Here’s your first look at the 2018 Bentley Continental GT3 race car

Have you heard of the hottest car from Bentley? Bentley’s third generation Continental GT has gotten more athletic after receiving the latest GT3 upgrade under its new platform. So what makes the GT3-spec extra special? While the Continental GT packs a 626hp 6.0-liter biturbo W12 engine, the GT3’s 4.0-liter 550hp biturbo V8 is a race-specified engine integrated with the Cosworth management system.

In addition to the upgraded dry sump, intake and exhaust, majority of the Continental GT’s standard markings were stripped off to achieve the GT3’s ideal weight. That means, Bentley Motorsport did whatever is necessary to transform the GT into a pure race car--- including stripping out the interior and installing a number of carbon fiber body panels.

The carbon fiber diet was a huge success as the GT3 race car only weighs about 2,866lbs (1300kg) which is significantly lighter than the regular GT. The weight loss is estimated to have reached a total of 2081 pounds or 944 kilograms.

Bidding starts at $13,100 for impaled 2011 Bentley Mulsanne

What is the worst thing that could happen to your car? Well, probably if it gets burned down into ashes, because that’s equivalent to throwing away a huge amount of money, as nothing will be left of it. The next worst thing is probably having a huge piece of metal stab through your car just like that in scenes of a Final Destination movie.

My next question is, are you thinking of getting yourself a Bentley Mulsanne? Well, if you are, there is actually a 2011 model that is currently up for grabs. But it is unlike any other Mulsanne that you have seen out there, because it comes with a special accessory.

We actually don’t want to imagine what happened to this particular car and if there were any casualties. But it seems like it had hit the guardrail, real hard.

Get starstruck with this Startech-styled Bentley Bentayga in Shadow Gold

A Startech-tuned Bentley Bentayga by far is the most lavishly styled exhibit from the sea of aftermarket specialists that graced the IAA. An affiliate of Brabus, Startech has actually brought us the first ever customized variant of the British brand’s highly expensive sport utility vehicle. Since then, over a handful of Bentayga owners have been captivated by Startech’s tuning products and availed the German tuner’s special upgrades despite the incredible price.

What we have here is yet another Bentayga dressed with the tuner’s custom body kit but it seems to stand out more from the rest of them. Featuring the ultra-luxurious Shadow Gold paint finish, this SUV comes equipped with Startech’s huge 23-inch forged Monostar S wheels, valve controlled exhaust, lowering kit, an extended body and the Startech-exclusive front and rear bumpers.

This same finish is also seen on the SUV’s trunk lid badge, air vent surrounds and forged wheels.

Durheimer will be replaced by Adrian Hallmark Jaguar Land Rover Strategy Boss as Bentley CEO

Just a month ago, Wolfgang Durheimer, the former president of Bugatti, was removed from the company so he could replace Stephan Winkelmann, former Lamborghini CEO and Audi Sport boss as he leaves the company. This time, Durheimer will be moved out of Bentley as well, so he could be replaced by a Jaguar Land Rover executive. This man has been Bentley’s CEO and Bugatti’s president since 2014.

Adrian Hallmark will take Durheimer’s position as Bentley CEO, says Manager Magazine. The respected executive is the current head of strategy for Jaguar Land Rover, and has worked for companies like Porsche, VW Asia, and even Saab in his earlier years. It was in 2010 when he finally joined Jaguar. Furthermore, Hallmark already has a history with Bentley, as he had helped boost sales from 1,000 to 10,000 units.

Jaguar Land Rover describes Hallmark as a “very hands on” kind of man. He is so committed to his projects that he puts himself into them, and he likes being able to shape things himself. This is a trait that not many executives possess. With this skill, he was able to demonstrate his part in the successful development of the Bugatti Veyron’s strategic sales, marketing and distribution.

We recently heard that Italian automakers, Ferrari and Lamborghini, are not so keen on building an all-electric sports car just yet. On the contrary, Bentley has just confirmed that there will be an electric sports car coming from their end.

The Bentley Bentayga is currently one of the most powerful SUVs out there - being the fastest and most luxurious SUVs on the market today. The British automaker hoped for it to be a best-selling model, but with a hefty $229,000 price tag, it isn’t that easy to sell. In 2017, Bentley has sold under 700 units in the United States. With this track record, Bentley has decided to back on its plan to develop more SUVs.

In an interview of Bentley by Autocar, the automaker said that they will be developing a sports car instead of a sub-Bentayga SUV. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that it will be completely electric, just like the EXP12 Speed 6e concept that was presented at Geneva earlier this year. Once finished, it will be the luxury automaker’s fifth model in the lineup.

