Ultra-rare 2006 Fisker Latigo based on BMW M6 is for sale

Former Aston Martin designer turned entrepreneur, Henrik Fisker, is known for designing models like the Aston Martin DB9, the BMW Z8, the Fisker Karma or Karma Revero, and the newest one out there, which is the Fisker EMotion. But there is another model here that you probably did not even know of - the 2006 Fisker Latigo.

Fisker only built one example of this model, making it the very first and last production model. And it is now up for grabs on the website Bring a Trailer. To get this rare model brand new, it would have cost about $216,000; but currently, its value has gone down a bit and bidding is now set at about $37,500.

Fisker’s original plan was to build 150 units of the Latigo. But after they developed the prototype and built the first production model, the project was halted. One of the reasons for this was the rising of oil prices. This coachbuilt Fisker sits on the same platform as the 2006 BMW M6, while featuring a rebuilt 5.0 liter V10 tuned by RD Sport, which is paired to a seven speed sequential manual transmission. With that engine, this model can produce 665 horsepower (495 kilowatts).

After the 2018 BMW 6 Series GT’s reveal, we felt as though the Bavarian company received comments that they did not expect to hear from readers and fans. It seems like the latest liftback model did not appeal to many, and so far, the new model has not got a lot of fans. So, X-Tomi Design did a rendering of the 6 Series with an M6 guise, giving it some subtle changes, to make it look more appealing.

First of all, X-Tomi Design gave the M6 GT larger intakes and deeper side sills up in the front fascia. The grille has been given a black trim instead of the silver which makes it appear larger too. There have been several details that have been added such as the carbon fiber roof that make for a sportier design. It also comes with chrome side mirror covers instead of camouflaging it with the rest of the body. The front spoiler and side skirts have been made to look more aggressive, while the suspension has been lowered as well. To finish off the design, the wheels have been made bigger and were blacked out. The darker trims definitely made the 6 Series look more aggressive, and look less of a family car.

Well, I would say that the rendering did give the current model more appeal. With the high contrasts of the blacks and the whites, it definitely got more character as opposed to the original 6 series.

BMW M6 GT3 Art Car by popular Chinese multimedia artist Cao Fei is unveiled in Beijing

Almost all of us see various BMW cars as running works of art. That’s no surprise as the German automaker is always in the lookout for ways to further boost the cultural credentials of its releases. Ever since 1967, the German marque has been releasing vehicles to act as real life canvases for notable artists, but the finished outputs are mostly physical pieces. Recently, BMW's history of devoted Art Cars has reached new heights of creativity with their latest iteration. Chinese multimedia artist Cao Fei made a one of a kind design for the BMW Art Car #18 that requires you to download a specific app to be able to immerse in the beauty and uniqueness of her modern creation.

BMW unveiled an Art Car that is unlike the previous ones, and it recently debuted at the Minsheng Art Museum. Cao Fei, the youngest ever to be commissioned for a BMW Art Car, utilized the M6 GT3 as its base. The new GT3 Art Car is set to mirror the speed of change in China, following Jeff Koons’ and John Baldessari’s creations before it. But wait until it gets on the road, as this brown BMW M6 Convertible -- as tuned by G-Power -- is a sleeper that could go toe to toe with a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in terms of top speed.

Don’t be mistaken; we’re not describing the BMW M6 Convertible as slow. After all, the BMW M6 Convertible is the performance version of the drop-top 6 Series. The most powerful BMW 6 Series Convertible is served by a 4.4-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo V-8 engine that is able to deliver at most 443 hp (330 kW or 450 PS) of output available between 5,500 rpm and 6,000 rpm, as well as up to 650 Nm of torque available between 2,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The new BMW M6 GTLM, the carmaker’s latest endurance racer, will have its first-ever public test at the IMSA test at Daytona International Speedway (Nov. 17-18, 2015) at the hands of the BMW Team RLL. It was announced last season that BMW Team RLL would field two M6 GTLM race cars in the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Weeks prior, the M6 GTLM had its first test in the United States at Sebring International Raceway in October. The three-day test also involved a BMW M6 GT3 that will serve as the basis for the carmaker’s global customer racing program.

M6 GTLM was piloted by 2015 season drivers Bill Auberlen, Dirk Werner, John Edwards and 2014 GTLM driver champion Kuno Wittmer. Wittmer recently signed with BMW of North America to participate in three endurance races of the IMSA Championship: the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Petit Le Mans.

BMW Motorsport revealed that it has a new challenger in the works for the elite class of the North American GT racing with the BMW M6 GTLM. This is in addition to the BMW M6 GT3 that will continue to participate in FIA GT3 regulated races events and series.

