Bentley is reportedly in the midst of creating the next generation of the Bentley Flying Spur luxury sedan. While the development of the all-new model is ongoing, the British luxury carmaker has found a new way to make the current generation stay relevant. Yes, Bentley has managed to keep the current model alive by releasing the new Flying Spur Design Series by Mulliner.
Bentley’s personal commissioning division, Mulliner, has been charged to create just 100 examples of the new Flying Spur Design Series, which is basically a unique design take on the current generation of the luxury sedan. The Flying Spur Design Series allows clients to pick from any of the five interior and exterior accent selections: Azure Purple, Kingfisher, Mandarin, Pillar Box Red and White. Of course, the Flying Spur Design Series could be availed in any of the models in the range: V8, W12, V8 S and W12 S.
The new Flying Spur Design Series features an exterior defined by a lower fine line as well as LED Welcome Lamps, with V8 S and W12 S models providing a bold front bumper design. Both the front bumper detail and the lower fine line are accentuated by a stunning color accent. Interestingly, the Welcome Lamps illuminates the word “Mulliner” onto the ground at night.Read the entire article Bentley keeps current Flying Spur alive by introducing new Design Series by Mulliner
Bentley Motors’ centenary celebration is just getting started. As the iconic British carmaker unveiled the fastest production SUV in the world so far, it is also celebrating 100 years of existence by unveiling a limited edition collectors’ car – the new Bentley Continental GT Number 9 Edition by Mulliner.
Ever since W.O. Bentley founded Bentley Motors on July 10, 1919, the working principle at the carmaker has always been “build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class.” Nearly 100 years since then, Bentley’s celebratory model is seen to live to that principle. After all, the Continental GT Number 9 Edition by Mulliner is inspired by the carmaker’s illustrious motorsport history.
In fact, the Continental GT Number 9 Edition by Mulliner is paying homage to Sir Henry Ralph Stanley “Tim” Birkin. Considered as one of the original ‘Bentley Boys’ of the 1920s and ‘30s, Birkin wasn’t just a customer but also a racing driver. Back then, Birkin commissioned a series of 4 1/2 Litre supercharged Bentley Blower. One of these was raced by Birkin himself at the 1930 Le Mans 24 Hours. As you may have guessed, Birkin piloted the iconic No.9 Bentley Blower – with power increased from 110 bhp to 175 bhp -- at the race.Read the entire article Bentley celebrates its 100 years with Continental GT Number 9 Edition by Mulliner
If you have the money to spend on a $229,000 Bentley Bentayga, there is also a high likelihood that you drive your luxurious SUV around the city with a couple more expensive items - could be a watch or in a different kind. Now, there is nothing for you to worry about when it comes to storing your valuables because Bentley now offers a storage box for the vehicle’s center console.
Moreover, there is no need to worry about losing keys to this because there actually is none, and it is replaced with a fingerprint scanner instead, making things much more safe and convenient.
It was Bentley’s Mulliner customization division that came up with the idea for this safe inside your car. Now, the center console has been turned into a secured space that features an aluminum cover with capacitive fingerprint scanner.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga gets biometric security stowage with fingerprint scanner
Dubai is one of the few countries where expensive cars are the norm, many of which are specially modified as well. And this just in: Bentley has debuted the new Grand Convertible by Mulliner in Dubai without much fanfare. The said model is housed in Bentley’s largest showroom, and it currently sits beside other members of the family like the Mulsanne, one standard version with another one having the extended wheelbase. Crewe’s latest project may sound familiar to others, and this is because it has already made its debut in November 2014 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
But don’t get me wrong, the one from 2014 was a concept, which was based on the Mulsanne version, minus the roof. On the other hand, the two-tone example that’s sitting in Dubai right now is a production model that started out in life as a Mulsanne Speed before losing its roof, which was also shortened by a few centimeters - 10cm (3.9 inches) to be exact. Its body has been finished with a predominant Moroccan Blue paint, contrasted with a Frosted Silver finish up front, on the hood. This surrounds the imposing grille as well as the windscreen frame.
But that’s not what the production model boasts of. Apart from the stylish body, it has a large piece of wood applied onto the rear deck like that of the concept we saw in 2014. Shmee says that this must be the largest piece of wood that has been installed on a car ever, and this particular one even comes with metallic fins.Read the entire article $3.5 million Bentley Grand Convertible by Mulliner makes its debut in Dubai
Would you like your convertible to be inspired by a yacht? Well, you do not have to imagine it anymore - thanks to the Bentley Continental GT Convertible and Mulliner for building one. With its size and opulence, there is no doubt that a yacht would enter your mind when seeing this model. This was made possible by Mulliner, which gave it the Galene Edition treatment. Overall, it has a droptop just like that of a yacht. In case you were wondering, Galene is a very apt name as it’s from the Greek goddess of calm seas.
For Mulliner to achieve this look, they had to work with Princess Yachts for some design cues that are necessary. For instance, the Continental GT Convertible was finished in a Glacier White paint that is accented with a Sequin Blue stripe on the lower end of the car, matching the dark blue roof. The convertible is equipped with a set of 21-inch polished Propeller Wheels.
The interior has plenty more design elements that you would associate with yachts. The cabin is made of a combination of Linen, Portland, Brunel, and Camel tinted leather - creams, taupes and nudes that will make you feel like you’re on a high-end boat. This is complemented by the cabin’s trim in the same Glacier White paint. There is even a hand-painted image of the super yacht on the dashboard for more detail, which was made by illustrator Jaume Vilardell. The trunk floor is more unconventional this time, with the open-pore Pinstripe Walnut finish. You can also find the same finish on the center stack and around the gearshift.Read the entire article Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene looks very much like a yacht
As a child, most of us would’ve probably enjoyed going through numerous hunting expeditions trying to find the guy with the red-and-white striped shirt called Waldo or probably Ronald McDonalds hidden behind a post in a festival scene or something like that. You might also remember the moments when it took you hours of literally having to stick your face into the photo just to find them.
These things may sound oddly old school to the new generation as there are now new technological innovations such as the NASA-derived technology called the Gigapixel that allows people to zoom into an image further than what has been previously been possible.
One of the current users of this technology is none other than British automaker Bentley. Last year, Bentley set-up a special camera 2,300 feet away from the Golden Gate Bridge to snap a gigapixel image of the Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase crossing it. Seven hundred photos were taken from the same location and then stitched together into one photo.Read the entire article Bentley releases gigapixel image of Flying Spur W12 S in Dubai

