It was only a few days ago that we saw photos of the all new 2018 Bentley Continental GT, and now, someone has already tweaked it, turning it into a GTC. This is an unofficial release of the droptop as it was a rendering made by an artist and was published in X-Tomi Design, but we feel like a variant like this will soon come out in the Continental's lifecycle.
Though the design may look familiar to you, the updates are actually found in the heart of the car instead, with the new MSB underpinnings just like the Porsche Panamera, giving it an overall improvement. Bentley gave the Continental GT its much-needed diet, making it lose a total of 80 kilograms (176 pounds), as its predecessor was extra heavy. After the huge weight loss, we still can't say that it is lightweight, but at least the driving experience will be a little easier.
To lower the nose, the front axle of Crewe's latest GT had been pushed forward a bit, by around 135 millimeters (5.3 inches), giving way to the nose. Under the elongated hood is a powerful biturbo 6.0 liter W12 TSI that carries out as much as 626 horsepower (466 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton metres) or torque. This engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission that helps channel power to the wheels. The GT now has an active four-wheel drive system instead of the 60/40 rear-to-front split. This function helps the car send power where it is necessary as it monitors driving conditions.Read the entire article 2018 Bentley Continental GT rendered as a GTC
Bentley will use the eight-speed automatic gearbox on its GT and GTC models. This type of gearbox was recently seen on the GT Speed. The current six-speed ’box is replaced by the close-ratio unit from ZF. The updated cars will start delivery this October. This has the same time-scale as the GT Speed. With this new gearbox, the 567bhp W12-equipped GT is able to accelerate from zero to 60mph by 0.1sec faster to 4.3sec.
It also drives the Continental GTC to make the 0-60mph sprint faster by 0.3sec to 4.4sec. The Continental GT can move from zero to 100mph in under 10.0sec at 9.8sec while the GTC can achieve this in 10.3sec. Both cars’ fuel economy ratings were also given a boost by the gearbox.
The GT has improved its fuel economy rating from 17.1mpg to 19.5mpg, and its CO2 emissions have been reduced from 384g/km to 338g/km. Previously, the GTC shared its economy and CO2 figures with the GT. But because of the eight-speed gearbox, it now offers fuel economy of 19.0mpg and a CO2 emissions level of 347g/km.Read the entire article Bentley Continental GT/GTC will get new eight-speed automatic gearbox

Bentley Motors has launched its new Continental GTC Convertible at the Qatar International Motor Show. The all new convertible, which takes cues from its GT coupe sibling launched in 2011, boasts of an even more luxurious and spacious hand-crafted cabin.
It also has soft-touch leather hides, cool-touch metals, deep-pile carpets and an extensive range of wood veneers. It enables faster gear changes more than ever, thanks to a more powerful 575PS 6.0 liter, twin-turbocharged W12 engine and the new QuickShift transmission.
Bentley Motors' member of the board for sales and marketing, Alasdair Stewart, commented that the new GTC has always been the "most emotional model" in the Continental lineup and "a showcase" for Bentley design. He added that the GTC is "a pure British convertible" true to the classic Bentley units, but with the performance, technology and overall design excellence put into the vehicle, the automaker is now "writing a new chapter for the Bentley convertible driver.">Read the entire article Bentley reveals all-new Continental GTC Convertible at 2012 Qatar Motor Show
After we saw the 2013 Bentley Continental GT V8 it’s time to take a look at the convertible version: folks, this is the 2013 Bentley Continental GTC V8. Just like the coupe version, the new GTC V8 will ditch the W16 in favor of a more fuel-efficient 4.0-liter V8 engine delivering a maximum output of 500 bhp (507 PS / 373 Kw) at 6000 rev/min and an extraordinary peak torque of 660 Nm (487 lb ft) which is available across virtually the entire rev range from 1700 to 5000 rev/min.
The engine is mated to a new close-ratio 8-speed automatic transmission and it can push the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in of 4.8 seconds (0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds) and a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h).
The vehicle will be able to achieve a fuel consumption of 10.9 l/100 km which will make it capable to offer a range of over 500 miles (800 km) on a single tank of fuel. Just like the GT V8, the new Continental GTC V8 will feature the same accessories in order to be identified with its potent V8: a black gloss matrix grille with chrome frame and centre bar, a red enamel Bentley ‘B’ badge, and a black matrix three-segment lower front bumper divided by distinctive body-coloured strakes.Read the entire article 2013 Bentley Continental GTC V8 unveiled at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show
There’s no way that a $140,000 Bentley would sell for just $14,000 but Andre Souang won this vehicle on eBay last month for this amount. Unfortunately, he received the disappointment of his life when the managers at Bentley Scottsdale told him that the auction listing was a mistake and that the car isn’t for sale. eBay later sent a form message to say that the auction was canceled for unspecified reasons.
