The Middle East is home to a number of one-off vehicles, as well as specially modified luxury cars. Almost every month, we hear about new cars being unveiled or brought into the country, and a lot of them are BMWs.
Now, one of the latest models that BMW Abu Dhabi Motors has on display is the mind blowing range-topping 7 Series that’s currently on sale. The last model we saw before this was the impressive M760Li xDrive finished in Imola Red, which we saw a few weeks ago. Now, BMW’s Long Beach Blue M760Li xDrive is just as striking as the last model we saw.
This is definitely not the first time we have seen this hue on a car. In fact, it has been used on different models like the M2 pocket rocket. You might also agree if I say that this colour looks a bit too wild on the large sedan. Thanks to the black carbon fiber accents all throughout the car, from the mirror caps to the 21-inch multi-spoke 629 design wheels, the whole package now looks so much better. But that’s not all that this car has to boast about. The car also has a 3D Design Body kit that adds some nice details here and there. Lastly, it has got a trunk lid spoiler from the M Performance.Read the entire article M760Li Individual Long Beach Blue is BMW Abu Dhabi’s latest flagship on display
The current BMW 7 Series made its debut two years ago at the BMW headquarters in Munich, before it made its way to the International Auto Show in Germany weeks after. It was the first 7 Series that was introduced as a plug-in hybrid variant.
However, this one-off M760Li was customized by BMW Individual customization program. It wears an Austin Yellow paint job that looks good on the sedan, while riding on a set of 21-inch multi-spoke wheels. This is the only 7 Series that has been painted in this unique shade. This colour is typically reserved for an M4 or an M3, and you can find this unit showcased in BMW Abu Dhabi.
The 7 Series’ interior is then finished in creme-coloured leather, which stretches from the seats, to the dash, and to the center console. To bring some flair to it, BMW Individual also added wood paneling and black leather on the steering wheel and on the dash. When looking at it, the model’s exterior paint and interior colours seem to be lacking some contrast. We think that a black interior would make a better contrast with the yellow paint.Read the entire article Austin Yellow M760Li by BMW Individual displayed in Abu Dhabi
BMW is introducing a new flagship model for its 7 Series – the new BMW M760Li xDrive that’s powered by a new M Performance TwinPower Turbo V12 petrol engine. Aside from its powerful and confident performance, the new BMW M760Li xDrive also takes pride in its capability to provide segment-leading driving dynamics and ride comfort, as supported by an array of innovative driver assistance systems.
Drivers and passengers alike will surely like the stability, handling and ride comfort offered by the new BMW M760Li xDrive. The key to this is the cutting-edge Executive Drive Pro suspension system with support from active roll stabilization that works to minimize body movements.
The new BMW M760Li xDrive is also fitted with exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in matt Cerium Grey metallic wrapped in performance tires. This new 7-Series flagship features the rear-biased BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system that distributes engine power to all four wheels when needed, thereby ensuring that the vehicle delivers a remarkable level of performance in all conditions.Read the entire article BMW launches new M760i xDrive, M760Li xDrive flagship models
After Opel’s launch of the Insignia GSi last year in a liftback and a wagon body styles, Opel is ready to add the “GSi” badge on the Corsa. This will probably be the last variant for the current generation of the supermini, and the hot hatch version will have a three door body style to make it stand out from the lesser models of the range. Standard features that it will get include larger air vents, a honeycomb front grille, red brake calipers, a chrome exhaust tip, and a new set of 18 inch wheels.
The Opel Corsa GSi’s main highlight will be the Sport chassis that it borrowed from the hardcore OPC version that makes the hatchback feel more nimble around the corners. It had also been equipped with a beefier roof mounted spoiler that will boast the model’s visual appearance, while also generating extra downforce to keep the car close to the road when it is going fast.
At this moment, the automaker has not shared photos of the car’s interior cabin, but we do know that customers will be given the possibility to upgrade to Recaro seats if they are willing to spend a little more. There is also a leather wrapped sports steering wheel, as well as the leather wrapped sporty gearshift knob. An aluminum sport pedal set finishes off the upgrades in the Corsa OPC’s cabin.Read the entire article 2018 Opel Corsa GSi now has a sport chassis from OPC variant
Another year means another Formula 1 season. And soon, the 2018 season will kick off this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. This year marks the 23rd consecutive year and Mercedes Benz, again will provide the Safety Car for the most important motorsport event. Since 1996, Mercedes-Benz had been the supplier of the event’s safety car, from way back when it was the C36 AMG, to the Mercedes-AMG GT R today - this might be the most powerful F1 Safety Car of all time.
Under its hood is a biturbo 4.0 liter V8 engine that enables the car to carry out 577 horsepower. During the 2015 to 2017 seasons, the GT R just follows the lesser GT S version. Also, it will be Bernd Maylander who will be behind the wheel of F1’s official Safety Car.
