The Bentley Bentayga is set to participate in the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb that is slated to take place on June 24th in Colorado.
The automaker’s motorsport department is currently working on improving the vehicle’s performance. For it to succeed, the 600 horsepower SUV will have to go through the 12.42-mile (19.98 kilometers) hill climb with a total of 156 corners, as fast as it can. In fact, it will have to be faster than all the other SUVs joining. Vehicles that will participate in Pikes Peak will have to climb 4,720 feet all the way to the finish line at the mountain’s summit of 14,115 feet.
Brian Gush, motorsport executive, said that since the Bentley Bentayga was released, the luxury SUV has set the benchmark for vehicles - thanks to the balance it has achieved in terms of bespoke British craftsmanship, performance, and grand touring ability.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga enters upcoming Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado
The very first time we ever saw Bentley’s SUV, the Bentayga, was back in September 2015 when it came out with the impressive W12 engine. A year after that, it shifted to a different powertrain, which was the Audi SQ7’s biturbo 4.0 liter V8 TDI for the diesel powered engine. Today, it decides to spice up their range even more by coming up with a V8 version, but this time with a 4.0 liter gasoline engine that works with a pair of turbochargers.
The new powertrain produces as much as 542 horsepower (404 kilowatts) and 568 pound-feet (770 Newton-metres) of torque, which is the same as the Cayenne Turbo and the Porsche Panamera. In only 4.5 seconds, the SUV’s new engine propels the vehicle to reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a standstill, and it has a top speed of 180 miles per hour (290 kilometers per hour). That makes the W12 variant just a little bit quicker in the sprint and with a better maximum velocity.
The rear wheel drive comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, where 60 percent of the torque is sent to the rear axle. It is not like the Bentayga market really cares, but the V8 gasoline version only uses up 11.4 liters for every 100 kilometers in the combined cycle, returning 20.6 miles per gallon in the US (24.8 mpg in UK). The new gas engine is definitely more economical than the W12. When fully loaded, it can run for as far as 464 miles (746 kilometers).Read the entire article 2018 Bentley Bentayga gets new V8 gasoline engine option with 542 hp output
There had been speculations that the Bentley Bentayga will soon have a hybrid powertrain that will be added to its engine lineup. And recently, the automaker confirmed this matter. So expect to see the SUV with a PHEV variant at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show in early March this year.
Under the Bentley Bentayga’s hood will be an engine that is similar to that of the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid. It will be equipped with a 2.9 liter V6 that will be paired to an electric motor so it can produce a total output of about 462 horsepower (345 kilowatts). Expect the Bentayga to have a similar range as the Panamera, capable of reaching 30 miles (48 kilometers) on purely electric energy.
Currently, the Bentley Bentayga offers a 6.0 liter W12 biturbo and a 4.0 liter V8 biturbo diesel, which the new PHEV version will join. This version will go on sale in the second quarter of 2018. We should mention though that the automaker is confident that that it will be the best selling option in the United States market.Read the entire article Plug-in hybrid version of Bentley Bentayga will debut in Geneva, slated to start selling in 2Q
Today, buyers of the sought after Bentley Bentayga can get the vehicle with either a 6.0 liter biturbo W12 or a 4.0 liter diesel fueled V8, with an electrically driven supercharger and two turbos.
Auto Motor und Sport, a German publication however stated that the automaker will soon offer a gas-fueled V8 to the range in July next year. We are currently taking this statement as a rumour now because the publication did not share any details regarding their source.
If the rumour is true, then it would probably be the Volkwagen Group’s 4.0 liter biturbo engine in the Porsche Cayenne that will be installed into the Bentayga. That said engine produces as much as 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts) and 568 pound-feet (770 Newton metres) of torque. The Lamborghini Urus actually comes equipped with the same engine, but produces 650 horsepower (484 kilowatts) and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton-metres) of torque instead. All the said models sit on the same MLB platform, and that being said, it shouldn’t be a problem for Bentley’s engineers to fit the engine in.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga may offer a gas V8 option by July 2018
While car media outlets are busy keeping tabs on what’s happening at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, apparently, something hotter has been brewing in Crewe England after Bentley uncovered its new 2018 Continental GT First Special Edition. At a time when the first batch of the 3rd generation Continental GT has not yet reached the homes of their rightful owners, we have to say this is something we least expected.