Bentley fans will be happy to know that the British manufacturer launched a new specification level for the Flying Spur. Called Beluga Specification, this will be available only on the V8-powered Flying Spur and will offer a more athletic stance and purposeful visual appeal.

Same theme is continued at the interior where we find a handcrafted cabin with piano black veneer, knurled gear shift paddles, contrast stitching to the seats and steering wheel as well as deep pile floor mats. According to Bentley, its customers will be able to specify also the Mulliner Driving Specification, in combination with Beluga specification.Read the entire article 2015 Bentley Flying Spur V8 model gets Beluga Specification

Bentley hopes to overturn its sales decline in China in 2013 as it launches a new variant of its Flying Spur saloon in April. "We're sure that we're able to, let's say, make an improvement over last year," Ricky Tay, Bentley China's managing director, told Bloomberg in an interview.
The Flying Spur V-8, carrying the lowest starting price among Bentley's four-door sedans, "will open up a new avenue to the luxury brand," Tay said. Bentley posted a 3-pervent drop in deliveries in China in 2013, after surging 23 percent in 2011 and almost doubling in 2011. Tay attributed the decline to model changeovers.

Sources say that Bentley’s 200mph Flying Spur saloon will get a sporty update in late 2013. The new Spur, which rivals the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-class, will get sheetmetal that’s more attractively shaped. It will also get major performance improvements. From the information provided by insiders, an artist impression was created.
The new Spur will use a re-engineered platform and will have its looks smartly revised. Its proportions will be sportier and it will have surfaces that appear more fluid. These features take inspiration from the new Continental GT and the Mulsanne flagship. The element taken from the GT is a subtler version of the two-door’s muscular rear haunch while from the Mulsanne, it gets the elegant ‘catwalk’, a flowing belt line that becomes wider over the rear haunch to imply power and performance stemming from the rear axle.
One source said that it looks much sportier and appears to be “much more ‘Coke bottle’ than before. The Spur will boast a look that’s more upmarket and sportier due to the new dimensions on a wheelbase tracks and fixed-design ‘hard’ points that were carried over. Its highlights include a more raked rear screen, taller boot line and narrower rear glasshouse.Read the entire article New Bentley Continental Flying Spur will have its looks smartly revised