In Maylander’s interview, he said that the highlight of this car would be its driving dynamics. And that he is glad that it is a level higher than the AMG GT S of recent years. He added that the safety car should be deployed as rarely as possible, but when they have to bunch up the Formula 1 field and drive it around the track, then it will be equipped with the AMG GT R.Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R is currently the most powerful safety car
In the past couple of months, there have been a number of special edition McLarens that have been released in the past few months. Some of these include the 720S Atlantic Blue and the 570S MSO X. Now, the newest member of the range is arguably more sinister than the rest, and they call it the MSO Black Collection. This McLaren 570GT package will only be limited to 100 examples worldwide, and will definitely see the sporty coupe draped in an all-black, stealth design.
Moving on to the outside, the 570GT will be dressed in a one-off Carbon Black finish, that will be complemented with an MSO Black Pack that replaces the Dark Palladium features available in the standard model.
This includes things like the front and rear splitters, side skirts, and air intakes, and all these will be finished in black. The new set of five twin-spoke lightweight forged wheels will also get a new gloss black diamond finish, which will then be wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. The package also adds carbon ceramic brakes and black brake calipers to the car.Read the entire article 2018 McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection looks darker than ever
Have you been imagining yourself driving a Polestar 1? If you have, now is the time for you to pre-order the 600 horsepower (447 kilowatt) hybrid coupe before it arrives in showrooms in 2019. A couple of days ago, the automaker decided to begin taking orders for interested buyers in exactly 18 countries including the United States, United Kingdon, China, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Norway, the Netherlands, and Italy.
For one to get a reservation slot, a $2,500 (2,500 euros or 20,000 yen) deposit must be made, and the great thing about this is that it is refundable.
Since the Polestar 1 made its debut in the public, the company found out that around 7,000 people were interested in owning one of these, and this idea encouraged the automaker even more, according to Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. This is what motivated them to take orders this early, and soon they will be taking the next step towards delivering this beautiful car to their first batch of customers.Read the entire article You may now pre-order a Polestar 1 for only $2500
Lamborghini has made it a point for its future vehicles to have the same renowned exhaust note. That is why the automaker has put the focus on hybrids instead of going full throttle on building fully electric vehicles. Hybrids are perfect because they reduce dangerous emissions but customers and onlookers alike still get to enjoy the sound of its powerplant.
In an interview between CarAdvice and Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, we learned that the automaker looks at hybrid machines as the answer to carbon dioxide requirements. With a hybrid, they’re able to keep the natural aspirated appeal but reduce the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
Reggiani also mentioned that the future Aventador and Huracan will still retain their naturally aspirated engine, but it is not impossible for them to have hybrid assistance. The chief technical officer believes that this will have two major advantages: a better throttle response and the fact that it will provide a differentiating factor over turbocharged, supercar competitors like Ferrari and McLaren cars.Read the entire article Lamborghini will stick with hybrids to retain brand’s unique engine sound
The Italdesign Zerouno supercar surprised the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with an aerodynamic carbon fiber body and a race-spec rear wing with a central longitudinal fin. A year later at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Italdesign Automobili Speciali is unveiling an open-top version of the super coupe – the new Italdesign Zerouno Duerta.
The new Italdesign Zerouno Duerta marks the second chapter of the Automobili Speciali project that was launched in 2017. It all started with the Zerouno exclusive ultra-low series coupes, of which five models sold in a few months after they were presented. The moniker Duerta is derived from ‘duerta’ of Piedmontese dialect that means ‘open’ – referring to the open-top nature of the second Zerouno model.
According to Jorg Astalosch, chief executive of Italdesign, the huge success of the Zerouno coupe was only the beginning. Likewise, the Zerouno Duerta won’t be the last, as the brand Automobili Speciali is all-set to continue beyond this targa-top model. The unveiling of the Zerouno Duerta at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show is a fitting way to celebrate Italdesign's 50th anniversary year while further proving the company’s 'Best is Next' motto.Read the entire article Italdesign Zerouno Duerta combines supercar performance with open-top experience
While Ford prepares for the production of the new Ranger Raptor in Europe, other automakers like Nissan are also looking into the idea of an off road oriented pickup. During an interview with Australian publication Motoring, the Japanese automaker suggested a similar go fast treatment similar to that of the new Ranger.
Meanwhile, Nissan’s Australian division has already urged executives to carry on with the more powerful Navarra. This project has not been officially confirmed, also because the small pickup shares the same platform with the more luxurious Mercedes-Benz X Class. Therefore, it will not be possible to see Nissan adopt the same 3.0 liter turbodiesel V6 found on the new Benz.