Any hint of an auction was removed from Souang's account and from the Website. After just a few hours of the auction on Oct. 25, it seemed like the car was never on sale.
Typically, Bentleys sell for six figures. This 2008 convertible that Souang made for a bid for was in pristine condition and had very low mileage. It also had just one prior owner. Souang said that he had a suspicion that there was something awry when the "Buy It Now" offer was accepted. He believed that the dealer would make a counteroffer instead of shutting him down.Read the entire article Bentley Continental GTC bought for $14,000 on eBay, seller refuses to give it away
Bentley Motors’ new Continental GTC makes its debut in North America at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Mulsanne Executive Interior Concept, the next generation of mobile connectivity, could be seen at the Bentley stand.
Targeted at executives, this concept offers a new multimedia experience inside the luxurious, hand-crafted cabin of Mulsanne, Bentley’s flagship model. Alasdair Stewart, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing, said that the automaker considers Los Angeles to be the “ideal location” for the launching of the GTC convertible. Steward added that Southern California is still the “most successful market” for Bentley in the US. He also said that the U.S. is still the biggest market in the world for Bentley.
In 2011, Bentley’s worldwide sales have increased by a third. This is due largely to the new model introductions like the GTC convertible (which arrives in the U.S. market in the later part of the year) and the new GT coupe (which has already started selling in the spring. It’s expected that many will be on the lookout for the new Continental GTC. The Breeze-colored drophead GTC that debuts at the LA Auto Show has been given crisper lines and a look that’s custom and coach-built. It has aluminum superformed front wings while at the rear, there’s a double-horseshoe design at the rear that’s first seen on Bentley’s flagship Mulsanne.Read the entire article 2011 LA Auto Show: Breeze-colored 2012 Bentley Continental GTC makes U.S. debut

Bentley unveiled at the 60th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance its new limited-edition Continental GTC and GTC Speed 80-11 models, designed exclusively for the North American market. Many of you are wondering what the '80-11' designation means, right?
Well, according to the manufacturer, the 80-11 designation underlines just how limited these luxury British convertibles will be with Bentley building only 80 examples of each drophead in 2011.
The GTC models are offered with 20-inch, 14-spoke alloy diamond wheels, polished with unique black center caps featuring Bentley's distinctive B emblem, while the GTC Speed models come with Supersports 20-inch wheels, now finished with an eye-catching dark tint, and displaying sporty red brake calipers underneath.Read the entire article 2011 Bentley Continental GTC & GTC Speed 80-11 Edition: official details, specs and photos
While car media outlets are busy keeping tabs on what’s happening at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, apparently, something hotter has been brewing in Crewe England after Bentley uncovered its new 2018 Continental GT First Special Edition. At a time when the first batch of the 3rd generation Continental GT has not yet reached the homes of their rightful owners, we have to say this is something we least expected.
Regardless, Bentley’s Continental GT has been customized by the British marque’s design team to create the ultimate grand tourer of all time — the First Edition. It features a rotating display that lets you switch between three various panels. Depending on what suits your mood, its built-in 12.3-inch touch screen can be swapped with another instrument display that offers three analog dials or if the engine is turned off, the next option showcases a panel display that offers unobstructed view of the dashboard.
Bentley’s First Edition is also offered with four distinctively premium dual tone veneers for its Grand Black dashboard that suits any of the four veneer colors available --- Dark Fiddleback Eucaplyptus, Dark Stained Madrona, Liquid Amber, and the Tamo Ash veneer finish.Read the entire article Bentley pays homage to British roots with 2018 Continental GT First Special Edition
Have you heard of the hottest car from Bentley? Bentley’s third generation Continental GT has gotten more athletic after receiving the latest GT3 upgrade under its new platform. So what makes the GT3-spec extra special? While the Continental GT packs a 626hp 6.0-liter biturbo W12 engine, the GT3’s 4.0-liter 550hp biturbo V8 is a race-specified engine integrated with the Cosworth management system.
In addition to the upgraded dry sump, intake and exhaust, majority of the Continental GT’s standard markings were stripped off to achieve the GT3’s ideal weight. That means, Bentley Motorsport did whatever is necessary to transform the GT into a pure race car--- including stripping out the interior and installing a number of carbon fiber body panels.
The carbon fiber diet was a huge success as the GT3 race car only weighs about 2,866lbs (1300kg) which is significantly lighter than the regular GT. The weight loss is estimated to have reached a total of 2081 pounds or 944 kilograms.Read the entire article Here’s your first look at the 2018 Bentley Continental GT3 race car
Bentley has finally revealed the new Continental GT a few weeks before it makes its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer is more than proud of it, describing it as the “pinnacle” of their engineering and design achievements. He continues to say that the brand defines new luxury in the automotive industry.