The company expects to return for the eighth season with its BMW Team RLL. The brand will also field its recently developed race car for the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt shared that it was logical to create a vehicle for the WeatherTech Championship using BMW M6 GT3 as the basis.

The M6 GTLM has all the necessary ingredients that can thrill its many fans in the U.S. and Canada. Marquardt adds that the brand is keen to continue all its work commitment on the opposite of the Atlantic with the highest level especially as the WeatherTech Championship remains to be a fantastic stage with legendary venues and a high quality field. BMW M GmbH has released its newest Competition Edition during the 66th Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA). BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition has the Competition Package with its V8 4.4-litre petrol engine and M TwinPower Turbo technology.

The engine enables power output of 441 kW (600 hp) with 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of maximum torque. Combining it with the M Driverʼs Package, albeit optional, can result to a peak speed of 305 km/h or around 189.5 mph. the same package gives a combined CO2 emissions rating of 231 g/km with a combined fuel consumption of 28.5 mpg (9.9/100 km).

The interior shows BMW trademark with the fine-grain full leather Merino and black contrast stitching. This feature is also available in the Yellow with Austin Yellow metallic paintwork and the Opal White with its Alpine White paintwork.

Starting July 2015, BMW will replace the current Competition Package for the M6 Coupe, M6 Gran Coupe and M6 Convertible with an upgraded version. The most notable feature is that the power boost for the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine is 40 hp (29 kW) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) of torque.

This means that the V8 engine fitted with M TwinPower Turbo Technology will offer 600 hp (441 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque available between 1,500 and 6,000 rpm.

BMW says that the combined fuel consumption will be 9.9 l/100 km (28.5 mpg imp) for the M6 Coupe and M6 Gran Coupe models, while the M6 Convertible will need 10.3 l/100 km (27.4 mpg imp). Combined CO2 emissions will be 231 g/km for the M6 Coupe and M6 Gran Coupe and 239 g/km for the M6 Convertible.

According to him, the next-generation BMW M5 and M6 could ditch the twin-turbo V8 and return to an all-new V10 engine. That could be impressive, as we loved the sound of the old V10 found on the previous M5/M6 models, although we are not bothered by the sound of the current V8 engine.

Still, there is nothing confirmed yet, just some rumors, but we all know that there is no fire without smoke. In addition, BMW is considering a G31 M5 Touring as Audi RS6 Avant is getting more popular in Continental Europe.

In addition, there are new wing mirror caps painted in high gloss black. Inside, the vehicle features a carbon fiber trim with Fire Orange accents as well as an M steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara. As you can see from the photos, the new aerodynamic kit consists of a new front bumper with larger air inlets and cup wings, new side sills, enlarged front and rear fenders, a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser painted in high-gloss black, as well as a rear trunk lip.

Manhart, the well-known German tuning company, unveiled their MH6 700 at the Essen Motor Show, but the official details, photos and specs were released today. Based on the BMW M6 (F13) Coupe, the Manhart MH6 700 comes with an extensive carbon exterior package consisting of a front spoiler with optional “RS” front spoiler blade, new engine hood with GTR air inlets, a new rear air diffusor and a trunk lid spoiler.

Moreover, a new set of carbon fiber mirror caps and a set of covers for the front skirt were added. The vehicle you see in the photos also received a technically-impressive full wrap in longitudinal cross-section aluminum metallic with incorporated (embossment look alike) Manhart Performance logos.

The wheel-arches house the Manhart Concave ONE wheels in the new cast version of these concave-formed rims. The light alloy rims are covered by Michelin Pilot Super Sport High-Performance tires of the dimensions 265/30ZR21 on the front and 305/25ZR21 on the rear axle. The compression and rebound-adjustable KW variation 3 coilover kit is supplied by Manhart Performance.

BMW has unveiled that its BMW M5 and BMW M6 models will be offered with a new range of specialty performance parts and accessories. Among the most significant updates are the M Carbon-Ceramic Brake System and M Performance Exhaust System. These modifications are offered for the three BMW M6 variants: the coupe, the convertible, and the four-door Gran Coupe.

The carbon-ceramic brake system on the BMW M5 and M6 features rotors that are lighter and more heat-resistant than the standard braking system. The system is available together with the set of 20-inch M light-alloy wheels and uses brake discs with 16.1-inch diameter on the front axle. This is 0.4-inch better than the 15.7-inches of the standard model.

The rear brake discs still have a diameter of 15.6 inches. The brake system will be lighter than the standard BMW M5 or BMW M6 by 42.8 lbs, allowing for improved deceleration and handling. To achieve that distinct growl, BMW M GmbH and specialists from Akrapovic have built a full titanium exhaust system that decreases the weight by over 22 lbs, boosting performance as well as giving it a sportier sound.