Regardless, Bentley’s Continental GT has been customized by the British marque’s design team to create the ultimate grand tourer of all time — the First Edition. It features a rotating display that lets you switch between three various panels. Depending on what suits your mood, its built-in 12.3-inch touch screen can be swapped with another instrument display that offers three analog dials or if the engine is turned off, the next option showcases a panel display that offers unobstructed view of the dashboard.
Bentley’s First Edition is also offered with four distinctively premium dual tone veneers for its Grand Black dashboard that suits any of the four veneer colors available --- Dark Fiddleback Eucaplyptus, Dark Stained Madrona, Liquid Amber, and the Tamo Ash veneer finish.Read the entire article Bentley pays homage to British roots with 2018 Continental GT First Special Edition
We’re willing to bet that the Bentley Bentayga is not the first thing that comes to mind for most people who are into off-roading and outdoor activities. It just doesn’t have that kind of reputation; also, it has a whopping price tag of $229,000.
Well, regardless of what your reasons are for hesitating on purchasing one, the automaker, together with Mulliner, has built an outstanding vehicle that you would want in your garage. Both companies have joined forces to fit a Field Sports accessory kit to the luxurious SUV, and this optional kit includes everything you need for the ultimate hunting car, believe it or not.
The British automaker and aforementioned Mulliner got custom gun manufacturer Purdey to work with them. So Purdey designed storage in the cargo area as an added feature. But what makes this so special is the large sliding unit that comes with several compartments capable of carrying supplies that the passenger will require – ranging from a first aid kit to some extra ammunition. Of course, the storage is not just like any basic storage out there, as it has been finished in the finest, authentic handcrafted materials to make sure that it is still luxurious.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga Field Sports Edition by Mulliner is the most luxurious hunting car out there
Dubai is one of the few countries where expensive cars are the norm, many of which are specially modified as well. And this just in: Bentley has debuted the new Grand Convertible by Mulliner in Dubai without much fanfare. The said model is housed in Bentley’s largest showroom, and it currently sits beside other members of the family like the Mulsanne, one standard version with another one having the extended wheelbase. Crewe’s latest project may sound familiar to others, and this is because it has already made its debut in November 2014 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
But don’t get me wrong, the one from 2014 was a concept, which was based on the Mulsanne version, minus the roof. On the other hand, the two-tone example that’s sitting in Dubai right now is a production model that started out in life as a Mulsanne Speed before losing its roof, which was also shortened by a few centimeters - 10cm (3.9 inches) to be exact. Its body has been finished with a predominant Moroccan Blue paint, contrasted with a Frosted Silver finish up front, on the hood. This surrounds the imposing grille as well as the windscreen frame.
But that’s not what the production model boasts of. Apart from the stylish body, it has a large piece of wood applied onto the rear deck like that of the concept we saw in 2014. Shmee says that this must be the largest piece of wood that has been installed on a car ever, and this particular one even comes with metallic fins.Read the entire article $3.5 million Bentley Grand Convertible by Mulliner makes its debut in Dubai
Have you heard of the hottest car from Bentley? Bentley’s third generation Continental GT has gotten more athletic after receiving the latest GT3 upgrade under its new platform. So what makes the GT3-spec extra special? While the Continental GT packs a 626hp 6.0-liter biturbo W12 engine, the GT3’s 4.0-liter 550hp biturbo V8 is a race-specified engine integrated with the Cosworth management system.
In addition to the upgraded dry sump, intake and exhaust, majority of the Continental GT’s standard markings were stripped off to achieve the GT3’s ideal weight. That means, Bentley Motorsport did whatever is necessary to transform the GT into a pure race car--- including stripping out the interior and installing a number of carbon fiber body panels.
The carbon fiber diet was a huge success as the GT3 race car only weighs about 2,866lbs (1300kg) which is significantly lighter than the regular GT. The weight loss is estimated to have reached a total of 2081 pounds or 944 kilograms.Read the entire article Here’s your first look at the 2018 Bentley Continental GT3 race car
What is the worst thing that could happen to your car? Well, probably if it gets burned down into ashes, because that’s equivalent to throwing away a huge amount of money, as nothing will be left of it. The next worst thing is probably having a huge piece of metal stab through your car just like that in scenes of a Final Destination movie.
My next question is, are you thinking of getting yourself a Bentley Mulsanne? Well, if you are, there is actually a 2011 model that is currently up for grabs. But it is unlike any other Mulsanne that you have seen out there, because it comes with a special accessory.