The English automaker focuses on combining the latest technology with classic effects as their customers demand that. For instance, they feature the 12.3-inch touchscreen that gives information about the car via a revolving James Bond-style dashboard, but even better as this one is compatible with your Apple devices with its Apple Carplay.
For those who are keen on personalizing their Continental GT, Bentley is proud to say that they have a wide array of options for you. For the exterior paint alone, you can choose from as many as 17 colours, with up to 70 hues. As for the interior, there are 8 different handcrafted designs, and 15 options for the interior trim hide. If there is one model that British carmaker Bentley could pay tribute to, it must be the Continental GT grand tourer. After all, the Continental GT is the first model that Bentley has launched since it became a part of the Volkswagen Group. When it was introduced in 2003, the Continental GT marked the renaissance of the marque, and became the first Bentley to employ volume production methods.
Thus, 14 years after the introduction of the first model – and right on the heels of the launch of a new generation of the beloved grand tourer from the United Kingdom – Bentley is unveiling a special edition that pays tribute to the Continental GT itself: the Continental GT Timeless Series. As its moniker indicates, the limited edition model presents how timeless the Continental GT has been for the British carmaker, even after 14 years of existence.
Essentially, the Timeless Series is derived from the Continental GT Convertible, but has been made more contemporary and more luxurious with the addition of an array of exquisite features and design options. Bentley hasn’t said how exclusive – in terms of the number of examples – the Timeless Series is, but as a limited edition, this droptop offers a number of elements that distinguishes it from a typical Continental GT Convertible. For instance, the Timeless Series features bright upper and lower front grilles as complemented by the Timeless Series badges and tread plates.Read the entire article Bentley pays homage to the Continental GT with limited edition Timeless Series
Would you like your convertible to be inspired by a yacht? Well, you do not have to imagine it anymore - thanks to the Bentley Continental GT Convertible and Mulliner for building one. With its size and opulence, there is no doubt that a yacht would enter your mind when seeing this model. This was made possible by Mulliner, which gave it the Galene Edition treatment. Overall, it has a droptop just like that of a yacht. In case you were wondering, Galene is a very apt name as it’s from the Greek goddess of calm seas.
For Mulliner to achieve this look, they had to work with Princess Yachts for some design cues that are necessary. For instance, the Continental GT Convertible was finished in a Glacier White paint that is accented with a Sequin Blue stripe on the lower end of the car, matching the dark blue roof. The convertible is equipped with a set of 21-inch polished Propeller Wheels.
The interior has plenty more design elements that you would associate with yachts. The cabin is made of a combination of Linen, Portland, Brunel, and Camel tinted leather - creams, taupes and nudes that will make you feel like you’re on a high-end boat. This is complemented by the cabin’s trim in the same Glacier White paint. There is even a hand-painted image of the super yacht on the dashboard for more detail, which was made by illustrator Jaume Vilardell. The trunk floor is more unconventional this time, with the open-pore Pinstripe Walnut finish. You can also find the same finish on the center stack and around the gearshift.Read the entire article Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene looks very much like a yacht
Bentley Motorsport has hit the headlines with the announcement of its entry into the 2017 Nurburgring 24 hour race. At the same time, it revealed a new, bespoke, limited edition Continental that will be joining the race – it’s dubbed as the Continental 24.
The GT3 will be participating at the endurance ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race on the Nurburgring, along with two other cars from Bentley Team ABT - all three cars will be running on Yokohama tires. To celebrate this milestone, the Continental 24 was built. We are aware that an all-new Bentley Continental GT is coming very soon, but today, all the attention is on the Continental 24. The Supersports ranger topper is dressed in a Monaco Yellow and Black Crystal combination inspired by the company’s own track-only GT3.
The model is created exclusively for the European market. If the yellow and black colour combination is not your style, you can choose the St James’ Red and Black Crystal finish, or a simpler single-tone paint scheme as an option. The limited edition model will be equipped with a set of 21-inch alloy wheels with either yellow or red accents, depending on the body’s finish. To give it some exterior accents, there will be carbon fiber door mirror caps, black body accents, and brake calipers all in a darker hue.Read the entire article 2017 Bentley Continental 24 Special Edition is priced at $280,600 (before options)
Bentley once again confirmed its plans to push PHEV into their future lineups. As a matter of fact, the Bentayga SUV will be the first to have the plugin hybrid technology, which will also be using a V6 engine. Next on the line would be none other than the new generation Bentley Continental GT. And there’s more to come.
During a recent press interview with Automotive News, Wolfgang Duerheimer reiterated the fact that plugin hybrids no longer serve as “temporary bridge technology”. Instead, it now offers the best features of both cars with internal combustion engine as well as those of electric powered vehicles.
The CEO also considers the fact that the upcoming plugin variants would be their answer to the consumers who want to use their cars to go to places where gasoline and diesel engines would no longer be allowed.Read the entire article Confirmed: Bentley will offer plugin hybrids for every model
