new bodykit consisting of new front and rear bumpers, enlarged wheelarches and uprated wheels. Inside, the concept car will feature new sport bucket seats with integrated head restrains and belt openings.
According to the official press release, the flared wheelarches are reminiscent of those on the 1988 Rallye Golf G60, while the body is painted in ‘Silver Flake’ metallic, in contrast with the gloss black roof and carbon fiber mirror caps. DS plans to unveil its first SUV – DS 6WR – at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. Designed in Paris and inspired by the Wild Rubis Concept car, the Citroen DS 6WR premium SUV represents a new approach for the brand -- untamed yet sophisticated. The DS 6WR also represents the next phase of development of the brand not only in China, but also around the world.
The vehicle’s body lines merge SUV design with DS styling cues. Having a 4.55m x 1.86m x 1.61m (length, width and height) and a long wheelbase of 2.73m, the vehicle amply meets the needs of luxury SUV customers in terms of space and versatility. DS 6WR features Grip Control that allows optimized traction on all types of terrain – leading to improvements in both fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
DS 6WR is powered by either e-THP 160 or THP 200 engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engines feature sequential direct injection with a high-pressure pump and a twin scroll type turbocharger. Lamborghini announced that at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show a.k.a. Auto China 2014 it will bring a special Aventador model in a special configuration called Nazionale. According to the official press release, the new vehicle is realized by Lamborghini Ad Personam personalization program.
Unfortunately, Lamborghini didn’t release any further details, but we do expect the vehicle to feature the same 6.5-liter V12 V12 engine that generates 700 hp (515 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque @ 5,500 rpm.
The standard version has a weight of 1,575 kg (3,472 lbs) and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, while top speed is limited at 350 km/h or 217 mph.