It was only a few days ago that we saw photos of the all new 2018 Bentley Continental GT, and now, someone has already tweaked it, turning it into a GTC. This is an unofficial release of the droptop as it was a rendering made by an artist and was published in X-Tomi Design, but we feel like a variant like this will soon come out in the Continental's lifecycle.

Though the design may look familiar to you, the updates are actually found in the heart of the car instead, with the new MSB underpinnings just like the Porsche Panamera, giving it an overall improvement. Bentley gave the Continental GT its much-needed diet, making it lose a total of 80 kilograms (176 pounds), as its predecessor was extra heavy. After the huge weight loss, we still can't say that it is lightweight, but at least the driving experience will be a little easier.

To lower the nose, the front axle of Crewe's latest GT had been pushed forward a bit, by around 135 millimeters (5.3 inches), giving way to the nose. Under the elongated hood is a powerful biturbo 6.0 liter W12 TSI that carries out as much as 626 horsepower (466 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton metres) or torque. This engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission that helps channel power to the wheels. The GT now has an active four-wheel drive system instead of the 60/40 rear-to-front split. This function helps the car send power where it is necessary as it monitors driving conditions.

Bentley has finally revealed the new Continental GT a few weeks before it makes its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer is more than proud of it, describing it as the “pinnacle” of their engineering and design achievements. He continues to say that the brand defines new luxury in the automotive industry.

The English automaker focuses on combining the latest technology with classic effects as their customers demand that. For instance, they feature the 12.3-inch touchscreen that gives information about the car via a revolving James Bond-style dashboard, but even better as this one is compatible with your Apple devices with its Apple Carplay.

For those who are keen on personalizing their Continental GT, Bentley is proud to say that they have a wide array of options for you. For the exterior paint alone, you can choose from as many as 17 colours, with up to 70 hues. As for the interior, there are 8 different handcrafted designs, and 15 options for the interior trim hide. Customers can either opt for 21-inch wheels or upgrade it to 22-inches for a higher ride.

If there is one model that British carmaker Bentley could pay tribute to, it must be the Continental GT grand tourer. After all, the Continental GT is the first model that Bentley has launched since it became a part of the Volkswagen Group. When it was introduced in 2003, the Continental GT marked the renaissance of the marque, and became the first Bentley to employ volume production methods.

Thus, 14 years after the introduction of the first model – and right on the heels of the launch of a new generation of the beloved grand tourer from the United Kingdom – Bentley is unveiling a special edition that pays tribute to the Continental GT itself: the Continental GT Timeless Series. As its moniker indicates, the limited edition model presents how timeless the Continental GT has been for the British carmaker, even after 14 years of existence.

Essentially, the Timeless Series is derived from the Continental GT Convertible, but has been made more contemporary and more luxurious with the addition of an array of exquisite features and design options. Bentley hasn’t said how exclusive – in terms of the number of examples – the Timeless Series is, but as a limited edition, this droptop offers a number of elements that distinguishes it from a typical Continental GT Convertible. For instance, the Timeless Series features bright upper and lower front grilles as complemented by the Timeless Series badges and tread plates.

Would you like your convertible to be inspired by a yacht? Well, you do not have to imagine it anymore - thanks to the Bentley Continental GT Convertible and Mulliner for building one. With its size and opulence, there is no doubt that a yacht would enter your mind when seeing this model. This was made possible by Mulliner, which gave it the Galene Edition treatment. Overall, it has a droptop just like that of a yacht. In case you were wondering, Galene is a very apt name as it’s from the Greek goddess of calm seas.

For Mulliner to achieve this look, they had to work with Princess Yachts for some design cues that are necessary. For instance, the Continental GT Convertible was finished in a Glacier White paint that is accented with a Sequin Blue stripe on the lower end of the car, matching the dark blue roof. The convertible is equipped with a set of 21-inch polished Propeller Wheels.

The interior has plenty more design elements that you would associate with yachts. The cabin is made of a combination of Linen, Portland, Brunel, and Camel tinted leather - creams, taupes and nudes that will make you feel like you’re on a high-end boat. This is complemented by the cabin’s trim in the same Glacier White paint. There is even a hand-painted image of the super yacht on the dashboard for more detail, which was made by illustrator Jaume Vilardell. The trunk floor is more unconventional this time, with the open-pore Pinstripe Walnut finish. You can also find the same finish on the center stack and around the gearshift.