We actually don’t want to imagine what happened to this particular car and if there were any casualties. But it seems like it had hit the guardrail, real hard.Read the entire article Bidding starts at $13,100 for impaled 2011 Bentley Mulsanne
A Startech-tuned Bentley Bentayga by far is the most lavishly styled exhibit from the sea of aftermarket specialists that graced the IAA. An affiliate of Brabus, Startech has actually brought us the first ever customized variant of the British brand’s highly expensive sport utility vehicle. Since then, over a handful of Bentayga owners have been captivated by Startech’s tuning products and availed the German tuner’s special upgrades despite the incredible price.
What we have here is yet another Bentayga dressed with the tuner’s custom body kit but it seems to stand out more from the rest of them. Featuring the ultra-luxurious Shadow Gold paint finish, this SUV comes equipped with Startech’s huge 23-inch forged Monostar S wheels, valve controlled exhaust, lowering kit, an extended body and the Startech-exclusive front and rear bumpers.
Some of the features special to this brand are the Bentayga’s unique carbon fiber diffuser at the rear section and the honeycomb lower grille inserts at the front. The very distinct Shadow Gold paint finish could be seen throughout the roof, C-Pillars, bonnet and all around the grille. This same finish is also seen on the SUV’s trunk lid badge, air vent surrounds and forged wheels.Read the entire article Get starstruck with this Startech-styled Bentley Bentayga in Shadow Gold
Just a month ago, Wolfgang Durheimer, the former president of Bugatti, was removed from the company so he could replace Stephan Winkelmann, former Lamborghini CEO and Audi Sport boss as he leaves the company. This time, Durheimer will be moved out of Bentley as well, so he could be replaced by a Jaguar Land Rover executive. This man has been Bentley’s CEO and Bugatti’s president since 2014.
Adrian Hallmark will take Durheimer’s position as Bentley CEO, says Manager Magazine. The respected executive is the current head of strategy for Jaguar Land Rover, and has worked for companies like Porsche, VW Asia, and even Saab in his earlier years. It was in 2010 when he finally joined Jaguar. Furthermore, Hallmark already has a history with Bentley, as he had helped boost sales from 1,000 to 10,000 units.
Jaguar Land Rover describes Hallmark as a “very hands on” kind of man. He is so committed to his projects that he puts himself into them, and he likes being able to shape things himself. This is a trait that not many executives possess. With this skill, he was able to demonstrate his part in the successful development of the Bugatti Veyron’s strategic sales, marketing and distribution.Read the entire article Durheimer will be replaced by Adrian Hallmark Jaguar Land Rover Strategy Boss as Bentley CEO
We recently heard that Italian automakers, Ferrari and Lamborghini, are not so keen on building an all-electric sports car just yet. On the contrary, Bentley has just confirmed that there will be an electric sports car coming from their end.
The Bentley Bentayga is currently one of the most powerful SUVs out there - being the fastest and most luxurious SUVs on the market today. The British automaker hoped for it to be a best-selling model, but with a hefty $229,000 price tag, it isn’t that easy to sell. In 2017, Bentley has sold under 700 units in the United States. With this track record, Bentley has decided to back on its plan to develop more SUVs.
In an interview of Bentley by Autocar, the automaker said that they will be developing a sports car instead of a sub-Bentayga SUV. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that it will be completely electric, just like the EXP12 Speed 6e concept that was presented at Geneva earlier this year. Once finished, it will be the luxury automaker’s fifth model in the lineup.Read the entire article Bentley scraps sub-Bentayga SUV, instead confirms plan to build electric sports car
It was only a few days ago that we saw photos of the all new 2018 Bentley Continental GT, and now, someone has already tweaked it, turning it into a GTC. This is an unofficial release of the droptop as it was a rendering made by an artist and was published in X-Tomi Design, but we feel like a variant like this will soon come out in the Continental's lifecycle.
Though the design may look familiar to you, the updates are actually found in the heart of the car instead, with the new MSB underpinnings just like the Porsche Panamera, giving it an overall improvement. Bentley gave the Continental GT its much-needed diet, making it lose a total of 80 kilograms (176 pounds), as its predecessor was extra heavy. After the huge weight loss, we still can't say that it is lightweight, but at least the driving experience will be a little easier.