Ashwani Gupta, Renault Nissan’s global light commercial vehicle boss, informed the publication that he will soon be meeting with Australian executives during the launch of the Series 3 D23 Navara. He also mentioned that he would be open to seeing a more rugged Navara.Read the entire article Nissan considers plan to build performance version of Navara that could beat Ford Ranger Raptor
Lotus has been developing a new generation of sports cars, but these cars will probably not be available until 2020. So for customers who don’t want to wait too long, the automaker decided that they will sell one last special version of the immortal 3-Eleven 430, or the “most extreme machine” it has ever built.
This will also be highly exclusive as they only have plans of assembling 20 examples, each one carrying a price of £102,000 or approximately $142,000 at current exchange rates.
This 3-Eleven 430 has been equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 engine under its hood, producing as much as 430 horsepower (321 kilowatts) and 324 pound feet (440 Newton metres) of torque. The automaker boasts that in just 3.2 seconds, this model can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour), before it continues to its top speed of 180 miles per hour (290 kilometers per hour).Read the entire article Lotus launches fastest, most extreme machine yet – the 3-Eleven 430
Ferrari's latest 488 Pista is one car that could outdo even the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. And after all the major leaks, the said vehicle is finally here. In fact, the press release included all the figures that you would like to know, proving that the 488 GTB you are looking at now is a much more powerful and substantially lighter version of the 488 GTB.
The 488 Pista (Italian for “track”) was brought to Maranello, and it has lost a lot of weight since then – a significant 90 kilograms (198 pounds). It now has a dry weight of only 1,280 kilograms (2,822 pounds), when the car is fitted with all the available optional lightweight goodies.
So after all the weight this car has lost, the automaker decided to give it an additional 50 horsepower for an overall output of 711 horsepower (530 kilowatts), which the automaker says is the largest increase in engine power for a special series car.Read the entire article Ferrari 488 Pista offers massive 711 hp, 700 Nm to hit 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.85 seconds
After a number of spy photos, as well as some leaked ones, we can finally say that 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is going to arrive soon, with the latest, high resolution photos that had been published. Porsche has officially unveiled the model. The car will make its first public appearance in a few weeks at the Geneva Motor Show, following this world debut that came as a surprise.
Aside from the photos that were published, it seems like earlier reports were accurate when they said that the 911 will have a naturally aspirated engine, and that its 4.0 liter flat-six makes 520 horsepower (383 kilowatts) and can rev itself further than you can think of, precisely 9,000 rpm.
That’s 20 hp more than its predecessor’s engine. We first thought that maybe Porsche will increase engine displacement for the GT3 RS, but apparently not. The current engine says that it will hit 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in only 3.2 seconds before continuing to its top speed of 312 kilometers per hour (194 miles per hour).Read the entire article 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS goes official with 520 hp
Back in 1988, the Bavarians of BMW M decided to chop the roof off one of their cars to create a high performance M3 convertible. And now, the automakers feel the need to celebrate that moment. That being said, check out this new BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre, following other anniversary models like that of last year’s 7 Series, 2016’s M3, and 2014’s M5.
The special edition M4 Convertible comes equipped with the M Competition Package and some other M goodies. This includes an adaptive suspension with sport mode, a sport exhaust system, and an active differential. Under its hood is a biturbo inline-six 3.0 liter engine that has been tweaked to bring out 450 horsepower (331 kilowatts), thanks to the very same package.
The automaker did not mention anything with regards to the car’s speed and acceleration though. But the standard model can hit the 62 miles per hour sprint in 4.6 seconds before hitting its top speed of 155 miles per hour.Read the entire article BMW unveils the M4 Convertible (F83) Edition 30 Jahre
If there’s one Toyota car that has kept everyone guessing, it is the Supra. It is finally coming our way as it makes its return on March 6 at the Geneva Motor Show. The automaker recently gave us a teaser of this dark silhouette that really shows nothing but the rear of the car with a massive spoiler attached to it.
Now, new images of the Toyota Supra had been published in a Japanese magazine and, this time, the photos show the entire car and not just the rear.
Though we would like to believe that this is the Toyota Supra that we will see next month, we have having some doubts about it as well. These photos have been shared on the Supra MXV forum, but were sourced from Best Car Magazine.Read the entire article Japanese magazine leaks undisguised images of the Toyota Supra
A lot of people question why there is even a 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65, firstly because it costs a lot more than the S63 sedan ($82,500 more) and yet, it is 0.7 second slower when sprinting from zero to 60 miles per hour. Both cars not only have similar top speeds, but they both offer the same options and features. In other words, we do not clearly see why the S65 should cost a lot more than the S63. We don’t see it both on paper, and when looking at it. Therefore, paying for so much more is quite irrational. But I guess that’s why its customers would want this model.