Bentley Mulsanne is Mansory's latest project to date, and it looks much more stylish compared to some of the last ones they have tuned.

The ultra luxurious Mulsanne has been given just the right amount of facelift with additional carbon fiber details from the front bumper lip spoiler, and fog lamps surround. More carbon has been added in the form of side skirts, boot lid spoiler, and rear bumper diffuser.

What completes the new look of the limo would be the huge set of 22-inch forged wheels hugged by 285/35Z ultra-high performance tires on the front and rear axles. The hot wheels were of course, recommended by Mansory.

Bentley is reportedly in the midst of creating the next generation of the Bentley Flying Spur luxury sedan. While the development of the all-new model is ongoing, the British luxury carmaker has found a new way to make the current generation stay relevant. Yes, Bentley has managed to keep the current model alive by releasing the new Flying Spur Design Series by Mulliner.

Bentley’s personal commissioning division, Mulliner, has been charged to create just 100 examples of the new Flying Spur Design Series, which is basically a unique design take on the current generation of the luxury sedan. The Flying Spur Design Series allows clients to pick from any of the five interior and exterior accent selections: Azure Purple, Kingfisher, Mandarin, Pillar Box Red and White. Of course, the Flying Spur Design Series could be availed in any of the models in the range: V8, W12, V8 S and W12 S.

The new Flying Spur Design Series features an exterior defined by a lower fine line as well as LED Welcome Lamps, with V8 S and W12 S models providing a bold front bumper design. Both the front bumper detail and the lower fine line are accentuated by a stunning color accent. Interestingly, the Welcome Lamps illuminates the word “Mulliner” onto the ground at night.

Bentley is one of the most prominent and most revered names in the automotive industry. It is one of the most favored British classics with unparalleled abilities performance-wise and of course, in terms of customer service. Recently, Bentley has been stepping up the latter by offering the new Bentley On-Demand service. It is a new and innovative luxury connected-mobility service that is designed to provide “luxury mobility solution” to their customers in any location of their choice without having to go through the inconvenience of traditional car rental services.

What does this new Bentley On-Demand service offer? Well, as its name suggests: members may request for a Bentley to be delivered at a time and place of their choice. It’s like a rent-a-car program that exclusively caters to Bentley owners. So, for days when the good old Mulsanne doesn’t feel posh enough to get you through your errands, the Bentley On-Demand service is the way to go.

How do existing Bentley owners access or avail of this concierge service? First step is to download the Bentley Network app, and then owners are asked to validate their account. Once the app is downloaded and the account validated, the users may then browse through an extensive range of luxury Bentley models available and reserve their choice and specify a convenient location for the delivery. An hour before delivery, a “courteous reminder” of the said reservation is sent to the customer and prior to the arrival of the vehicle, the customer is once again notified prior to the arrival of the vehicle to inform them of the concierge’s (and the car’s) arrival. These steps ensure that there will be minimal disruption on the part of the customer.

Bentley Motorsport has hit the headlines with the announcement of its entry into the 2017 Nurburgring 24 hour race. At the same time, it revealed a new, bespoke, limited edition Continental that will be joining the race – it’s dubbed as the Continental 24.

The GT3 will be participating at the endurance ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race on the Nurburgring, along with two other cars from Bentley Team ABT - all three cars will be running on Yokohama tires. To celebrate this milestone, the Continental 24 was built. We are aware that an all-new Bentley Continental GT is coming very soon, but today, all the attention is on the Continental 24. The Supersports ranger topper is dressed in a Monaco Yellow and Black Crystal combination inspired by the company’s own track-only GT3.

The model is created exclusively for the European market. If the yellow and black colour combination is not your style, you can choose the St James’ Red and Black Crystal finish, or a simpler single-tone paint scheme as an option. The limited edition model will be equipped with a set of 21-inch alloy wheels with either yellow or red accents, depending on the body’s finish. To give it some exterior accents, there will be carbon fiber door mirror caps, black body accents, and brake calipers all in a darker hue.

We do know that a few people are not into animal leather. In today’s world, more and more people are learning to stay away from leather or anything that would cost an animal’s life, and veganism is not just limited to what we consume.

So as an automotive company, how do you cope with this change? We know that they usually just offer fabric or leather to finish off the seats and the cabin of their cars. But guess what? Bentley is way ahead of its competitors and according to Stefan Sielaff, Director of Design, the company has already been exploring several vegan-friendly options for upholsteries and trims. This is part of their plan to produce more eco-friendly vehicles in the near future, and by that I don’t just mean hybrid or electric vehicles, though that is still part of the plan.