To lower the nose, the front axle of Crewe's latest GT had been pushed forward a bit, by around 135 millimeters (5.3 inches), giving way to the nose. Under the elongated hood is a powerful biturbo 6.0 liter W12 TSI that carries out as much as 626 horsepower (466 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton metres) or torque. This engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission that helps channel power to the wheels. The GT now has an active four-wheel drive system instead of the 60/40 rear-to-front split. This function helps the car send power where it is necessary as it monitors driving conditions.Read the entire article 2018 Bentley Continental GT rendered as a GTC
Bentley has finally revealed the new Continental GT a few weeks before it makes its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer is more than proud of it, describing it as the “pinnacle” of their engineering and design achievements. He continues to say that the brand defines new luxury in the automotive industry.
The English automaker focuses on combining the latest technology with classic effects as their customers demand that. For instance, they feature the 12.3-inch touchscreen that gives information about the car via a revolving James Bond-style dashboard, but even better as this one is compatible with your Apple devices with its Apple Carplay.
For those who are keen on personalizing their Continental GT, Bentley is proud to say that they have a wide array of options for you. For the exterior paint alone, you can choose from as many as 17 colours, with up to 70 hues. As for the interior, there are 8 different handcrafted designs, and 15 options for the interior trim hide. Customers can either opt for 21-inch wheels or upgrade it to 22-inches for a higher ride.Read the entire article 2018 Bentley Continental GT arrives with brand new design and engine
If there is one model that British carmaker Bentley could pay tribute to, it must be the Continental GT grand tourer. After all, the Continental GT is the first model that Bentley has launched since it became a part of the Volkswagen Group. When it was introduced in 2003, the Continental GT marked the renaissance of the marque, and became the first Bentley to employ volume production methods.
Thus, 14 years after the introduction of the first model – and right on the heels of the launch of a new generation of the beloved grand tourer from the United Kingdom – Bentley is unveiling a special edition that pays tribute to the Continental GT itself: the Continental GT Timeless Series. As its moniker indicates, the limited edition model presents how timeless the Continental GT has been for the British carmaker, even after 14 years of existence.
Essentially, the Timeless Series is derived from the Continental GT Convertible, but has been made more contemporary and more luxurious with the addition of an array of exquisite features and design options. Bentley hasn’t said how exclusive – in terms of the number of examples – the Timeless Series is, but as a limited edition, this droptop offers a number of elements that distinguishes it from a typical Continental GT Convertible. For instance, the Timeless Series features bright upper and lower front grilles as complemented by the Timeless Series badges and tread plates.Read the entire article Bentley pays homage to the Continental GT with limited edition Timeless Series
Would you like your convertible to be inspired by a yacht? Well, you do not have to imagine it anymore - thanks to the Bentley Continental GT Convertible and Mulliner for building one. With its size and opulence, there is no doubt that a yacht would enter your mind when seeing this model. This was made possible by Mulliner, which gave it the Galene Edition treatment. Overall, it has a droptop just like that of a yacht. In case you were wondering, Galene is a very apt name as it’s from the Greek goddess of calm seas.
For Mulliner to achieve this look, they had to work with Princess Yachts for some design cues that are necessary. For instance, the Continental GT Convertible was finished in a Glacier White paint that is accented with a Sequin Blue stripe on the lower end of the car, matching the dark blue roof. The convertible is equipped with a set of 21-inch polished Propeller Wheels.
The interior has plenty more design elements that you would associate with yachts. The cabin is made of a combination of Linen, Portland, Brunel, and Camel tinted leather - creams, taupes and nudes that will make you feel like you’re on a high-end boat. This is complemented by the cabin’s trim in the same Glacier White paint. There is even a hand-painted image of the super yacht on the dashboard for more detail, which was made by illustrator Jaume Vilardell. The trunk floor is more unconventional this time, with the open-pore Pinstripe Walnut finish. You can also find the same finish on the center stack and around the gearshift.Read the entire article Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene looks very much like a yacht

Bentley Mulsanne is Mansory's latest project to date, and it looks much more stylish compared to some of the last ones they have tuned.
The ultra luxurious Mulsanne has been given just the right amount of facelift with additional carbon fiber details from the front bumper lip spoiler, and fog lamps surround. More carbon has been added in the form of side skirts, boot lid spoiler, and rear bumper diffuser.
What completes the new look of the limo would be the huge set of 22-inch forged wheels hugged by 285/35Z ultra-high performance tires on the front and rear axles. The hot wheels were of course, recommended by Mansory.Read the entire article Mansory gives the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne an array of impressive power and style upgrades