Nick Martin, AMG Product Manager at Mercedes-Benz, says that there will always be someone who prefers a 12-cylinder, and that they will buy the ultimate in performance because that’s their character.
The S65 is one of the few models out there that are still offered with a V12 engine, hence making it very exclusive. And of all Mercedes models, this is the only one with the S-Class powertrain that has been unchanged for the 2018 model year. Martin continues to say that the S65 has a niche market, and these people buy it not for logical reasons but because it is considered the best model in the dealership, saying that “the S65 exists because there is no S75”.Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 exists only for customers who want the best in luxury regardless of cost
Toyota recently published a teaser with the title “The Legend Returns.” It’s not a secret as we already know that they are referring to none other than the Toyota Supra. For the longest time, Toyota enthusiasts anticipated the time that they will see the Supra, and finally, the automaker announced on social media, their media website and to email boxes around the world that it will arrive at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, describing it as a “modern racing concept” that they will bring back to the market.
Here is the thing, the automaker did not actually say which car it would be as they did not mention any names. In fact, it could be a new 2000GT. However, no matter how cool this vintage car is, it still is not considered to be as iconic as the Supra, which is why we doubt that it is the one being teased.
Also, another thing we are aware of is Toyota’s new project with BMW, the new sports car they are currently working on, that shares its underpinnings among both brands. We have actually seen this car, the next Z4 (the BMW version), a few times in prototype format, and we have seen both models being tested together. Also, we have already heard rumours from before that Toyota might unveil the new Supra in Geneva - and this is finally it, at least we think it is.Read the entire article Toyota shows off this sexy silhouette as teaser of Supra’s arrival at 2018 Geneva Motor Show
You probably are still reeling from the memory of having seen the $1.6 million Italdesign Zerouno Coupe last year. If you really wanted one and got disappointed when the coupe sold out in just a few months, you’re in luck as there will soon be a roadster version. The coupe was quite unforgettable. Here’s a brief description of it.
Its body was made with mostly carbon fiber, and under its hood is an Audi sourced 5.2 liter V10 that produces as much as 610 horsepower (449 kilowatts) and 413 pound-feet (560 Newton-metres) of torque. And in 3.2 seconds, it is able to sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour), before continuing on to hit a top speed of 205 miles per hour (330 kilometers per hour).
If you really wanted to get the Zerouno coupe but missed out, there is nothing to worry about, as Italdesign recently published a sexier, topless version of it. It will make its way to Geneva next month. We expect the Zerouno convertible to have pretty much the same style elements as the original coupe version, with the same performance too.Read the entire article Italdesign celebrates 50th anniversary with the Zerouno Roadster
At next month’s 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) will showcase the revival of the iconic Lancia Stratos. Getting your hands on the New Stratos alone, which is only available in 25 examples, will be very costly.
According to Automotive News Europe, one of those will set you back 500,000 euros (around $618,000 at current exchange rates). But even if you have that amount of money, you still won’t get the New Stratos, not unless you supply a Ferrari 430 Scuderia donor car. Currently, that car has an estimated value of $108,821, according to Kelly Blue Book.
Once you’ve provided MAT with everything they need, they will chop off 7.9 inches (200 millimeters) out of the Ferrari’s wheelbase, while adding a modified intake and exhaust. The 4.3 liter V8 engine will not be able to carry out 533 horsepower (397 kilowatts), from its original output of 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts). If this is not powerful enough for you, then you can go for additional options that will boost its power to as much as 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts).Read the entire article You need to have at least $720K to get your hands on the newly revived Stratos
It has been a while since we first started hearing rumours about a more powerful BMW M2. And just like the M4 CS and the M3 CS, it was a long time in the making. In fact, I’m sure you remember seeing the spy shots of the so called M2 CS (Competition Series) going around the Nürburgring. But recently, new photos have emerged, revealing the identity of the sporty coupe ahead of its scheduled reveal.
It was a BimmerPost.com user that apparently shared these photos, and he claims that the more powerful M2 will be referred to as the “Competition” edition. The unnamed user who posted the images then said that these are in the log from the current M2. One of the photos then show a start/stop button like that of the F90 M5 and the F80 M3 CS. This was then shared by Bimmerpost on Facebook, which naturally caught the attention of many.
The BMW M2 Competition, if that’s really what it will be called, is supposed to be more powerful and better equipped than the standard M2 from the factory. To make it more exclusive, just 1,000 examples of the more hardcore M2 will be built, according to rumours. Each example will be getting a revised version of the 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-six engine, similar to the ones you will find in the current M3 and M4. This makes the M2 Competition somewhat like a baby M4.Read the entire article BMW M2 Competition name has been confirmed online