During the Financial Times Future of the Car Summit, Sielaff said that “you can’t sell an animal containing product like a Bentley, with 20 leather hides, to someone with a vegan lifestyle” - and clearly, this is where their idea rooted from. These customers ask the company for leather alternatives that they can offer, so if they want to make a sale, then they will have to keep up with changing trends. Even if this means they have to begin from research and development - just to keep customers satisfied, especially if your company offers custom-made solutions to customers.

Should Bentley come up with more variants of the Bentayga? Well, according to their CEO Wolfgang Durheimer, it seems that they should do that so they won’t get left behind by their rivals. In an interview with Autocar, Durheimer said that derivatives are important because of the urgency to be “the newest kid in town for customers”.

The British automaker has got some very exciting plans for its plans to expand its lineup. For instance, the company wants to build a quicker version of what is already out there. So what variants should we expect from Bentley? Well, they did a rendering of a coupe version so that’s likely to be on their plate. They also intend to produce a more potent GT3 R in line with the Continental that bears the same name.

But CEO Durheimer has made it clear that none of these ideas are certain yet.

Genesis Motors, the luxury vehicle division of South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company, takes a step further from their usual designs as they unveiled the G90 Special Edition - a vehicle that represents a marriage of luxury and technology. Hyundai also announced new developments at the latest Seoul Motor Show this week.

Dressed in a two-tone paint finish, the G90 Special Edition showcased three different versions. The first one came in a metallic brown and matte grey combo, the other one was a matte grey and silver, and last but not the least, a metallic blue and solid white finish - all of these colour combinations were “inspired by a finely-tailored gentleman’s pin-stripe suit” according to the company.

We strongly feel like the South Korean automaker is shying away from conservative designs and instead is leaning towards something different this time. The Special Edition vehicle features an upgraded interior with Nubuck leather trim, accent stitching, upgraded carpeting, and more. While each of them has a hand-painted coach line running all around the sides of the vehicle’s exterior. At first glance, you would think it is a Bentley. You’ll just be surprised that it is a Genesis when you have a closer look. Perhaps it’s because the former design director of Bentley, Luc Donckerwolke, has been leading the design brand since early last year.

As a child, most of us would’ve probably enjoyed going through numerous hunting expeditions trying to find the guy with the red-and-white striped shirt called Waldo or probably Ronald McDonalds hidden behind a post in a festival scene or something like that. You might also remember the moments when it took you hours of literally having to stick your face into the photo just to find them.

These things may sound oddly old school to the new generation as there are now new technological innovations such as the NASA-derived technology called the Gigapixel that allows people to zoom into an image further than what has been previously been possible.

One of the current users of this technology is none other than British automaker Bentley. Last year, Bentley set-up a special camera 2,300 feet away from the Golden Gate Bridge to snap a gigapixel image of the Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase crossing it. Seven hundred photos were taken from the same location and then stitched together into one photo.

We are all aware that certain models and configurations of the Tesla Model X, as well as the Bentley Bentayga, both cost over six figures. So, what if both models were combined together? Well, it had already been done by Tesla tuner, TSportline. It gave this Model X such a grand makeover that anyone on the roads will definitely do a double take.

With over $60,000 worth of customizations, the model is stunning. For instance, it has a bespoke Bentley Red leather interior - with perforated leather and signature diamond stitching. The interior alone costs $25,000. And it’s not just that of course, it comes with two-toned gloss carbon fiber and Bentley leather steering wheel that costs an additional $3,200, plus a gloss carbon fiber interior package, and extra thick hand-carved floor mats.

The sound system, which is priced at $11,500, is a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 EQ Processor that can individually tune 13 component speakers to create the perfect sound. The good thing is that this custom sound system does not draw power from the battery system.

Slated for its premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show this coming week, Bentley introduces the Bentayga Mulliner ahead of its timetable. And what have we got so far? Well, let’s just say there’s an optional gold clock worth 154,000 USD and a champagne cooler to go with it.

Bentley’s “ultimate luxury SUV” was built by the British marque’s Mulliner bespoke division --- just in case the standard Bentayga model’s well-appointed cabin isn’t enough to please everyone on board. And that’s even after considering the fact that a regular Bentayga SUV already costs $200,000 and comes with an impressive level of luxury.

But since there is always room for improvement, it only means Bentley is no exception. However, if judging from the overall exterior, there seems to be nothing new as compared to the standard version of the SUV. At least in terms of shape.
